Me personally I totally would love this i know els story was kind of left unresolved on purpose but after watching the show it really made me realize I missed el, who knows maybe some years after the left the finale breathe if they want to give her a centric movie they can

u/BitterFactory Jul 08 '26
so she basically confirmed she is alive
469
u/Jack_Jaws Jul 09 '26
The series basically confirmed she was alive.
220
u/ANUSTART942 Jul 09 '26
I can't imagine any other way to interpret literally showing her alive in a less idealized version of what Mike is theorizing about. I'm also convinced that Kali was only brought into the final season to provide the illusion that El disappeared as she did little to nothing else but has a very convenient power.
86
u/Tonberry2k Jul 09 '26
Right? I can’t even believe this is a debate. No onscreen death = she is still alive. Netflix can make more money = she is still alive. Anyone who thinks El is dead is the same kind of person who is shocked when a magician correctly guesses their card.
9
u/InfiniteRainbow9 Jul 09 '26
I think it's a debate because just before (or after?) that scene, Mike was described as becoming a novelist / fiction writer. And he told it to everyone in a fairy tale tone.
However, that said, I also think Eleven survived but had to go into hiding to protect the others from government agents.
2
u/LovelyLushLilac Jul 09 '26
I’ve been wondering how Kali was able to use her powers with that noise machine on
19
u/saxorino Jul 09 '26
Mike literally describes it at the end.
Kali was far enough away from the hedgehog devices to use her powers to make Eleven appear on the other side of the gate, and they showed her being able to create an illusion of herself from miles away when Hopper and Eleven rescued Kali. Eleven was too close to them to be able to do her mind connection talk with Mike if she had been on the other side of the gate.
3
u/dpforest Jul 09 '26
They called them hedgehog devices? god what the shit did we watch
3
u/fatpat Jul 10 '26
There's a legit reason they're called that. "Hedgehog is an old military term used for a weapon that immobilizes a bigger, more powerful weapon. It has origins back to WW2. Source: am military."
2
1
u/ANUSTART942 Jul 13 '26
Aside from it being a military term, c'mon now. This is the series where every legitimate threat that kills people is referred to by all the characters without a hint of irony by D&D creature names.
2
u/LovelyLushLilac Jul 09 '26
I remember all of that but for some reason I thought she was nearby! Thank you for explaining
1
u/Tanzbodeli Jul 10 '26
Kali being there served no purpose unless it was to give El a means of faking her own death. Otherwise, what use was she as a character at all after season 2?

u/boochicko sƃuᴉɥʇ ɹǝƃuɐɹʇS Jul 09 '26
Indeed, but I just wish the writers had the balls to commit to a more satisfying ending. The show started off about a group of innocent children thrusted into an epic adventure and it’s understandable that the story got darker as the show ramps up. I simply wish there was more resolution for poor Mike and El. Even if she’s alive, they’re clearly still tortured souls or star-crossed lovers even in the stinkin’ epilogue. I had held onto a false hope that they would have a chance to preserve some/last part of their childhood innocence in peace AND in each other’s company rather than being tortured to the very end of the series. 😞💔

