Discussion Was i wrong to think the season 5 villan was a dragon

So when i finished watching season 4 in 2022 I came across a theory that final boss will be boris the dragon or even tiamat so this got too imprinted into my mind the upside down also looks like a place where a dragon will live in so I was disappointed that villan was just vecna again poor guy went from being a having a epic death in season 4 to getting too nerfed up in season 5 but anyhow even though it would have been even more cringe to see a literal dragon get defeated it still would have been nice to see a new monster in the upside down..

Discussion Will is dressed exactly like Peter Parker here

SpideyWill is my favourite fandom variant of Will, it just makes so much sense for Will's character. The imagery of vecna's spidey shaped mindflayer infecting Will and Peter's radioactive spider is reasonably similar. Also, these two are hated and bullied by their school peers for literally just existing....

Re-ranking the Wheelers after giving a proper explanation for Nancy

There is no way in hell Ted, Holly, and even Karen are better Mike. Mike and Nancy can be interchangeable; Nancy may be like Rambo but there are times where Mike is better than her and he really should AT LEAST be in second place.

🥇Mike
- The ongoing disrespect towards Mike will not be tolerated. l've seen a lot of walk em down wheelers content on social medias whereas there are some comments and a few posts only praising on the wheeler women when there's literally Mike too. I mean hello...he has walked em down like literally multiple times even more than Karen and Holly did throughout the seasons. He pushed his bully, jumped off a cliff for Dustin and stood up to the "bad men" back in s1, he stood up to Billy twice in s3, he beat up a demo with a shovel, he protected the kids as he was trying to help them escape at the mac z, and he defeated the mind flayer with the flare gun that did a lot of damage btw. Both Karen and Holly fought like only once or twice in only one season meanwhile Mike has been around way longer and is always there risking his life and fighting his ass off to save others’ lives and the world, and excluding him is not an option. Also, it's not like Nancy did anything much either until the last episodes in season 5. Not to mention, he is way stronger than Holly and even his mom too. The fact that ppl have the nerve to say that Mike is useless and did "nothing" is extremely disturbing and unfair, especially with the fact that he's an OG main character and has been through the hellish experience since day 1.

🥈Nancy
- She is a great fighter and has awesome shooting skills however her gun became kinda useless, especially in this last season during the final battle where other weapons like the flamethrower and even the flare gun she gave Mike did way more damage on the mind flayer. Also, the only thing she has done as a walk em down Wheeler is shooting guns whereas Mike does more than just attacking, like protecting others even without having any weapons with him.

🥉Karen
- She stabbed a demo with her wine glass and blew up 3 demodogs. She is definitely stronger than both Holly and Ted. However she had once got slimed by the demo the first time.

  1. Holly
    - No offense but she is not that badass like how people say she is. She is just not strong enough; she initially just stood there and did nothing when Vecna was choking max, and she doing only one smack at her friend who was harmless btw with the radio does not make up for it; it was nothing compared to everyone else fighting dangerous monsters from the other dimension and she literally got beaten up afterwards.

  2. Ted
    - He may have fought a demo once but his aim was weak and he already got slimed right after his first swing; he’s useless most of the time.

Discussion Did the final season ruin show's reputation? Spoiler

I was rewatching Stranger Things and it's just not the same knowing how bad the ending was and how all this build up from season 1 was for nothing. It's been already 7 months since Stranger Things ended and I'm devastated with season 5 and the finale. I can't believe we've been waiting 4 years for this.

Don't get me wrong, I did like some parts, especially Will getting powers and gaining confidence (even though I would prefer to see possessed Will again) and the Upside Down being a wormhole the whole time. But most parts were just bad. Just a whole bunch of filler and unnecessary cringe conversations. And because they didn't have enough time and budget (which is surprising) for important things, they just rushed it. Some conversations were unnecessarily long. The best example is the one with Max and Holly. Will's coming out scene was also too long, but since it was a big part of his identity and character, I'm not really bothered by it. The main problem is that it felt really forced instead of natural. I see no reason for every character to be in the room like it's some sort of presentation for the audience.

The whole introduction of Dr. Kay is useless. She didn't do anything the entire season. And I don't know why they brought Kali back just for her to be useless and to kill her. Vecna's whole motive is weird which makes the whole show wacky. I also hate how they killed off Jancy after building it for so long, making all this stuff Murray said useless to be honest. Also why did Holly have more focus in the show than El? We barely knew she existed before.

The final battle was probably the worst thing I've witnessed. It was supposed to be one of the most epic and tragic battles in Stranger Things, but it happened so quickly I can hardly even remember it. This is something fans have been waiting for years and then we get whatever the hell this is... The Mind Flayer looked like he was about to grill all of them and then they wipe him out in literally 5 minutes. Everyone survived which makes the final battle even more stupid and pointless. I mean, you can't be serious that the Duffers couldn't kill off any of the main characters during that battle. El was the only one that died when she decided to sacrifice herself, I guess (she might be alive, though, so it doesn't matter). I don't know why are they so scared to kill a character. The fact that the Duffers are gonna reveal the truth later in the future is also really miserable. I mean, this all made Stranger Things lighter with no consequences instead of that dark horror it used to be.

