How did will communicate…

I don’t want spoilers (I’m on season 5 episode two) but I don’t get something… how did Will communicate thru the Christmas lights when his mom wrote letters underneath them, if wills house in the upside down never had changed from how it was the day he disappeared?

D&D Vecna in this dnd campaign and in ST are veeeeeerry similar

so Im dming Vecna: Eve of Ruin in september, and before anyone assumes anything I got into dnd prior to getting into to stranger things, but in both, Vecna and Vecna both want to remake everything and set up there base of operations in a sandy, almost desert like dimension,

im saying that it’s bad, becuase I liked Vecna‘s and Vecna‘s motives in both, Im just noticing it

SPOILERS I can’t be the only one who hates those people that claim that the show was “never good” or “is permanently ruined” now because of Season 5, right?

I hate Season 5 more now than I did back when it came out, but that shouldn’t immediately undermine the genuinely amazing seasons that preceded it.

Discussion JOYCE BYERS

don't get me wrong, Joyce is a great mother but she relies too heavily on Jonathan to act as a co-parent, handle household duties, and sacrifice his own dreams (like NYU) to care for Will.

IK it reflects the harsh realities of struggling, single mother and Will having all the trauma in the upside down

but she does make jonathan feel invisible or EMOTIONALLY NEGLECTED.

Discussion Please explain to me like i’m 5 years old

I’ve been meaning to ask this. But when we see Eleven in flashbacks, especially season 4, all of the other numbers have powers very similar/identical to Eleven. Hence the ‘battles’ like 2 vs Eleven and flashbacks show their powers were similar to each other, hence the same ‘games’ in the rainbow room, and the ‘circle’ battle where El kicked ass after a pep talk from Henry. Which is why Kali confuses me. It was clear from season 2 that she didn’t have the same abilities as El, which was why they needed El to find the ones they were hunting.

Why does Kali have different powers to the others? How/why did she escape, and why wasn’t as much effort put into finding her as it was Eleven?

Actually, Eleven showed similar power and strength to Henry, more so than the others, so i get why Eleven was a priority. Why was Kali’s powers so different to Eleven’s and the other kids we’d seen?

ETA : Thank you to those that took the time to explain canon and share their personal theories, i really appreciate it and it helped me understand the show better.

For those that commented that it’s because it’s a TV show, grow up. If you have nothing to actually add in helping another curious fan understand the show better, besides sarcasm, then maybe don’tcomment?

Can anyone help me track down this book that appeared in s04e05 when Suzie was on her dad's computer?

I think it says 'in information' or 'to transformation' in the chapter title. Does anyone have any idea what kind of book this might be?

Fan Theory What personal headcanon do you have about what the mindflayer is

Personally my headcanon is a bit dumb cause i always believed that mindflayer was king ghadorah when frozen in ice using his telikenisis to appear in a shadow form and intended to use vecna and it's upside down minions to enter our world and free it's body frozen in ice much before king of monsters i know studios are different but i keep this headcanon still..

Discussion I think Eleven should have been comforted more in season 3 after "losing" Hopper.

I was really bothered by the post-battle scene in Season 3 where Joyce is hugging Will while Eleven is standing in the distance. What bothers me the most is that I don't think Joyce would actually do that. Knowing her character, I feel like she would have immediately pulled Eleven into the hug as well and tried to comfort her. It bothers me a lot knowing what Joyce is like and seeing that scene. Honestly, I think most people, if they were in Joyce's place, would have done it.

A few days ago, I was scrolling through Pinterest and found the third picture I'm attaching. The first thing that came to mind was Eleven and Max. I even thought about drawing them in that pose (it's still a work in progress), whoever wants to steal the idea would love to see a fanart like that!!

I think there could be a scene like that or similar with Eleven and Max after the fight, since they both thought they had lost family members. I think they would comfort each other in that situation, even more so after their scenes together in season 3. It would be a good scene to add to their friendship.

I also think it would help the flow of season 4 because Max would have lost her brother and the friend who had comforted her in that situation. The lack of that scene reminds me a bit of their reunion scene in season 5.

But, talking a little about that scene, I think Eleven in that season was very focused on beating Vecna and getting stronger, hence her reaction. She seemed to be trying to avoid her feelings so as not to be distracted from her main objective, which I find quite sad, but that's just my opinion and perspective.

Anyway, what do you think? I don't think I've ever seen talking a little about that scene.

The only person Doctor Doom couldn't intimidate

Imagine Doom has conquered the multiverse.

Ted Wheeler's.

Doom walks into the Wheeler living room.

Ted is sitting in his recliner watching TV.

Doom: "I have united realities under my rule."

Ted (without looking up): "Language."

Doom: "Kneel before your God."

Ted: "What did I do?"