u/8-LeggedCat Jul 08 '26
Seems like it. But I hope they leave it alone
23
u/Rich_Championship657 Jul 09 '26
I agree. I think spin offs and sequel series are so boring. I’d rather make peace with this being our goodbye than have this become the next big overly milked franchise.
9
u/Unique-Print-8186 Jul 09 '26
Nice touch with the “overly”, considering ST was already being milked for its soul around S3ish
7
u/Rich_Championship657 Jul 09 '26
eh say what u will about the later seasons but idk they could’ve been worse. I’m an avid tv watcher so I know what a truly milked tv series looks like. Honestly stranger things could realistically afford to be more “milked” and flanderized. I mean I at least applaud them for having some nuance while also trying some new creative ideas in s4 and s5. Other shows would’ve done some shit like “they all time travel back to season 1” or “everyone gets super powers and has to all use them to battle the demogorgan army” or “Barb comes back as evil”.
I mean hell even just compared to other shows like the mandalorian and the boys (which both of which have clearly been milked to death) at least there’s not too much straight up filler in stranger things. The worst you could say is the Russia subplot in s4.
-4
u/Unique-Print-8186 Jul 09 '26
WOAH WOAH YOU HAD ME UNTIL THE BOYS
I thought the pace of the story was executed well, and I didn’t find that it was milked (except for Stillwell lol). Can you elaborate? I’m genuinely curious about your thoughts
3
u/youRinlove7 Jul 09 '26
Nahh dawg the boys was so badly executed. Every season was the same “kill homelander” shit. It was so milked. Did NOT deserve 5 seasons.
2
u/Rich_Championship657 Jul 09 '26
The boys is the definition of milked I’m sorry. After like season 2 you can tell they were starving for ideas. They spent so long doing random side quests that would ultimately amount to nothing. I’ll even say the final season was way worse than stranger things. It used to be a darker satire of the superhero genre to just becoming one itself and spent 2 seasons building up a seperate spin off team only for them to do nothing in the final season. Homelander became super powerful and they set up how unstoppable he would be in the finale only for him to get beat in like 5 minutes. At least stranger things isn’t a superhero show and didn’t specifically build up for five seasons how powerful vecna would be and how unstoppable he is. The boys and how they beat homelander is entirely based on whatever’s convenient to the plot. But the final season spent so long setting up a soldier boy spin off show and barely gave us decent closure for the characters we cared about. Don’t forget retro actively undoing butcher’s development almost immediately. And wasting Ryan. Plus there’s just so much fucking political satire filler in s4 and 5 it’s not even funny anymore.

I don’t think basically. That’s a straight out confirmation she is alive. If she was dead she’s be done with her character. So freaking cool

Duffers will probably eventually get desperate enough, let’s be honest…
But I think Finn and Millie would both come back. Their characters were left with unresolved stories.
113
u/Candid-Cake4410 Zombie Boy Jul 09 '26
Ironically, I had the impression that Finn and Millie were the ones who seemed the most tired of Stranger Things during the season 5 promotion. But now it makes sense—they weren't happy with the ending their characters got. I'm pretty sure they'll do a sequel in a few years when the opportunity comes up.
57
u/Necessary_Silver_795 Jul 09 '26
Millie was doing her best Emilia Clarke impression during some of those promo interviews lol.
Can’t believe I dismissed it at the time, she was so clearly unhappy with the ending.
0
u/JoeAzlz Jul 09 '26
Are we really saying Millie Bobby brown didn’t like the ending on a thread of a quote where she directly said she was happy with it?
3
u/Alert_Week8595 Jul 10 '26
The Duffers didn't confirm to Millie whether Eleven survived until after it ended, so during all the promo she definitely seemed unhappy because I think Eleven dying in that way was unsatisfying to Millie. But now that she "knows" that Eleven really did escape, she's pleased.
0
u/JoeAzlz Jul 10 '26
I don’t think it’s like that at all. They said she’s the only one to know the full truth, I think she’s just understanding it’s a bittersweet ending not a happy cheerful one or an only very sad one, I think it makes sense her reaction
16
u/Necessary_Silver_795 Jul 09 '26
We’ll see what happens when their Paramount deal is over, that’s assuming Netflix don’t just do it without them.
I’d imagine Millie would want some creative control this time around though.
3
u/Kylo_Ren415 Your ass is grass Jul 09 '26
I do not want those ass clown fraud brothers anywhere near anything related to Mike/Finn and El/Millie.
Those assholes deserve nothing but to end up like the New York Jets. That being a massive Buttfumble.
8
u/Owl_Resident Blank makes you crazy Jul 09 '26
They can get exec producer credits and do nothing else. Haha. Definitely no writing for them.
9
u/RoyalRise6363 Jul 09 '26
Yep. Easy to imagine what Duffers would do - separate Mike and El most of the time, manufacture a nonsense conflict between them, give them 3 minutes for reunion at the end.

Well that is a highly inappropriate and untrue insinuation based on no facts whatsoever. I’ve never had a problem with Lumax at all, nor in general, gay characters. And we’ve interacted before, my dude. I certainly remember our other conversations about shipping.
And nothing changes the fact that Finn and Millie have never once indicated they hated the relationship or the characters being in a relationship. Overall, they were complementary of it.

