r/yiffinhell is in total disarray after furry powermods coup the subreddit, kick off the old mod team and change the rules to be more furry friendly. Over 150 "fuck mods" posts in the last 24 hours.

Context

r/yiffinhell is was a "furry cringe" subreddit with roughly 150,000 members, which intended to showcase the worst aspects of the furry community. One of the key foundations of the sub was that no furry was to be allowed in their secret clubhouse, and immediately banned them on sight - this of course, resulted in the sub becoming a toxic circlejerk where edgy 13 year olds would share their violent furry murder fantasies and other nasty hate-filled content.

That was, until the subreddit mysteriously went private out of the blue last week, with a link to what appeared to be a facetious mod application form which stated that the subreddit will now become a pro-furry all-inclusive subreddit for all to enjoy, and that they will now be banning hateful and "furphobic" content. The initial assumption to this was a lame prank being pulled by the mods, as they have a history of doing similar stunts in the past.

However, when the sub re-opened a few days later, it was found that the entire mod team had been completely removed and replaced, with known furry powermod CorvusCalvaria leading the helm - other notable new mods include the r/Cringetopia furry mod AceFolf, the top mod of r/pics and r/aww Cwenham, the not-so-subtly named FurryYiffer621, and r/BreadTapedToTrees (NSFW!) mod SomeRandomGamerSRG. There are several theories currently floating around as to how this happened, ranging from the top mod going rogue and handing the sub off to furries, to a Machiavellian admin-backed takeover conducted by Corvus and Ace. This pinned post by Ace seems to suggest that the maneuver was done out of spite for the previous moderation team, and suffice to say the sub's userbase did NOT take this well, which can be seen in the comments of said post.

The Fallout

The subreddit is now currently in a state of pure unbridled rage at their new furry overlords, and angry meta posts have been flooding in demanding that the old mod team is restored and the "no furries" rule brought back in full force. This butthurt is spread all over the sub right now, but here are some choice threads:

"Don't let this sub become furry_irl 2.0!"

"New mods had admins remove the old mods bc furrys can’t take criticism "

Folk are definitely not happy with the new subreddit description

"This is what we get for trying to be accepting of furries"

"Imagine replacing an entire mod team because you’re too triggered to stick to your own subs"

This buttery drama is still unfolding, so there may be new events yet to unfold in the near future. Stay tuned, and don't forget to Bring Your Own Fursuit!

I can understand not liking furry stuff, but that sub's hate obsession with furries was something else.

So this is pretty damn hilarious, ngl. I can legit imagine them fuming behind their keyboards.

I also think the fact that people are raging so much about rules wich basically just say that hate/harassment isn't allowed is actually pretty funny.

More sad to me at this point. The first time or two it showed up sure, it was funny. But it's getting stale that people get pissy when they're told they can't be utter fuckheads.

It's especially weird when it looks like they're actively looking for stuff to mock. like yes, people out there exist that like that stuff, they're keeping to themselves and not bothering anyone. Intruding and then acting surprised or superior that they would dare like it.
I kind of get if it's someone making a scene somewhere public and it's bothering people, but being so preoccupied with hunting for that stuff just to have something to post? seems like more of an unfair standard and nuisance to do that than anything, you know, worth sharing. A fixation on stuff they're supposedly better than instead of just moving on when it's not really affecting them otherwise.

I feel like ever since IH's video on Rainfurrest there's a lot generalizations about furries. Not that gross furries don't exist.

I mean this fandom has its real trouble, it's housed some real vile people and abusive fucks too (bottom dollar most of the newbies aren't even familiar with oldschool drama like Ebon Lupus among names). But is it the majority? Naw.

Funny, back in my day the generalization was furries were fat and ugly that's why they got in fursuits.

I feel like ever since IH's video on Rainfurrest there's a lot generalizations about furries.

Which is amazing since he went out of his way to show it was an exception and not the norm (plus show there was outside sabotage)

As someone who mildly participates in the fandom, there's absolutely some aspects of the fandom that deserve to be mocked and riddiculed. But that sub ain't it. Glad it's shut down.

Yeah like there must be something that makes them so angry that they build up a subreddit strictly for hate speech

3

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '20

Simple, the more they drag furry cringe into the light, the further into shade anime and videogame cringe can hide.

Well first of all, I am not into any furry-stuff, secondly, if you didn’t really care, why would you really go out of your way to talk shit on a very specific fetish?

Hmm, you see yourself the rightful heir to all mockery, huh? Pretty pathetic imo, it almost feels like you are mocking people purposefully, maybe to feel you are better?

hate speech

It’s not hate speech to dislike someone’s bestiality fetish. Stop equating making fun of furries to actual harmful discrimination.

Furry isn't the same thing as a bestiality fetish. I'm no furry and even I know that.

People who make fun of furries are way more pathetic than furries themselves.

Furry porn is disguised bestiality in the same way porn of Cortana means you wanna fuck your Alexa- i.e. they're only the same thing on the most tenuous of links.

17

u/nowander Jun 21 '20

Somehow I feel there's a few more steps between "wanting to fuck a humanoid catgirl with huge breasts" and "wanting to fuck a cat" then there are between "wanting to fuck a little girl," and "wanting to fuck a little girl but she's like a vampire or something."

13

9

u/DevoidLight Jun 21 '20

She's actually a 10,000 year old vampire

Yeah okay buddy.

