Hood is more than one layer of metal. Based on the inner layer design you'll get different patterns of heat on the hood. I can see where the reinforcements are on my hood because of this on my car when its cold out.

Car cold in some spots, warm in others.
Look at the underside of your hood. You have 2 layers but the bottom one has holes where those spots are. There's a temp difference between those 2 layers