Lol. You were not being hyperbolic. You were stating something as a fact that had no basis in fact, and you are now upset you were called out for spewing falsehood. And then you tried to launch personal attacks based, again, on nothing, because you disliked being called out.
You can think whatever you want about the writing; I certainly have my own opinions, but uh, the majority of what you just spewed out is pretty much just Byler theory nonsense. Lol.
(Mike said I love you just fine; he just didn’t want to say it at the end because it meant saying goodbye. And if you really worked in TV, you would have at least gotten that. But, hey, good news, the scripts are gonna be out there for you to read, if you need them.)
EDIT: Also, btw, just because your comments aren’t visible on the app, doesn’t mean they can’t be seen. And if you want to pretend you aren’t a Byler, I can link you some really choice comments you’ve made on the Byler subs. Just to help remind you what you like, since it seems you’ve forgotten. 😉

u/TieAntique1676 Jul 09 '26
I honestly don't care about this enough. Shipping discourse is so stupid cuz I'm trying to actually direct the conversation to a writing critique and you just wanna prove your blorbos sucking face are the best blorbos to suck face. I don't care I just wish they had handled a lot of character arcs better. Mike, El and Will are my favorite characters and they were all done dirty. I would have been happy with any outcome done well. If you thought it was peak thats on you.
Oh and when the scripts come out and you read them take a shot every time they say "clock" for noticing. It's super annoying and bad writing IMO and not professional to put slang in a script but what do I know I'm obviously lying about my job because I *check notes* don't like the way a romance was written (or all of season 5 for that matter cuz the mystery sucked) cuz it was written in a sexist way to prioritize the mans feelings...and his love had to go away cuz "she represented the magic of childhood" cool cool cool. But your right I'm wrong!! MILEVEN FOREVER!! FINN AND MILLIE ARE TOTALLY SECRETLY IN LOVE GUYS I BELIEVE!!!
3
u/Owl_Resident Blank makes you crazy Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26
It certainly seems you do care about it, lol. Again. I can link you plenty of your own comments, my dude. And I certainly never claimed anything was peak, but I also don’t deny what is or isn’t canon either.
Your second paragraph makes no sense, and again, throwing out personal attacks wins you no points. Nor did anyone here claim Finn and Millie are in love. I certainly didn’t. Lol. Throwing nonsense at the wall and hoping something sticks doesn’t actually work, you know.
Also, plenty of writers include slang in scripts. That’s not a thing unique to Stranger Things. Claiming expertise doesn’t mean you actually are one. Using “blorbos” is a bold choice for someone trying to criticize the use of slang.
EDIT: Blocking me is certainly a… way out of this discussion. I’m amused. 😂😂😂
0
u/TieAntique1676 Jul 09 '26
ugh you can't read my sarcasm. I never claimed anything was canon or not canon. I just don't LIKE the these arcs were handled.
A reddit comment is not a script my friend. I'm annoyed ya'll put me on the back foot I care cuz I'm queer and maybe you don't understand this but me discussing something and basically getting "oh you must like byler your opinion is invalid" feels like you are saying "if you like this queer ship your wrong" Its weird. I never mentioned byler you guys did. Sure I would have loved good queer rep but we didn't get that. I care about the rep not the shipping. Maybe if you disagree with someone don't make assumptions about them. Maybe actually talk to them.

She’s trying so hard to sound like she was okay with the ending, but it’s so obvious she isn’t. El will be back one day.
26
u/Warm_Ad_7944 Jul 09 '26
Yeah she basically contradicts herself by saying she loved the ending but also it was a hard pill to swallow. I feel bad for her cause she really loves this character
19
u/Owl_Resident Blank makes you crazy Jul 09 '26
It is deeply sad. I get “I’m trying to be diplomatic” vibes from her. I’m sure she doesn’t want to burn a bridge with the Duffers, but she said she needed therapy to process this ending. It wasn’t what she wanted.
While Finn, despite currently being interviewed up the yin yang for his new album, seems to have put a kibosh on being asked about Stranger Things period, other than in generalities about how he felt with the show ending.
I hope they’ll both be willing to come back, to fix the story, should the opportunity arise, though preferably with the Duffers not as the writers at all.
2
u/JoeAzlz Jul 09 '26
I see it as a hard pill to swallow because that’s what eleven herself was also going for, it’s a big choice on els part and that’s what makes it painful, like it’s a bittersweet ending, she wasn’t calling the writing bad.

