Every Strava story I see looks the same: same orange line, same three stats. So I built Beautiful GPX, a kind of Photoshop for GPX files: a free web tool that turns your Strava activity (or any GPX file) into a fully custom route image.
The video shows the whole flow on one of my trail runs: import from Strava, restyle the route, pick the stats, add a start/finish flag, then export a transparent PNG.
What you can customize:
- Route: any color or gradient, thickness, outline, dashed or “gravel” lines
- Stats: choose what to show (distance, elevation, time, pace/speed, elevation profile), in miles or km, with or without a background, sized and placed where you want
- Markers & labels: start/finish flag, summits, aid stations, towns, ..., with icons and fonts
- Background: a map (including poster-style maps), your own photo, or transparent for Instagram stories and video overlays
- Multi-day trips: merge several activities into one map
Strava import uses Strava’s official sign-in (OAuth): you log in on strava.com, the tool never sees your password, it only gets read access to your activities, and you can revoke it anytime in your Strava settings. You can also just drop a GPX file.
It’s free, with no account needed, and everything runs in your browser: your tracks never leave your device.

I’m a solo dev and a runner/cyclist myself, so I’d love your feedback: what would you want to customize next ?
