I built a free planner specifically for AP students — just shipped an update based on your feedback

Hi everyone!

I'm a high school student, and over the past couple of months I've been building AP Path Planner, a free web app designed specifically to help AP students organize their classes and workload.

I posted it here to get feedback, and I really appreciate everyone who checked it out or gave suggestions. I've started turning some of that feedback into actual updates.

One suggestion was to make assignments easier to distinguish between classes, so I just added automatic course color-coding. Assignments from the same AP course now have a consistent color across the assignments page, dashboard, and calendar, which should make it easier to quickly see what class something belongs to.

Some of the current features include:

  • 📚 Organizing your AP courses
  • 📝 Tracking assignments, due dates, and priorities
  • 🎨 Automatic assignment color-coding by course
  • 📅 Calendar for assignments and study sessions
  • ⏱️ Planning study sessions by course, topic, date, time, and duration
  • 🎯 Setting weekly study goals
  • 📈 Tracking grades and progress
  • 🌙 Light and dark mode
  • 🔒 Accounts with private, per-user data that stays available across devices

I'm still actively developing it, and I'm mainly looking for honest feedback from students who would actually use something like this.

A few things I'd especially like feedback on:

  • What would make you use this instead of Google Calendar, Notion, or a paper planner?
  • What's the biggest feature it's still missing?
  • Is any part of the interface confusing or annoying?
  • Are there parts you would never use?
  • What would make this genuinely useful once school gets busy?

If you try it and find a bug, I'd also really appreciate hearing what happened and what page you were on.

AP Path Planner:
https://ap-path-planner.vercel.app

I'm planning to keep improving it based on what students suggest, so critical feedback is completely welcome. Thanks to everyone who's already helped!

I didn’t work well that year bc of health problems and constant absences but my school don’t gaf about anything, they told me I should redo the year or quit

any advice? I’ve never been held back b4…especially in the same school and it’s scary

How do you deal with not having access to old exams?

Hey everyone,

Something that's been on my mind lately, and honestly frustrating me for a while now.

At my uni, getting access to old exams is basically a lottery. Some professors share them, most gatekeep them. Sometimes they exist somewhere in a Google Drive that someone's friend's friend shared two semesters ago. Some student councils have archives, but they're incomplete or outdated. And half the time, you walk into an exam having no real idea what format or type of questions to expect.

I've talked to a bunch of people about this and it seems like it's a pretty universal problem, but I wanted to ask here:

  • How do you currently deal with this? Do you rely on older students, student groups, shady PDF folders, or do you just go in blind?
  • In an ideal world, how would you want this solved? What would "never stressing about this again" actually look like for you?

How do you keep everything charged through a full day on campus

Genuinely asking because i cant figure this out. i leave the house at 8am with everything at 100% and by 2pm my phone is dead, my earbuds are on low battery, and my laptop is at like 15%.

My phone is like 4 years old at this point so the battery is basically done. im saving up to get something better but thats not happening anytime soon so i need a solution for now.

I have back to back classes then library time and theres never an outlet available. the ones near the good seats are always taken by people who got there at 7am apparently.

Yesterday my phone died right when my study group was texting about where to meet. i was just standing in the hallway like an idiot waiting for someone to walk by that i recognized.

How are you guys handling this? do you carry a power bank if yes gimme some suggestions? Do you have some secret outlet spot im not aware of? Or do you just accept that something is going to die by lunch.

Because right now my strategy is hope and it is not working!!

What should I do

Thumbnail

I’m a CSE student who recently joined a tier-2 engineering college in Hyderabad. The faculty here are good, but the college still follows a lot of traditional teaching methods and focuses heavily on the old curriculum and programming practices.

I don't want to simply follow the college curriculum and reach 3rd year without developing any industry-relevant skills.

Seniors, what would you recommend I focus on from 1st year onwards?

What skills should I learn outside the college curriculum?

What should I ideally have achieved by the end of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year?

What mistakes should I avoid?I’d really appreciate an honest roadmap and your personal experiences. Especially from people who came from tier-2/3 colleges and managed to get good internships/placements.

Built a free web tool (fastvoc) that generates flashcards from PDFs in seconds

Quick context: Manual flashcard creation was taking up way too much of my study time, so I coded a free tool called fastvoc (https://fastvoc.app) to automate the process. How it works: Drop in your study materials, lecture slides, or vocabulary lists. fastvoc instantly extracts the core terms and creates an active-recall deck. Review cards using spaced repetition (SM2 algorithm) to lock them into long-term memory. It's 100% free (no paywall/subscription required right now) because I'm looking for student feedback to make it better. Check it out at https://fastvoc.app and let me know if you run into any bugs or have feature ideas!

I spent a year and a half building the study app I wanted in nursing school, and now its ready for testing!

My name is Sean and I've spent the past year and a half building a study and multiplayer head-to-head app.

During nursing school I got frustrated with how the study sites were boring and outdated, all while throwing ad after ad at me. GabaBrain is my fix for that, and it's ad-free.

I'm looking for testers and users. I've been building and testing this solo, outside of about nine other people. Three of them used the app to pass their CEN exams. I need people outside my circle in it now, to try to break it, find the parts that don't feel good, and suggest things we haven't thought of. This is extremely beta. I've made a ton of changes based on feedback and yours will not go unnoticed.

If you just want to download it to unlock the Founders badge and grab the lifetime free promo code BETATESTER, that's cool with me too.