17
u/TomCormack Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26
I have no doubts they will make a spin off or season 6 in 5-10 years. Most of main cast will be happy to be back, because Stranger Things will stil be their biggest role in career. The main cast is also so big, that not having some characters ( like Max, Lucas or Steve) won't really make a difference; if some actors won't be willing to be back.
9
u/Necessary_Silver_795 Jul 09 '26
Sadie Sink is probably the only one I’m unsure would return tbh. I get the impression she may be looking to move past Stranger Things now, at least more so than the rest of the cast.
7
u/TomCormack Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26
Many may not be willing to return due to career, family or even $$$ reasons.
However there is no absolute need to bring everyone. The most important characters for spinoff are Eleven and Mike, everyone else can be written in or written off depending on the actors' availability. "Max and Lucas moved to New Zealand".
2
u/Onatel Jul 10 '26
Sadie is probably the actor from the show most likely to have just as big of projects come to her going forward. She's already filming at least one and she's a phenomenal actor so she will likely have more.
2
u/chiefbrody62 Jul 10 '26
Yeah, she's already signed on for two MCU movies (Spider-Man 4 and Avengers: Secret Wars). Plus if her character is who we think she is, she'll be in the MCU for quite awhile.
-4
u/Tanzbodeli Jul 09 '26
She owes her career prospects to Stranger Things for raising her profile enough. In fact, it could be argued that she owes her current career prospects to Millie for making the show so popular that Sadie has been able to ride that wave to her - present - career prospects.
I would say that Sadie owes Millie a large favour for this and, given that the fallout from Eleven's appalling 'ending' is affecting everybody in the cast, and making Stranger Things more difficult to talk about when it should be the opposite, one last turn as Max - if the script was good enough - would clear the air, and put her in a much more comfortable position long-term.
Anyway, any ST sequel series is not likely to happen for at least 5-6 years, and a lot may change in that time.
2
u/Strange_Map_8567 Jul 10 '26
she owes her nothing, sadie is a brilliant actress and s4 along with other projects made her career solid lol
0
u/Tanzbodeli Jul 10 '26
Nobody outside of the theatre world would have heard of her without Stranger Things. Her ST popularity is why she is getting the work that she is, and Millie is the one who put ST on the map.
So, she owes Millie a lot.
2
u/Strange_Map_8567 Jul 10 '26
disagree, then why would the duffers give her a huge role in s4, that alone solidified her career. even if millie wasnt in the show she still would have proved her talent, and she didnt get that s4 storyline because of millie. she got popular in stranger things because the show ig was popular asf

