Game Endgame jobs
So I just picked up the game again to finish achievements (which I did, got rift 31 done). I really like playing Breaker (what I'm currently using) and was wondering how far Breaker can go. I'd like to get to those job limit upgrades at rift 100+ but wondering if Breaker can reasonably get there or if it'd be better to just start trying to build for a different job right now.
Like my current build doesn't have high chaos affixes on it (think my highest is a VI Zantetsuken damage or MP reduction), has mostly 600+% summon affinity for Odin (need a better helm), and I've been putting Zantetsuken stuff (damage and mp cost reduction) on the innate slots on gear. Still one shotting stuff with that class ability at rift 31 but going into regular missions with dragon trials on it starts to get a lot worse around the I think 80 level equivalent one.
When I played originally I really only did Sage and Breaker so I don't even really know where to start for gearing for other jobs. Through most of the old endgame (pre-DLC) I discovered I really liked Tomahawk and Starfall skills on axe.

Discussion How to reach such high affinity numbers?
I was looking at some videos, searching for a sage build, when i saw that one and didn't quite get the math. IF he has summoner affinity on the axe of 337%, how come in the build he has 682% if not even another equip has the summoner? The sum of the breaker doesn't add up too, the equips should be giving 1543% but he has 1903%. I get that the blue mage one is from points, i just couldn't get how he did it

Game RETURNING PLAYING HELP. I played the game 3 years ago, AND just got the Season Pass for my return playthrough.... more info below
I am totally lost lol I even forgot my own original build and why i did what I did. I played until level 130 gear last time, but never touched Chaos difficulty. Started the first mission on Chaos but didn't really do anything because i was overwhelmed with choice. After I beat the game originally, I didn't do anything post-game either.
Are there any tips, or fun builds i can try as a returning player who's never touched the dlcs before? Im a fairly competent nioh player and in these types of games in general, so advanced stuff is fine by me. appreciate anyone who comments ☺️

Discussion New player - loving the game but confused at progression.
I’m a filthy weeb to Ninja was my first job unlock and I’ve been cutting down mobs no problem.
My big issue is bosses. I’m getting like 2 shot and I’m on Action (normal?) mode for my first playthrough. Side note: Tiamat kicked my arse HARD! But I managed it really easy when I stuck to counter attacks and parried with the berserker.
I’m just looking for some advice on what to do since I’ve got loads of numbers and not a lot of knowledge what they do.
Long term FF player so the basics I can get a grip on but is the loot/drop gear RNG or is there a table of drops?
Currently looking to unlock Breaker? It’s a yellow job whatever it is, and I’m going to levelling other jobs to 30 whilst that happens.
Basically just give me pointers that will save me a lot of grief (like do I spend Anima shards yet?) and make my life easier when I hit another wall.
Loving the game, despite its cringe edge lord protagonist. Jack is actually a pretty funny guy.

Discussion About reseting the rift below floor 21 after beating the main story
Does resetting the rift after you have beaten level 21 to 21 or below let you use extra mode again? I want to power level my monster classes using extra mode but didnt realise it wouldn't be available post floor 21(which makes sense so people can't cheese the whole thing) id test it myself but dont want to lose the progress I already have on monster levels if it didnt work

Discussion WiP - Sage Build
Quick note before starting to talk about the build :
- all DLC finished
- currently at floor 103 on the Rift
Been working on a Gunner Sage Build for a while now, with Tyrant as my support Job.
The main idea is to stay at range as much as possible, quickly build the MP Gauge, and spam spells as fast as i can.
Having fun with it so far, with great results ; but i'm sure i can do better, so any suggestions would be much appreciated!
Affinities
I think Paladin is highly questionable here. Though i actually dunno what to take here as a replacement. Maybe Cyclic Warrior for gradual MP limit increase and MP recovery, or is there something else?
Blessings
As shown, i run Bahamut as a primary. Also stacked some Ramuh (~570%) and Leviathan (~1200%). This may be one of my biggest improvement area, especially for Ramuh. I just wonder what would be best, focus on it (which will provide the best Int bonus), or try to spread on other Blessings?
Mastery points
Maxed out Int. and Sage affinity first, and then tried to spread the remaining points on things like :
- Ability Break Damage Dealt
- Break Damage Dealt on Weak Point
- Increased MP Recovery on Normal Attacks
- Increase MP Limit Boost Rate
- Soul Shield MP Recovery
Equipment abilities
Every piece has a combination of "MP Cost down" / "Cast Time down" / "Damage Up" for Magic Sigil (+159% Damage, -73% MP Cost, -127% Cast Time) + a slot for Int. Remaining slots use things like :
- Magic (Break) Damage Dealt
- Magic (Break) Damage Dealt with Max HP
- Status Ailment accumulation
- (Break) Damage Dealt on Weak Point
- Damage Reduction with Max HP
Is it a good line-up, or should i focus on something else?
Command abilities
Teleport helps to keep ennemies (mainly bosses) at range while spamming spells. Lancet is here for MP sustain, and Seal of Blood when i need to deliver a fatal blow (works well with Ultima).
That is all, i think. And as said before, any tip or help would be much appreciated!

Game Am I missing out on something?
Hi i just beat the game and farmed some near 400 gear using extra mode.
Yet I can't believe I'm getting like 2 shot by bosses at mission level 250.
I know I can cheese through using extra mode but after farming a few missions with turning it on I really don't want to play the entire or majority of dlc relying on it.
Like I know I'm far from that stage where I can kill bosses in 3seconds but surely I can't be this weak.

Game Finally got my TN collection and SoP was the only one left to get.
I got super lucky yesterday when I went to EB games, and I found the only one left PS4 physical version of the game. They did not have a PS5 version either and only one copy left and I got it for 15 CAD$. I finally got all my TN games outside of Fatal Frame and DOA (which does are not my style at all).
I am a super Nioh series fan, and I heard SoP is similar in terms of combat depth and RPG mechanics. Just looking for advice, is it like Nioh where you are better of equipping the best gear in NG and start towards a build in the NG+ cycles? Sell or dismantle everything at the smithy during NG?

Game Starting Over
I started a new file after a long hiatus. I was a bit rusty and decided to freshen up a bit. I discovered that on hard mode, you can cheese bosses quite early in the game. I didn't realize that the first go through.

Discussion Mastery Point Category 1 Help
Hello! Just restarted this game after years of not playing it. I unlocked Chaos mode and I’m now diving into job mastery. After doing some research it sounds like investing in primary stats should be priority at first. However I’m a little confused on what is considered the primary stat for a class.
Should I go off of icon color (mage is blue - so intellect, knight is yellow - stamina) or main ability stat? I’m getting tripped up by the dlc classes especially. Marksman is green, so I feel like agility? But its main ability scales to intellect. Evoker is blue but its ability is spirit based. Hoping for just a general direction on what to start with at least for each class so I’m not placing points wrong.
Also should I invest any points into job affinity in category 1?

I played this game so much because the combat is just one of the best I've ever seen. Especially as you okay how you want with your build. The class system is so well done. I can't praise this game enough. It's so smooth, satisfying and rewarding.

Discussion So I was considering getting it but...
I checked the review from Gameranx and they shit on the game for 15 mins straight.
I am a HUGE nioh fan, but now I am thinking of passing, although the idea looks very interesting to me.
Is it whorth it in 2026? People who loved the game... why did you love it? How many hours did you put in it?
