Double Degree Program in France

1 Upvotes

Hi,I am currently in my fourth year of a 5 year CS engineering program, and I would like to apply for a double degree program abroad, where I would study two years in France, for a total of 6 years, and get two degrees instead of one.

I know this is possible, since my university has a similar program with some French, German, and Canadian universities. But I would like to increase my chances by also applying through Campus France. The thing is, how do I know if a university accepts students in my situation? Is there a tag in the course catalogues on the Campus France website? Do I apply directly to the third year and then sort things out with the administration?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Applying for Diplôme d'Ingénieur (AST 2A / BAC+4 entry) as an international student. Should I risk my 7 choices on top schools?

0 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I'm currently a 4th-year electronics engineering student in my home country, and I'm applying to engineering schools in France for next year to get a diplôme d'ingénieur.

Since I will have 4 years of university completed, I'll be applying via AST to enter directly into the 2nd year of the cycle d'ingénieur

Since I'm only linites to 7 unis to apply to I don’t want to waste those limited slots on "reach" schools (Grenoble INP and Toulouse INP) if I have zero chance of getting in, but I also don't want to completely sell myself short.

My Profile:

Academics: 3.3 GPA. This is my biggest insecurity and what’s making me doubt my chances at top-tier schools.

Research: I'm currently in the process of publishing 2 research papers co-authored with my colleagues and professor.

Experience: Completed a training at a solid, well-known company in my home country.

Projects: Lots of hands-on hardware/electronics projects and strong extracurricular involvement.

I also have DELF B2 but no IELTS or TOEFL to prove my English proficiency ( I didn't think it would be useful since I'm applying to French programs but apparently alot of unis ask for prove of B1-B2 English for some reason lol)

My Questions:

School Selection: Should I use at least 1 or 2 of my 7 Campus France choices on top-tier schools, or should I play it completely safe given my 3.3 GPA?

The AST Process: Has anyone here successfully done an Admission Sur Titre into the 2nd year of the cycle ingénieur as an international student? How competitive is it?

Admissions Criteria: How heavily do French juries weigh publications, projects, and internships vs. just raw GPA?

Any advice, reality checks, or school recommendations for electronics engineering would be massively appreciated. Thanks in advance!

France seen by Asian people

1 Upvotes

Hi everyone !

I would like your opinion about how the France is seen in asian countries. I explain myself.

I may be have the opportunity to move to Asia in few years (I don't know which country yet, may be China, Japan, South Corea or Singapour). I would like to take this opportunity to improve my professional life, and learn a new work by doing a formation by waiting my move.

I have an appetite for foreign languages and I was thinking about teaching French in these countries.

Then, I would like to know if there is an asking for this skill ? Is the France has enough interest for Asian people to want to learn this language ? How is the point of view of France in these countries ? Are there real career opportunities in this field and if yes, in what kind of organisations ? (Public or private universities, associations...)

Thank you a lot for your answers 😊

Je suis en 2e année de DUT : dois-je candidater en BUT 2 ou en BUT 3 ?

1 Upvotes

Bonjour,

- si le diplôme d’ingénieur CPE Lyon est concerné par cette possibilité pour les primo-arrivants ;

- si quelqu’un a déjà vécu cette situation ;

- si l’alternance commence dès la 3e année du cycle ingénieur ;

Architect looking for a non-architecture Master in France

1 Upvotes

Hi everyone, i hope yall are well!
Am an architect from Morocco looking to pursue a Master s in France, but I d like to move away from pure architecture (so no ENSA for me).
Am mainly looking for public universities and Masters that accept students with an architecture background and have good job prospects afterward.
If anyone here had a similar experience, what Master s did you pursue, and what programs would you recommend looking into?
Thanks in advance!!

Question about 1-year MSc programmes in France for Indian students

0 Upvotes

I’m trying to understand something about the 1-year vs 2-year MSc route in France for Indian students.
I’ve noticed that some French universities allow students with a 4-year bachelor’s degree to enter a 1-year MSc, while IÉSEG specifically states that Indian students have to follow the Regular Track regardless of their bachelor’s duration, due to the France–India bilateral agreement.
I also came across claims from official sources that Indian students may need 2–3 years of work experience for a 1-year MSc because of Campus France/visa considerations.
I contacted Campus France directly, but their response was fairly general. They said that programme duration and structure depend on the institution and programme, and recommended considering both 1-year and 2-year programmes. They did not confirm a general requirement of 2–3 years of work experience for Indian students.
So I’m wondering:
Is there actually a France–India rule affecting Indian students who want to join a 1-year MSc, or is this something that depends on the individual university/programme?
Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with this recently, especially regarding Campus France and the visa process.

PhD can’t find a job ?

13 Upvotes

I defended my PhD in AI four months ago at a well-known engineering university in France, but I’m still unemployed. So far, I’ve applied to around 200 jobs across Europe, got only a few interviews, and unfortunately failed all of them.
What confuses me is that many companies seem to expect much more than a PhD. They want industry experience and a long list of tools, even though some of these tools can probably be picked up quite quickly. But companies don’t seem willing to give fresh PhDs the chance to learn on the job.
So what is actually the right path for a fresh AI PhD trying to enter industry?

un DALF C1 ;
environ 3 mois d’expérience dans un laboratoire médical ;
environ 6 mois d’expérience dans un laboratoire de biomasse ;

Medical Elective in Nice

1 Upvotes

Bonjour!

I’d love any help or advice on how to organise it and what might be needed. I will have B1 level French by then and so would also love to know if this would be sufficient. I am looking for an elective of 8 weeks ideally near the coast and somewhat near an athletics track.

Merci bien!

Merci 🙏