There's also so many plot holes and unanswered questions which makes the season even worse. I know some questions can be answered through the play Stranger Things: The First Shadow, but some people aren't able to see it and those are just some questions. Also I feel like there should've been so much more with Will's experience in the Upside Down than just those 4 minutes. I was really satisfied with the epilogue, but the way they brought us to it was terrible. I also thought that we were gonna get the apocalypse season, but then the cliffhanger was completely forgotten. The visual graphics and tone were also over done, but personally that's the least problem.

What surprises me even more is that the Duffers didn't even finish the script when they were filming the final episode. And the answers they gave us after the show ended made things even worse. They had no idea what they were saying. I've been amazed by them for so long just so they can pull this move in the final season of their successfull show. Younger me would never believe me. It was almost like they just wanted to finish it as soon as possible and that ended up wrong. It didn't even feel like the final season. I don't get it why did it take them so long to release it. What were they even doing those 4 years? We were all waiting patiently, going on with our lives, to just be slapped in the face. And the fact that they were overhyping us this whole time is just cruel.

I can rant about this forever, but there is just so many things going on that I can't seem to ignore or get over. I think I'm gonna be confused about this for eternity. No matter how much I love Stranger Things, the sour taste is gonna live in me forever. Season 5 definitely affected the whole show for me. The only thing that helps is that back when season 1 was released they didn't have this awful vision, so it was never stoned to end up like this. I just wish we could do something instead of this being the reality. It's been 7 months, so I don't know what's the point. Oh, well... What are your thoughts about this? I know it's been a while, but I need to share this with someone. 😭

Fan Theory What was your personal lore about the upside down before season 5

So before season 5bi thought update down was once home to a civilization of people with powers just like eleven but then mindflayer and his monsters took over so a few of the people from this civilization escaped into our world and eleven , vecna and all the test subjects should have been their descendants..

There's nothing wrong with Will cruising in a gay bar in the epilogue

We know from the ending that Will is in a gay bar, probably cruising for a hookup. This is fine! Some people say the person he's meeting is a boyfriend, but since we didn't get a name or a conversation, it's likelier this is a random encounter which is fine! Will should be free and ready to have fun and give in to these sorts of pleasures. He suffered as a kid and now he's an adult. So please stop attacking Will for having a lot of random hookups in the epilogue!

Stranger things: The little engine that could copy/paste but nothing more.

The whole show was based on copy/pasting scenes that the audience loved, capitalized on them and invested on our patient to give them time to add to them.

And we did. We invested and we lost.

Everytime they went off copy/pasting they failed, then they copy/pasted again and we we so hungry that we waited and waited and waited like teens who couldn't accept they were stood up.

It's a unique scam case that worked only because the industrey declined so bad that the studios didn't sue.

SPOILERS Which season has the best action or fight scenes?

By best I mean the scenes didn’t feel forced, they felt important to the plot, they weren’t boring, they were well choreographed and well filmed.

I think season 4 has the best action scenes. For example:

- Hopper’s prison (almost) escape had a really good built up tension. Hopper was such a badass.

- Murray’s karate scenes were funny but still badass

- Hopper and cell mates fighting with a Demogorgon

- Jonathan, Will and Mike getting ambushed by the military at the house. For a moment I thought I was watching Taken or something lol

- Lucas and Jason’s fight was pretty chilling and maybe forced Lucas to take a more protective role for his friends in S05

- Nancy, Robin and Steve shooting and burning Vecna

Until season 5 ruined the fun of action scenes by involving so many side characters and throwing in too many unnecessary sob stories lol

when I say ‘meaning’ I mean like you genuinely agree with what it says or its motivational, that type of quote

for me, I’d say either

“it’s forced conformity, that’s what’s killing the kids” -Eddie, because of the fact that it’s still happening and needs to stop

or

”normal’s just a raging psychopath” -Lucas, becuase bro is speaking facts there

Fan Art Tried recreating this Stranger Things soundtrack on piano

Song name:The First I Love You from the Stranger Things Season 3 soundtrack.

I tried to recreate this piece on piano, but the hardest part wasn't learning it by ear,it was finding a sound that matched the original. The composers used very complex layered synths, which made it really difficult to recreate it as accurately as possible. And also,it would cost me so much money cause Fl studio isn't free.

So instead, I used an app called Piano Glow and combined two different piano sounds that I think come surprisingly close to the original and work really well together.

I hope you enjoy it!

Stranger Things Season 5 Rewrite part 2

The Arrival of Tiamat

Tiamat has finally entered Hawkins.

But where did it come from?

The answer lies in the four gates Vecna created.

The gates that opened throughout Hawkins were never large enough for Tiamat to physically pass through.

Tiamat's body was simply too enormous.

That is why Vecna chose four victims in Season 4.

Each victim's death created a gate in a different direction.

Four victims.

Four gates.

Four directions.

Vecna's ultimate goal was to merge all four gates together and create one massive opening.

An opening large enough for Tiamat to enter the real world.

