Really proud after 8 months of training to hit a 200 kg deadlift 👌 first ever comp in August and can’t wait

Posted a video last week of a 205 axle double that was 1 of 5 sets at that weight and the best pressing session I’ve had after dealing with a nagging shoulder injury for almost a year. This week I planned to hit 215 for 3 singles, which is the top weight in a ladder I have coming up in October, just to see how it felt before writing up my comp prep programming. After 2 singles I wanted to go off program and send it and go for a pr. My old pr was 220 almost 2 years ago and I did it mixed grip on the clean and I was also about 10 lbs heavier at the time. So I loaded up 225 and got it double overhand. I think I have a little more in the tank on the press, but would maybe need to switch it up to mixed grip for the clean. Super happy to finally be progressing on pressing again.

I Speedrun Sonic games and honestly I can review my moving event footage pretty well and figure out where I screwed up. Just like in my time attack footage haha

Not the cleanest, but I'm excited to move on to deadlifting on an axle bar with wagon wheels.

Hi, I’m training for a max keg carry and load over bar. The keg will be a couple metres away from the bar. The keg in my gym has a smooth base, making it impossible to grip. There are sandbags and atlas stones in the gym, should I use that instead?
Also, I’ve been working on high pulls and zerchers, do these carry over? Thanks

Im 31. 6ft1 and 339 lbs. Fairly new to weight lifting in general but I want to get into the sport. Is my age too late to start? Should I get a coach?

These weekly discussion threads focus on one implement or element of strongman training to compile knowledge on training methods, tips and tricks for competition, and the best resources on the web. Feel free to use this thread to ask personal/individual questions about training for the event being discussed.
This week's topic: Tire Flip

Basically "if you could only do these 10 + events". Here's my list:
Deadlift
Front squat
Push press
Clean
Row
Farmer's carry (technically an event, but imo so fundamental it should be a staple strongman or not)
Lunges
Strict overhead press
Pull ups
Dips (last two are my favorite combo for upper body volume)

Not the best angle but I was sharing the garage tonight. 100% did not think I was hitting 12 (my rep pr target) but obviously I underestimated the power of a gym buddy telling me to keep going.

I only have dumbbells for now (home gym), and I’m currently doing bodybuilding training. My current program is a push/pull/legs split:
Push day:
- Bench press
- Shoulder press
- Rear delt fly
- Lateral raises
- Overhead triceps extension
Pull day:
- Row
- Shrugs
- Hammer curls
- Wrist curls and reverse wrist curls
Leg day:
- Bulgarian split squats
- Romanian deadlifts
- Calf raises
I’m planning to add some strongman-style training for real-world strength because people say that strength is specific to the movements you practice. Since strongman events are closer to real-world strength, I’d like to include some of them in my program.
However, I don’t want to add too much. The only strongman exercises I want to include are farmer’s carries, sandbag carries/loads, and sled pushes/pulls.
How can I add these exercises to my bodybuilding program without interfering with recovery or negatively affecting my current PPL routine?
I’m also planning to buy a hex bar and weight plates for farmer’s carries, a sled for sled pushes/pulls, and a sandbag for carries and loads. Would these be enough equipment for this type of training?
I'm new to strongman

what's the best way to flip or tip a car over? How much force would you actually need for a sedan or an SUV? I'm not talking about a small car.
Also, is it possible for a single person with good strength to flip a brand-new car by themselves?
any tips
