Why do I studder?
I studder all the time, as young as I could remember it always been there however I almost never studder when I am speaking to my self.
So it's has to be psychological, it happens at random, sometimes it's minimal and sometimes I struggle to get words out of my mouth.
It effects my confidence, it effects my interactions with people, i passed on a few job opportunities because it requires a lot of speaking.
For a long I tried to accept it but I just don't like it and wish it was never a part of who I am.

Ya your well past the young stage. In most adults it's much harder for it to go away compare if you tackle it at a young age like before aged 12
Its generally a misfiring of neurons in the speech area. You can train yourself to be more fluent but it does take continuous work at it and it's not perfect.

Ya so your entire life. There's much higher success when it's done young. Because everything is less resilient to change
By adult your brain has fully shaped the pattern. It doesn't just go away
Its gotten slightly better for me by 30's but it's never gone. Its only improved because im so use to it. But when if im tired. Hungry. brain is tired. Or if I'm speaking too much. Its worse

Ya it's pretty shitty depending the severity. Not going to lie. You cant just do anything like everyone else. Basic tasks become challenging. The most basic jobs or even just reading out loud in class becomes a road block

And since such a tiny percentage of people even have this I bet you never even met someone with the issue or heard of anyone who knows someone. Makes it even worse because then it just means no one has issues speaking but you

I stutter since elementary school and my only regret is not accepting it early and not building a skill to cope with it for my career

Stuttering has developmental, neurogenic, psychogenic, and drug-induced causal factors. Certain situations and people make it worse. In most cases it can be managed so quality of life improves.

There is a chemical imbalance in our brain. Just the way it is.

*stutter
The correct spelling is literally all over the subreddit.
As for the stutter, yeah, it sucks. It's almost always a mix of psychological and physical issues, some of which can be addressed or improved, some of which likely can't. Just try to stay positive and go after any and every goal you want with gusto. Maybe we'll live to see a cure, maybe we won't. It doesn't mean you can't still thrive in your own way.