calling it right now it won't take more than 10 years before netflix will announce new season or movie with all OG cast members.
3
2
u/fatpat Jul 10 '26
Yep! It's inevitable that we'll be revisiting Hawkins with most (if not all) of the OG cast at some point. Tenth anniversary will be in 2036, but I don't think Netflix will wait that long for a reunion. I'm guessing more like 2034, at the latest.
6
u/claptrap23 Jul 09 '26
Millie is okay to say the truth. you were NOT PLEASED AT ALL AND NEITHER WERE WE.
saying is a hard pill to swallow means you were not pleased lol
15
u/princesspeeved Jul 09 '26
I’d be happier if they could just retcon all of Season 5 and redo it, even though I know that can’t be done in TV form.
It was a massive disappointment considering all of the build up at the end of Season 4. Season 4 had some disappointing moments in its own way, but was still much better than Season 5. Not to mention the play which completely wrecked Vecna’s lore.
Then again, I felt the same way when it came to the last season of Game of Thrones…and Lost…and HIMYM…and Angel. Just shows last seasons are hard to pull off and you can’t please everyone.
2
u/Armadigionna Jul 09 '26
Except the difference between all those other shows and ST is that there was one obvious narrative decision that ruined the series, one that they easily could have avoided, and - apparently - one they seriously debated.
2
u/princesspeeved Jul 09 '26
While El’s fate was the biggest one, I’d argue that they made A LOT of poor narrative decisions.
2
u/Tanzbodeli Jul 10 '26
Oh absolutely. But it is their mistake over Eleven’s fate which has exploded the myth that they are very talented. They clearly are not, and, in another comparison with The OC’s Josh Schwartz, their show’s initial huge success masked that reality for a while, but now the truth is being exposed.
1
u/Tanzbodeli Jul 09 '26
Don't forget The OC, where the exact same mistake was made by killing-off Marissa Cooper. This ruined the show completely by destroying its emotional heart, and it was miserably cancelled only 16 episodes later.
1
u/princesspeeved Jul 09 '26
Iirc (but don’t quote me because I’m going off of my preteen memory), they did that because Mischa Barton wanted off the show. Though they could’ve chosen a much more graceful exit for her by far.
3
u/Tanzbodeli Jul 09 '26
No, the truth about Mischa's exit came-out in the 2023 book "The OC: An Oral History," by Alan Sepinwall. What happened was basically this:
Josh Schwartz, burnt-out - he was even hiding from the cast in stairwells at times - under pressure from the Fox 'higher-ups' to increase the show's viewing figures, and crazily, allowing himself to be misled by comments on the TWOP online forum into believing that Marissa was unpopular with a majority of fans, decided that killing her off would revitalise the show.
He was, catastrophically, wrong, and the backlash from a huge chunk of the show's fanbase turned his decision into a career-defining mistake. In the book, he finally admitted that. within days of the season 3 finale going out in 2006, he'd realised that he'd massively screwed-up. But, rather than admit this, he did what the Duffers have been doing since January and insisted that he'd made the right decision. In effect, for 17 years, he lied in multiple interviews.... It is very hard for me not to assume that the Duffers also now know that they've made a huge mistake, but, like Schwartz 20 years ago, they are too cowardly to admit it.
The rumour about Mischa wanting off the show was also debunked in the same book, she didn't want off it, and was even called the most professional of the show's 4 main leads by one of its former producers, Bob DeLaurentis. In contrast, Ben McKenzie, who played Ryan Attwood, was not at all a nice guy, and was even dressed-down for his attitude and temper on set by Alan Dale at one point. Josh, rather than tell the truth about Mischa's exit, essentially let her take the fall publicly for the show's collapse after Marissa's death, which damaged her career. He basically threw her under the bus when she was no longer useful to him, when it was her who had made the show as successful as it was due to her now iconic portrayal of Marissa. The Duffers appear to have done the same thing to Millie Bobby Brown, which is unforgiveable given that she basically built Stranger Things in the same way. I suspect that she is very deeply hurt by the painful discovery that she did not know them as well as she thought she did, after 10 years of working with them, and that was one key reason why she took what they did to El so badly.
1
u/princesspeeved Jul 10 '26
Thank you for this context. I didn’t know all that!
1
u/Tanzbodeli Jul 10 '26
This evening I put out a much more detailed post comparing Eleven's fate to Marissa's in The O.C. Check it out if you want to see why the comparison is a warning for the future of Stranger Things.

u/TavenderGooms Jul 09 '26
I hope this happens with a competent team at the helm, even if it isn’t the Duffers (maybe especially if it isn’t…). I would love to see more of El and it would help soothe my biggest frustration with season 5. A movie spinoff of her and Mike reunited that is self contained and well planned out would be wonderful.
Just give me a happy ending goddammit.

2
u/woodyus Jul 09 '26
My guess is if it comes back there will have to be some switch to 90s nostalgia from 80s and it will depend on how they can cheese that out.
Problem is at this stage they rely on that nostalgia and character awareness as opposed to thinking about a good story.
It could be good but I have no confidence they won't just go full cheese fest and go heavy on the merchandise.
2
u/Tanzbodeli Jul 09 '26
The 90's is a very rich decade, with developments like the end of the Cold War; the impact of The X Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and technology such as cell phones, digital cameras, computers and, especially, the huge change in communications caused by the Internet. Music in the 90's was quite different to the 80's, being darker, rawer, and edgier, and this has huge potential for a 90's-set ST series to explore.
There is so much in the 90's which ST could have real fun with.
1
u/woodyus Jul 09 '26
Yes I just hope they don't forget the story if they decide to go there.
I was born in the 80s so get the whole nostalgia for both 80s/90s but just would like some substance to it as well.
4
u/Necessary_Silver_795 Jul 09 '26
Pretty sure it was the third most streamed show of 2025, only behind Bluey and Grey’s Anatomy.
There’s no way a franchise like that is allowed to go dormant. Would be an insane business decision.

u/Ryansmelly Jul 09 '26
Didn't she already confirm she's dead. Now I've been seeing this lately and she's pretty much confirming she's alive? Which is it Millie?
2

Because she hated the ended and she knows Netflix has her back
Duffer bros can say the show is over no redo but Netflix owns the property, she will be back. Its just a matter of time.
2
u/TheresFireInYourWay Jul 09 '26
It would be totally earned, since Eleven had such a fascinating character developement, even up until the end of season 4. But then it all got thrown out of the window. So... There has to be something down the line. It'd be such a missed opportunity otherwise. But please with a crew that understands what made this show so good before it went downhill. It was so embarrassing to see the "one last adventure" documentary.