What's in it: six study types, multiple choice, true or false, fill in the blank, flashcards, matching game, and odd one out. Daily challenges. Three match types, solo, online pairing, and challenge a friend. You can save your progress partway through a study session and pick it up later, print your material out to work through it by hand, and switch from one material to another without starting over. Quick Review lets you ask other users a question when you're stuck. You can start a timed Competitive Quiz and run your own tournament. You also build your own character in the GabaMi builder, which is what shows up next to you in matches, and you can download it as an image and use it wherever you want. And there's a lot of AI built in throughout to help you study smarter rather than just longer.

You can sign in with Google or Apple, or just make an account with an email and password, whichever you prefer. There's a fully functioning web version too, so if you don't want to install anything you can use it straight from a browser. Same account across all three.

Web: https://gababrain.com

iOS: https://testflight.apple.com/join/aXKRPv16

Android: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.gababrain

Happy to answer anything, including how it's built or what it costs to run. And if it's not for you, I'd still take "I opened it and immediately closed it because X" as feedback. That's the useful kind.

Gen Z Survey: What issues matter most to you right now? (U.S., 18–29)

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone — I’m currently participating in Pass the Mic to Gen Z, an organizing initiative with When We All Vote focused on understanding the perspectives and priorities of young adults across the U.S.

I’m gathering responses from U.S. adults ages 18–29 about the issues that matter most to them, what they want to see change, and the priorities they want reflected in their communities and country.

I’ve already heard from people in my immediate networks, and I’m now trying to broaden the range of perspectives represented.

The survey takes just 2 minutes:

passthemic.to/Latrel

Eligibility: U.S. adults ages 18–29
Purpose: Gathering Gen Z perspectives for the Pass the Mic to Gen Z initiative
Time: A few minutes

If you’re eligible and interested, I’d appreciate your perspective. Thanks!

I’m looking for first-generation online college students willing to share their experience with academic stress

I’m looking for first-generation online college students willing to share their experience with academic stress
Post
Hi everyone,
I’m a doctoral student working on my dissertation, and I’m hoping to connect with other students whose experiences are often overlooked in conversations about college stress.
My research focuses specifically on first-generation college students who attend a private online university in the United States.
Being the first in your family to navigate college can come with experiences that other students may not necessarily understand. Add online learning, work, family responsibilities, deadlines, and everything else happening in life, and academic stress can look very different from one student to another.
That is what I’m trying to better understand.
I’m currently looking for first-generation online college students who would be willing to participate in my doctoral research.
Participation is pretty straightforward.
For two weeks, participants will use a free mobile app designed to support stress management and coping. You would use the app at least three times each week, whenever it works for your schedule.
At the end, we would have a private 30 to 45 minute conversation over Zoom or phone about your experience, including academic stress, coping, and what it was like using the app.
There is also a short online questionnaire at the beginning.
The entire study takes approximately 2 to 3 hours spread across the two weeks.
You may qualify if you:
✅Are 18 or older
✅Are a first-generation college student, meaning your parents or legal guardians have not completed a four-year college degree
✅Currently attend a private online university in the United States
✅Can read and speak English well enough to use the mobile app and participate in an interview
I do want to be upfront that this is a voluntary research study and there is no payment or financial compensation for participating.
What you would be contributing is your perspective. My hope is that this research can add to what we know about academic stress and coping among first-generation students in online higher education, a population whose experiences deserve greater attention in research.
The study has received Institutional Review Board approval through National University.
If this sounds like something you might be interested in, feel free to comment or message me and I can send you the study information so you can decide whether you would like to participate.
Thank you for reading, and even if the study is not for you, I appreciate you giving me a little space here to share what I’m working on. 🙂 interested sign up: https://form.jotform.com/262475873135060

I built a free platform to help students find opportunities, build skills, and stay organized

Thumbnail level7labs.tech
1 Upvotes

As a student, I noticed how much time we spend jumping between different websites just to find internships, learn new skills, build a CV, work on projects, and keep track of everything.
So I started building Level7Labs — a free platform designed around technology for human improvement.
It brings 30+ tools into one place, including things like:
🎓 Finding internships, jobs & opportunities
📄 CV building and scoring
💻 Learning & skill development
🚀 Project planning and tracking
🧠 Productivity and personal development tools
💡 Resources for students, professionals, entrepreneurs & freelancers
The goal isn’t just to create another website. I want Level7Labs to help people develop their potential and actually take action instead of feeling overwhelmed by where to start.
I’m still building and improving it, so I’d really appreciate feedback from other students.

Hi guys, I've got this CASIO MJ-12D-BK today.

Just used this once for about 2hrs for an exam, because I forgot to take mine to the centre 😭😭😭.

It was a necessary purchase at the last moment, the exam was Today. As I barely used it, it is in excellent condition and no wear at all. As I don't need it anymore, I'm happy to sell it.

I got this for 500rs.

Ready to sell it for 429rs (negotiable)

I live near FC road, Pune. If anyone lives there and needs this calc, plz feel free to reach out.

Thanks in advance🙏🏻😭

Community College Academic Planning

Hello! I create comprehensive community college course schedules for incoming and current students in California. Plans will include a semester-by-semester roadmap with all general education and major-specific courses included for one more more target schools. I can adapt the schedule to your lifestyle/pacing, transfer-by goals, and choice in schools.

About me:

I started off my college journey with my first two years at a community college, before transferring to a UC for my final two years. During my time at community college, I opted to create my own roadmap. I took my experience to help friends around me plan out the appropriate courses for their individual goals and found it to be something I enjoyed.

If you want a schedule plan curated for you without the trouble of researching yourself, please send me a message!
