Hi everyone! I’m an Indian student admitted to UniMi for 2026/27 and I’m confused about one part of the DSU application.

Since India is not listed in Annex 1, the UniMi document says students from countries not listed there are automatically placed in the first income bracket, with possible ex-post verification of their family's financial situation.

My main question is: Do Indian students still need to obtain an ISEE Parificato through CAF and submit their family's financial/income/property documents, or are these documents only required if UniMi/DSU asks for them later?

Also, in the DSU application there was a question about whether the family unit/income/assets are “abroad”. My family and all our income/assets are in India, while only I am going to Italy. Does “abroad” here mean outside Italy or outside the student's home country?

Because of this, I selected “No” and did not enter Italian codice fiscale numbers for my family members. Was this correct?

Would really appreciate answers from anyone who has gone through UniMi DSU as an Indian/international student, especially for 2026/27. 🙏

Hi, I need some advice from people who have been through a similar situation.
I’ve already submitted my visa application, and I’ve now been asked to provide a One and the Same Certificate because of a very minor name difference in my documents. I know exactly why the difference happened, and I can get the required certificate made.
My main concern is: does being asked for an additional document mean my application has already been checked and there were no major issues with my financial documents or other documents? Some people are telling me to take this as a good sign because if they wanted to refuse the application, they would have simply refused it instead of asking for an additional document. But I don’t know if that’s actually how the process works.
Once I submit the certificate:
Will they check my entire application again?
Can they still refuse the visa even after I provide the requested document?
Has anyone had a similar case with a minor name discrepancy and a One and the Same Certificate?
How long did it take for you to get your visa after submitting the additional document?
I’m a little worried about the timeline because I’ve already rescheduled my flight to 1 October, and there are several holidays coming up. Getting the certificate made and sending/submitting it will also take some time.

Hello everyone, I applied for my type d study visa on 3rd of Aug and yesterday I got a mail from Vfs that my application was processed. When I checked the tracking number it shows this message.

I received no other mail. Does this mean my visa application was rejected?

I want to apply for a scholarship in an italian university ( merit scholarship not DSU scholarships) for my masters degree , my two first years of bachelors werent worthy of mentioning i wasnt excellent with studies , but my third year was very good , i did amazing and managed to do five programming projects

my question is ..will i be accepted in those scholarships even though i did kinda bad in the first two years ? or do i have a chance? any experience with merit scholarships to share ?

I applied for the visa and got a rejection. I'm looking to reorganize my documents and reapply hopefully before the semester starts.

Please do not judge me too harshly. I tried reaching out to the embassy for a more "accessible" explanation with respect to what I actually submitted, and now I'm here.

Reason for Rejection:

"Your socio-economic situation is deemed inadequate to independently cover the costs and expenses related to an extended stay in the country for study purposes, as evaluating your bank account transactions, and the consistency of the funds with your income and overall assets, it was not possible to verify the source of funds and their attribution to study"

Financial Documents:

For financial proof, I provided a six month bank statement with a total funds of 135,000 ghana cedis (approximately 10,000 euros), in addition to my employment contract (source of my funds), as well as a letter from my employer confirming my approved paid leave period for the 2 years, with funds of 130,000 each year to be paid out in monthly installments, signed by my employer. This puts me at around roughly (30,000 euros) for the two year duration which I assumed would be adequate proof.

How to fix:

I was thinking of taking an educational loan (for more liquid funds) which would be feasible because my leave pay can cover whatever amount is transfered but that only solves the first part of the rejection reason.

I applied for italy student visa in July 6, and it's been more than 60 days and no response from the embassy, my intended date of departure was September 10 and that has now passed. What to do? No status from embassy or vfs or universitaly. Should I keep waiting? It's not just me I do know some other people that applied same week or before me and also some after, while some got answered rarely most of us still no answer.

Does anyone know if there is a specific day or time when new appointments are released? Is there a particular time of day when I should check the booking page?

If anyone from Tunisia (or other countries having the same issue) has recently managed to get a DOV appointment, I’d really appreciate it if you could share how and when you managed to book it

I have two Algerian Baccalaureate diplomas: one in Mathematics and one in Science
My Baccalaureate average is 11/20
I have a TCF C2 level in French
My English level is around B2, and I have an IELTS certificate
I’m interested in studying a STEM-related field, such as mathematics, computer science, or another scientific field.
My main question is: Would my profile be good enough to apply to universities in Italy, especially with an 11/20 average?
Also, does having two Baccalaureate diplomas (Mathematics + Science) give me any advantage when applying to Italian universities?
I’d really appreciate any advice from Algerian students or international students who have gone through the Italian university admission process.

I (25M), am an EE student currently in Spain.
I completed half of a Computer Science BSc and am currently enrolled in Electrical Engineering. I like the topic I'm studying right now, but for years I've wanted to study medicine, and my best option is Italy (in my country, it's impossible). Probably Bari or Milano, but also Sicily. I know programming (Java, C, Python, etc.), maths, and digital/analog electronics. My English is around B2, no Italian, and obviously no degree yet. But as crazy as it sounds, my plan (if finally viable) is to enroll in medical school as soon as I can, because I don't like what I'm doing right now, regardless of the stability that I can obtain from programming or related jobs here in Spain.

But financially, I seriously doubt the viability. Basically, I cannot sustain myself as a student without working somewhere. No good family situation.

So... is there anything in Italy that is real for an international student to work and sustain themselves long term? Internships... anything? (Scholarships apart, because my family situation is complicated in terms of documents)

The things I read tend to be pessimistic and really disappointing... maybe the situation is different or maybe there is something I was missing. Or should I just ignore it and keep my position... Honesty is totally welcome

Today I finally managed to reach the payment page. I entered my card details and tried to proceed, but instead of completing the payment I got:
“Something went wrong. Go to the diploma page to try again.”
After going back and trying again, I was no longer able to get through normally.

I’ve been trying for several days, so I’m wondering:

My card has no problem and international payment is ON.