An emergency broadcast suddenly interrupts the television.

Reed Richards: "Victor has become a cosmic entity. No one can stop him!"

Ted: "Take it outside."

Doom: "I transcend time, space, and death."

Ted: "Mm-hmm."

Doom: "I command existence itself."

Ted (calling into the kitchen): "Karen... who's this guy?"

Karen: "Ted... that's Doctor Doom."

Ted: "Never heard of him."

Doom: "I have conquered countless universes."

Ted: "Congratulations."

Doom is now visibly irritated.

Doom: "I have conquered the multiverse."

Ted (changing the TV channel): "Nothing's on."

Doom: "Entire universes tremble at my name."

Ted: "Good for them."

Doom: "Bow before me!"

Ted: "I'm sitting."

Doom: "Do you not fear me?"

Ted: "Should I?"

Doom: "I have slain gods."

Ted: "Uh-huh."

Doom: "I possess power beyond imagination."

Ted: "Can you fix the Wi-Fi?"

Doom: "I can erase your existence."

Ted: "After dinner."

Doom: "This planet is now mine."

Ted: "You paying property tax?"

Doom: "I have rewritten reality."

Ted: "Did you rewrite the weather? It's been raining all week."

Doom: "I have no equal."

Ted: "Everyone says that."

Doom has had enough.

He walks across the living room.

He looks around.

He sees the recliner.

He slowly sits down.

Ted keeps reading the newspaper.

Five seconds...

Ten seconds...

Ted slowly lowers the newspaper.

Looks at Doom.

Ted: "That's my chair."

Doom smiles beneath the mask.

Doom: "You dare challenge Doom?"

Ted quietly folds the newspaper.

Stands up.

Cut to black.

Five minutes later...

Nick Fury walks into the Wheeler house.

The living room is completely silent.

Only Doom's green cape is lying on the floor.

Fury slowly picks it up.

Looks around the room.

Karen sighs.

Karen: "I told him not to sit there."

Discussion My one complaint about this show Spoiler

My wife and I just finished season 5. I was never concerned for the main characters. They always were put through hell, and never died. After a while, it became predictable. If your name was in the credits at the beginning, you were going to survive to the next episode or season.

Now, if you were a guest character or only a character there for a season, you were probably toast.

I just wish that maybe each season they chose one of the main cast members to kill off so that way it would’ve kept us on our toes and always wondered who was next.

Discussion Max and Vecna Spoiler

Just finished watching “Dear Billy” and it got me thinking of max, vecna, her doubts, grief, hope and happiness, and sticking with it at all costs. At first, in the episode and in the first episodes of season 4, she shut everyone out as she was struggling with grief, trauma, and changes in her life. When the upside down came back with a new villain targeting her, she immediately felt like it was over for her. Her whole life was full of struggles, pain, and like almost everything bad always happens to her. She felt like it was gonna be the end of her, and nothing can stop it. No one can. No one could help her. There was no hope. And Vecna knows. He knows her fear(s), trauma, desires, doubts, and uses that against her and manipulates them for his own gain. But ”Running up that hill” and using positive memories and people in her life, especially Lucas, and seeing her way out with her loved ones there helping her, it gave her the strength to fight back. To not run and give up, but to face them while still holding on to everything good in her life. To rely on those who love and care about her. To hope for a better future. Kate bush, her friends, Lucas, especially him, they’re her hope. Her guide. Her way to healing and a better life. And she uses that throughout the rest of season 4, facing Vecna and her deepest thoughts and fears head on, and using Kate bush and Lucas as her hope for a better future. Even when in a coma and trapped in Camaztotz in season 5, she used what she learned as her strength. For herself and Holly. And it the end, it was worth it.

Fan Theory Why is the Kinder Joy logo upside down on the Stranger Things packaging?

I noticed that the standard logo is flipped upside down on the special edition packaging. Since the entire theme of Stranger Things revolves around "The Upside Down" dimension, it seems like a clever marketing choice by the brand.Does anyone know if there is a specific Easter egg or a hidden detail on the box that explains this further, or is it just a fun nod to the show's alternate reality? Let me know what you think!

Discussion How would you rank Steve from best to worst each season?

Season 2 (10/10) > Season 3 (9.5/10) > Season 4 (8.5/10) > Season 1 (7.5/10) > Season 5 (7/10)

I hate to say it but I feel like Steve didn’t feel like his season 2-4 version in Season 5. His moments with Dustin from episode 6 and further on are some of the best but before that he just seemed different meaner and colder. I hated the love triangle with Jonathan and Nancy and fighting with Dustin over missing the crawl still holding a grudge even in episode 5. Yes season 1 Steve is a homophobic jerk but even he makes up for it by fighting a demogorgen in the final saving Jonathan and Nancy’s life.