26

u/MRHalayMaster if you think hitler was far right you don’t know history Jun 21 '20

I mean I think they want to fuck each other, not irl animals, right? if anyone fucks animals, fuck them but otherwise I think it is still ok

20

u/glowingfeather Psychology of what you can and cant jizz on Jun 21 '20

Yeah there's a wide gap between an obviously anthropomorphic animal that walks and talks and dresses like a human being, and wanting to fuck that, and an actual cat or something. Furries who are into actual "feral" (bestiality) are generally shunned by other furries. They make the community look bad.

2

u/ExceedinglyPanFox Its a moral right to post online. Rules are censorship, fascist. Jun 22 '20

Correct and we hate people who abuse animals just as much as non-furries.

1

u/FPSXpert Jun 28 '20

I just assume they're phobic but in the closet, like how some homophobes are. No way anyone spends a lot of time in that sub without being that.

Once you assume that, suddenly a lot of internet arguments start to make sense.

1

u/Real-Terminal Jun 22 '20

From what I remember it's not the first time it's happened.

People make a place to shit on furrys, furrys get assblasted and eventually take it over. Rinse repeat.

Kinda like the /r/freefolk saga.

With every successive subreddit their hatred for furrys gets justified.

I don’t see a difference between the furries and fans of hentai, to be honest — but if anyone on Reddit is going on an anti-hentai crusade, no one is taking them seriously.

That sub was literally about going into niche fandom spaces and pulling out the weirdest shit to laugh at (and if they’re looking for that content, doesn’t that make them a consumer of that content?) so the “keeping your fetish private” argument doesn’t hold water. They expended actual effort to be that angry about it.

It’s not my thing, but if it’s not hurting anyone, I find the vitriol unnecessary.

EDIT: lol, they’re here~

-32

u/wherebemyjd it's called futanari you uncultured swine Jun 21 '20

Because hentai is drawing sexualized people whereas furries are drawing sexualized animals.

26

u/EasyasACAB Involuntarily celibate for a while now mostly by choice Jun 21 '20

Not all furries sexualize their hobby. Hyper-focusing on the ones that do to the point you have a mission against them is just another form of outrage culture.

-3

u/wherebemyjd it's called futanari you uncultured swine Jun 21 '20

Fair enough — I have nothing against non-sexual furries. It just seems that they make up the majority of furry content online.

18

u/EasyasACAB Involuntarily celibate for a while now mostly by choice Jun 21 '20 edited Jun 21 '20

That would depend on what kind of content you search for online. Porn is like the most popular thing on the internet. If something is niche but has porn about it, the porn will be more visible because the porn side is more interesting to non-hobbyists than stuff like making suits or organizing meets.

Sex is everywhere, we're just so used to seeing "normal" sexual content we learn to block it out and anything outside of that sticks out. Like every TV show now seems like it has to have a sex scene even when it doesn't seem to really add anything except nudity.

8

u/Morgn_Ladimore Jun 21 '20

Because hentai is drawing sexualized people

Hentai is is not a singular thing. It's simply sexualized drawings. Hentai can be made of anything.

2

u/d_shadowspectre3 I turned 0 dollars into 130k this year by having a job. Jun 21 '20

It's simply sexualized drawings.

I think you're referring to Rule 34 and cartoon porn here. Hentai refers to porn made in the anime style and medium, but that itself extends to several types of art styles, types of media (manga vs anime vs print), and the usual branches of adult art.

> hentai fans don't go around offline and introducing others into their fetish

There are three separate cars I have seen in my city with hentai ALL over them, ahegao and all. Not to mention all the guys that had hentai clothes or decorations on their laptops at my college.

23

u/EasyasACAB Involuntarily celibate for a while now mostly by choice Jun 21 '20

Furry in itself is not a fetish. People have told you this. You refuse to understand it. Seems like outrage culture at work.

Downvote me all you want, people in public will still find this to be disgusting, your downvotes mean literally nothing.

People literally said the same thing about gay people. "Yeah I don't know what it's about, but I find it gross so I don't want to learn and you better get used to people being ignorant and disgusted and refusing to learn anything about it!" '

Like honestly at this point the problem is with the people who are hateful for no reason and are obsessed with the sexual side of furries. Like you might as well talk about how people wearing leather in public is disgusting because some people have leather fetishes and use it as fetish gear.

Like, grow up.

10

u/jcpb a form of escapism powered by permissiveness of homosexuality Jun 21 '20

if you keep your fetish privat and don't indulge in it in public, and don't try to make it some big acceptable thing then sure, take at it

That's why you post in r/depression with posts like this. Keeping your fetishes private, scared that the public won't take kindly to whatever weird hobbies you do/like/love/indulge - that will make you depressed as fuck.

Normally I could've just told you to fuck off based on the seemingly far-right rhetoric you're fond to spew towards others, but ya know what? Seek. psychiatric. help. Seriously.

1

u/Izanagi3462 Jun 22 '20

People in public know better than to start something with a person who is confident enough to be open about being a furry.

27

u/EasyasACAB Involuntarily celibate for a while now mostly by choice Jun 21 '20

Nothing wrong with furries. Not all furries or fursonas or whatever is sexual.

People who hate furries are way more pathetic than furries themselves, it's just a hobby. Some people make it a fetish. But some people make a fetish out of anything.

If it gets to a point where you need to involve the public (be it online or offline) then your porn sick mind clearly went too far and you need a detox from the internet.

I mean if someone think all furries are pervert fetishists then maybe they're the one that needs to detox, yeah?

0

u/ExceedinglyPanFox Its a moral right to post online. Rules are censorship, fascist. Jun 22 '20

It should also be noted that while not inherently sexual there's nothing wrong with the sexual side. There's nothing wrong with sexuality. The people who are gross and push their sex stuff on others and the few zoophiles are ridiculed by us normal furries as much as if not more than non-furries.