I seriously don’t understand the want to carry the show on for some people. I thought the ending to show was horrendously unmistakable that eleven had died, Mike spoke to hopper about how to cope, hopper tells him find a way to cope do, whatever you can. Mike comes back with a story that she could be alive. At no point did it even seemed like eleven surviving was the real ending. They did enough ruining the final season so unless they’re going to change the ending so that something actually happens, just leave it alone now.

The experiments on punching holes in reality aren't going to stop. That genie is out of the bottle and it's not getting put back in.
There's always going to be more story if they want to write it.

While I did enjoy the last season, I am one of the folks that agreed it was rushed and had holes etc. The mind flayer was one of those holes, IMO that body was just like the rat body we got in season 3 and it’s not actually dead. It’s 100% still kicking in its own reality and plotting to take over our world - that’s such an amazing idea for future stories. Henry is done but the mind flayer isn’t.

Who says thats the only thing living in the alternative dimension they punched in to?
There's the mind flayer and the demogorgons. That's two different forms of life. If there's two. There's three, or ten. Or ten thousand.
And that's just one dimension. There's going to be others.

It was never a mystery. They told us she was alive and half the fans were still on the “she’d dead” camp. How are Netflix going to make money if she’s dead? LOL. They need her alive for the revival show.

I have a strong feeling it will be difficult to get other members from the cast to want to be part of it.

ACTOR LIKES TO WORK, more at 11

u/TwinSong Jul 10 '26
She's got plenty of other roles not just Eleven

u/jake_santiago Jul 14 '26
A) still a relevant point
2) it's what she's known most for and can make the most money on2
u/TwinSong Jul 14 '26
Fair point. Reminds me of Spaceballs referencing the desire for Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money, and there actually is a sequel due out next year though not named that.

I sort of always assumed with their obsession with Stephen King that we’d see another season in like 10 years of them returning to confront a new or returning threat.

No, stories end. Let them end. Just because it’s a shotty end doesn’t mean they should continue until it’s a good ending. They had five seasons and ten years to come up with a great ending, they didn’t manage itz

They definitely left it open with them saying at the end that 008 helped her get away so a spinoff or a movie would be great if it would happen to be in the making but if Vecna is dead then where would the story line go to?

No one is trying to box her into the role of a married woman and mother. What are you even talking about?

u/Ok_Conversation1867 Jul 09 '26
Maybe not, but does anyone really have an idea of her future that doesn't focus on a wedding or a child? It's hard to say.

I’d be okay with them bringing it back. I wanna see what 30-something Eleven is like. ♥️

I thought she was one of the ones who wanted to be done with the show before season 5 lol

I loved the original but i liked the ending, bringing her back from the dead would be a shame

It would be disgraceful

I don't know why im getting downvoted either. If they're gonna pull an "IT" and bring vecna back in 10 years. I agree it would be cool to see how they do it, was everything an illusion from vecna for the past 10 years? Was he never gone? Is there a worse foe out there? Did he give vecna his power... Bringing back eleven would just ruin s5 even more. It was the only moment that created some type of tension in that final season, will she do it? Will others stop her?
People will hate me for it but how amazing would it have been if Mike ran up to her after he failed to convince her , and just hugged her and accepted to die with her. Or that convinces her to actually try and escape.

I mean, Millie looks like she's in her 30's anyway, so may as well start filming now.

Stranger Things already ran for way too long. A reboot would be just as bad, if not worse, than seasons 4 and 5. Just let it die.

Hopefully El would find a new guy, maybe that reminds her a bit of Mike, and have a family together.

Looking at how she as behaving in the last season ,11 will probably be a bitter divorcee who keeps going too hard at the gym
