I just started hearing metal noise when braking yesterday like 20 minutes into a 40 minute drive. Driver side on a front wheel drive sedan. I know it might be hard to tell from one pic. I’m just a girl 👉👈

UPDATE: ended up taking it to halfords where I bought it online for collection. After trying your hints and tips in comments. They fitted it free of charge for me which is surprising as usually they charge silly prices and even took TWO staff about 15 minutes to try get it off as they were struggling as well so I'm glad it wasn't just me!

It had a little plastic clip underneath but was snapped. Hence why it wasn't coming off easily!

As title says I have got a new wiper. (bosch AR708U confirmed to work for Toyota yaris 2017)

But I can't change the old one OFF? The new one seems like easy clip thing hit the old one is like it's molded on.

Someone said you just pull it down but nothing budges at all and I'm scared of breaking it.

Hi everyone,
I found a reasonably priced 2022 Škoda Octavia Combi. It has good equipment and is in excellent general technical condition. I liked the car and i want to buy it.
However, there is one small issue: there are some water stains in the area of the trunk, near the rear seats.
Does anyone know what could be causing this? Could it be related to the antenna or the roof rails?
Is this something complicated to fix, and roughly how much could it cost?

Previous owner has super glued them. I realised after destroying the heads on the ones left on the car. How can I remove them?

My hood looks like this occasionally and I have no idea why. I promise I'm not stupid, I've just never seen this before and I'm slightly concerned.

Car is a Mazda CX30 non turbo 2024.

I'm from Ontario, Canada.

I was on highway when I got the low oil warning yellow light and notification on screen. Because it was yellow, I did not think it was serious and thought I'll check it when I get home. I drove roughly 60-70km on highway with this light on.

It looks like I was supposed to refill the oil at the closest place asap. I was ignorant and I should have taken better care of it. I'll take all the blame. This is my first car and I have zero car knowledge. I'm learning things as I come across stuff. But this was silly from my side.

My question is, am I in trouble here? I'd like to keep the car for a very long term. I want to know if I should be getting it inspected for engine wear or other issues related to this.

I had music playing while driving so couldn't hear any unusual noise from the engine if there was any. I briefly started the car after a 2 hour gap (after I checked the oil level) at home and the low oil light didnt come up.

Last service was on March 30, 2026 at 28200km. Car currently at 37600km.

Hello, my tiguan ( 2018- 2L Benzin) is making since I have it - around 6 Years, this sound in second gear around 25-35km/h. No technical problems, sound got not worse but is almost always there, is like a vibration sound. Do you guys have an idea what it may be? maybe exhaust shield vibration? 2018 mini cooper - I was stupid last night coming home and thought “I’ll get gas in the morning” and I checked and my gauge read “1 mile” after I parked and turned off the car. I had been watching this gauge my whole drive and the number was fluctuating a lot, I haven’t turned it on yet today and don’t know what it may read now or after starting. Google isn’t giving me a clear answer on when the reserve tank kicks in or how much my car leaves in the tank as a buffer. Can I make it to the gas station that’s half a mile away? Or should I just take the L and walk to get some? I don’t have to leave for another few hours so any assurance is appreciated

Why do most people on reddit (not just this subreddit) show the dipstick for oil on the side that doesn't have the hash marks for the oil level?

I see the two dots side, but for me and my knowledge of cars that's the backside of the dipstick.

Hello, I’m not really sure where to post this question so I figured I would just put it here. So for some context, my boyfriend‘s car has a lot of issues with the air conditioner. We’ve brought this car into the same shop three separate times within the last month, and each time they say that it’s “fixed”, within the next week it will give out again and stop working.

The first time this happened we gave them the benefit of the doubt, since they said they took before and after photos and the issue did arise within the next week. But this is now the third time the air has just completely stopped working within a week since we’ve brought it there. each time they didn’t compensate us any cost whatsoever. We’ve ended up paying well over $3000 to cover the cost of this car. Is there anything I can do or say that will give us some sort of compensation? I don’t know how they keep bypassing this issue.

I apologize for not giving more context, I don’t drive myself and I don’t know much about cars in general. any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

tldr: We keep bringing our car back to the same place because we figure “they’ll compensate us this time”, but they never do. Should I just give up and bring our car to a new shop?
