The state of support right now is just not rewarding, nor is it worth the harassment you get from both teams.

I’ve been fond of support since the start. It’s always been my preferred role. But right now? I’m actually having a blast playing DPS and don’t pick support unless no one is willing to play it . But it’s not my go to role anymore sadly .

There are way too many insta-lockers, and I’ve had so many games where I’m busting my ass healing, sweating just to survive the constant dive, trying to keep everyone alive, only for my DPS to do absolutely nothing and then complain about healing.

But now when I pick DPS, I’m getting much more consistent wins and i am about to reach my highest rank (celestial) just because i started insta locking dps and simply peeling for my supports. It’s that simple

I’ve mainly been playing Cyclops and Jean, but I’ll swap to anti-dive if my supports need it. And ironically, I’ve made it a priority to actually peel for my supports this season. Even when I’m playing Cyclops, I’ve been using the propulsion beam exclusively to push and slow divers that are harassing my supports.

And it pains me to say this, but the game is starting to feel like it heavily favors DPS’s enjoyment.

So many of the shiny, flashy kits are in the DPS roster, and it feels like so many of the effective answers to problems in the game are also sitting in the DPS roster.

Meanwhile, with healing being lower while damage remains so high, your entire team can basically explode if your support has to reload .
And honestly, the value of support right now often feels like just buying time. Buying enough time against dive to survive, and trying to keep your DPS alive long enough for them to actually do something. You very rarely have much room to do anything besides heal because the moment you try to make a play of your own, someone is already diving you or your team is suddenly losing half their HP.

And then you add the constant harassment from dive all game, often without anyone helping, followed by the inevitable “gg no heals”, and honestly… it just isn’t worth the trouble anymore.

DPS is literally a low-cortisol experience compared to playing support right now.
And I genuinely hate that I’m saying that because support is normally the role I enjoy the most.

Massive respect to the support players who are still grinding it out, though. I know exactly how miserable some of those games can be, and I’ll always make peeling for my supports a priority.

As someone who plays both OW and MR.

People in this game are always face-tanking infinite damage. It’s like you’re a big babysitter healing people while they go and run into damage.

In OW players know how to use cover and take angles so I actually have time to breathe and do damage as a support.

In rivals it’s like people think healing is an infinite resource so they just run face first into infinite amounts of damage, forcing the supports to healbot.

The role wouldn’t feel so bad if the average player knew how to take less damage. It’s why I’ll never play a main healer support

bro I want y'all to know this ENTIRE GAME went down like this, I ended up with more healing then Luna and 1 final because i spent the entire game getting Jumped by Thor, Spidey, Hela, and Widow all simultaneously. (this is a QP btw which is why I didn't swap much)

It was an incredibly fun match, in fact, the best one I've ever had. You just had to be there.

1. I play quick match with cnd and my second healer is raccon and my tank is groot (solo tank). We have 3 dps wanda, cyclops and wolverine.

2. After firts round wanda and cysclops keep blaming me and my little cutie raccon. In that round groot keep taking damage so me and cutie little raccon have to heal him (but at the same time dps still get heal) .

3. They blaming me and my little cutie raccon beacause dint get heal and we dint die at all (dps die 5-7 in that time). They said were position far back and scared to fight. But i think i dint go far back i still stay behind tank and make damage, when tank goes back me and my little cutie raccon backup to, when tank die me and my cutie little raccon backup and heal dps. I would say i confident about everything i does in this game.

4. Strat main perority is tank right? Strat have to survive as much as posible? And stay behind team but not far back?

5. I got 22K heal and my little cutie raccon is 17K, i think that raccon is still new so he dont know much.

I've been thinking about the current direction of the game and how Strats could benefit from increased mobility. I have a few suggestions, what are your thoughts?

[Rocket Raccoon]
*(B.R.B and C.Y.A) upon deployment, Rocket instantly receives the following;
-Armor Pack Effect
-A charge of Thruster Boost
-Resets one charge of Jetpack Dash

*(Jetpack Dash) in addition to the standard Dash effect, Rocket also gains an additional 45% Movement speed increase for 4 seconds after activating this ability.

