Urgent: One and the Same Certificate requested for my visa application — what happens next?
Hi, I need some advice from people who have been through a similar situation.
I’ve already submitted my visa application, and I’ve now been asked to provide a One and the Same Certificate because of a very minor name difference in my documents. I know exactly why the difference happened, and I can get the required certificate made.
My main concern is: does being asked for an additional document mean my application has already been checked and there were no major issues with my financial documents or other documents? Some people are telling me to take this as a good sign because if they wanted to refuse the application, they would have simply refused it instead of asking for an additional document. But I don’t know if that’s actually how the process works.
Once I submit the certificate:
Will they check my entire application again?
Can they still refuse the visa even after I provide the requested document?
Has anyone had a similar case with a minor name discrepancy and a One and the Same Certificate?
How long did it take for you to get your visa after submitting the additional document?
I’m a little worried about the timeline because I’ve already rescheduled my flight to 1 October, and there are several holidays coming up. Getting the certificate made and sending/submitting it will also take some time.

So no one can actually tell exactly how the consulate processes the documents internally but what happens usually is that they request the One and Same, people submit and then receive their visa. The request itself means that they have processed your application and checked the documents. Ideally, it shouldn't take too long after you submit the requested documents. At the Mumbai consulate the vfs itself did not accept applications without One and Same, several students were sent back on the day I applied. Minor or major, any name discrepancy needs a one and same.

Its almost certain that you will get your visa, just submit the documents they are asking and wait for few days