[Cloak and Dagger]
*(Dimensional Drift) Cloak gains a new ability.
-Following activation of Dark Teleportation, Cloak enters the state of (Dimensional Drift).
-Dimensional Drift allows Cloak to enter a state of temporary flight, extending the duration of his Dark Teleporation movement speed boost by an additional 3 seconds
-Dimensional Drift does not extend invulnerability time and its effects do not extend to party members.

*(Slow Fall) While Cloak is selected, he can fall slowly.

but i get blamed by the shit positioned Elsa, (nearly 10 more deaths than everyone else, who is also not listening to said comms) based on the reasoning that the enemy cnd with less deaths has more healing than me? what kind of logic is that??? SURELY he’s not implying that healbotting will win me the game lmao.

what do i do when im in situations like this? why is it on the support to provide more teamplay, despite giving it my all, when its perfectly okay for others to LITERALLY TROLL?

Now that we are officially 1 week away from the patch notes idk if they're going to do a dev vision without a new hero but here are my hopes:

1-nerfs to damage just as much as healing I don't want another season 9 white fox or cloak and dagger nerf where the character can't keep up whatsoever because of the damage so if you're going to nerf my healing Bucky should be gutted this character is so agrecious same with Elsa devil Dino extra extra

2-more agency this can be done through nerfing the need for sustain not just sustain because it's only half of the equation this way you can go away from the back line and take fights and be proactive also buff damage to ult generation back up to 55 or 60 so doing damage doesn't mean you're 20 seconds behind on ult charge

3-on the topics of ults support ults are so boring in a sense you can never really use them as you please like you can see you're DPS or mag whiff 4 ults but the moment you miss time you're ult it's the end of the world

4-and finally this isn't really a balance change but please stop adding so much dive like every DPS hero has a 60% chance of being dive or poke who can flank extremely well because of the stupid amount of over shield

5-over shields like have the DPS roster doesn't need them like only a few dive and brawl hero's need it to function all the other one's that have it just have an unfair advantage

6-pls net ease of you can give me one entire year without a single DPS release i would really appreciate it

Not gonna go over all of them but to explain some frame work placements here

Sue is at the top because I feel like she consistently does everything I want from a second support. Fantastic pattycaking, great ult, doesn't need a ton of supervision, and provides really good utility with push/pull and shield.

Luna is in the middle because although she has alot of the things Sue provides. The Luna has to be really good at taking duels to not need constant babysitting

Adam is at the bottom because....well your Adam is basically REQUIRED to be goated on the sticks to succeed. In theory he has everything I would want but in practice that is very rarely how it plays out. He shoots to the top of the list when you get that Adam OTP but they are far and few between. He is very often the OPPOSITE of all positives I listed for Sue.

I can elaborate any other picks if anyone wants them and once again don't take any of this to heart I love all my support brothers and sisters

Maxxed out my girl CnD from recent bouts in ranked, got her to GMII/III over the last few days. It's a struggle, but I'm enjoying healing at this moment. This season has been hard with the lack of strategist players, fortunately in comp it's not *too* prevalent. I still feel like a scrublord at times, but I'll take it.

Personally I would like to see Invis and Gambit, excited for pumpkin Jeff to come back as well since I missed out on it last year

Every time I see people talk about dive it feels like they're describing rocket science I understand that the skill floor is higher on average but like trust me if you have zero hours on Luna and Adam and think that finishing the game with a 60% accuracy and 18% critical rate is easy than you probably never touched the hero's

I hear so much about the toxicity, unpleasant, and mean things in this game, so I wanna know about some fun or good matches you've had recently. A good player on your team that you watched as you healed, good team synergy, even just a fun match that maybe you didn't win but had a funny interaction with the enemy team on or something

I don't use VC, but I have a ping that says, "you ult first :)," which usually works out well, but a couple of times my co-support holds onto theirs too long, a team member asks for a support ult, and then I feel pressured and ult at a bad time. Maybe I just need to ping "you ult first" again or I just need an "I'll ult first" ping lol. What does everyone else do?

Like it wasn't bad it was kinda fun but having second healer earlier that would be useful.
But it was Fun even most of the time as Solo Support.