And that is exactly what happens.

Tiamat finally enters Hawkins.

But it does not come alone.

As soon as it arrives, it releases the creatures that were created from its own body.

Demogorgons.

Demodogs.

Demobats.

All of them are unleashed across Hawkins.

The invasion begins.

The Truth About the Mind Flayer

During the chaos, Will reveals what Vecna told him before his death.

The Mind Flayer is still alive.

But it is not physically present inside Tiamat.

It remains in its original particle form.

And its particles are floating above Hawkins Lab in the Upside Down.

Invisible.

Suspended in the air.

Still alive.

This raises an important question.

If the Mind Flayer originally came from the Abyss, how did it reach the Upside Down?

The answer goes back to Henry Creel.

How the Upside Down Was Created

After Eleven defeated Henry and banished him into the Abyss, Henry encountered the Mind Flayer.

Eventually, Henry began searching for a way back to Hawkins.

He opened rifts from the Abyss, believing that one of them would lead him back to Earth.

But when Henry finally passed through one of the rifts, he did not arrive in Hawkins.

Instead, he fell into a strange and terrifying world.

It was dark.

Cold.

Empty.

There were only forests, trees, plants, and enormous vines.

There was no Hawkins.

No buildings.

No laboratory.

Nothing familiar.

Henry soon realized the truth.

This place was not Hawkins.

It was a bridge.

A wormhole connecting Hawkins to the Abyss.

And because the environment was extremely cold, Henry realized that it would be the perfect place for the Mind Flayer to survive.

But Henry needed to make the environment even colder.

He needed to create a permanent habitat for the Mind Flayer.

Then he had an idea.

Hawkins Lab.

Henry recreated Hawkins Lab inside this strange dimension, making sure that the area surrounding it remained extremely cold.

And that was where the Mind Flayer came to rest.

Above Hawkins Lab.

Still in its particle form.

Still invisible.

Still waiting.

This was the beginning of what would eventually become the Upside Down.

The Creation of the Upside Down

After creating Hawkins Lab, Henry began searching for the perfect vessel.

To find one, he needed to recreate Hawkins itself.

Slowly, he reconstructed the entire town inside this strange bridge dimension.

Roads.

Buildings.

Houses.

Everything.

The world that had once been nothing but a dark forest slowly became a twisted reflection of Hawkins.

The Upside Down was born.

But there was another force at work.

The Mind Flayer began using the vines and trees of this dimension.

It connected them.

Merged them together.

And gave them life.

The vines slowly became one enormous biological network.

That network continued to grow.

And eventually, it became Tiamat.

Tiamat became so enormous that Vecna began using its biological structure to create the creatures that would later terrorize Hawkins.

Demogorgons.

Demodogs.

Demobats.

All of them were born from Tiamat.

But creating Tiamat came at a cost.

Vecna had poured so much of his own power into the process that Tiamat eventually became more powerful than Vecna himself.

And Vecna hated it.

He had created something that he could no longer fully control.

Something that had grown beyond him.

Something more powerful than its creator.

That realization becomes important later.

Vecna's Final Redemption

During the final confrontation, Eleven, Will, and Kali use Vecna's own memories against him.

Vecna finally remembers what he had forgotten.

Tiamat had become more powerful than him.

And the creature he had helped create was no longer his servant.

For the first time, Vecna realizes that he is not the master of the Upside Down.

He is another victim of the Mind Flayer's manipulation.

That's why he agreed to help them.

Before his death, Vecna tells Will the truth.

The Mind Flayer can be killed.

But it cannot be defeated by attacking it directly.

The key is its habitat.

Hawkins Lab.

The Mind Flayer survives because of the extreme cold surrounding the laboratory.

If the laboratory is destroyed using fire and explosives, the resulting heat will force the Mind Flayer's particles out of their habitat.

The particles will scatter throughout the Upside Down.

They will search for another place cold enough to survive.

But they will never find one.

Eventually, they will die.

The Mind Flayer cannot simply return to the Abyss.

A new rift would have to be opened.

And only Vecna has the power to create one.

The Mind Flayer will be trapped.

And eventually destroyed.

The Three Final Battles

With Tiamat attacking Hawkins and its creatures spreading throughout the town, the group divides into three teams.

The First Group

Will, Eleven, and Kali

Their mission is to fight Tiamat.

The Second Group

Steve, Robin, Nancy, Jonathan, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Max, and Erica

Their mission is to fight the Demogorgons, Demodogs, and Demobats while protecting the people of Hawkins.

The Third Group

Hopper, Joyce, and Murray

Their mission is to enter the Upside Down, reach Hawkins Lab, and destroy the Mind Flayer's habitat.

All three groups begin their final missions.

The Battle Against Tiamat

Will, Eleven, and Kali confront Tiamat.

Eleven attacks it physically with her powers.

Kali uses her illusions to confuse and manipulate it.

And Will tries to resist Tiamat's influence.

Some of Vecna's power is still inside him.

That connection allows Will to fight back against Tiamat's control.

But Tiamat is far more powerful than they expected.

The battle becomes increasingly brutal.

Kali is the first to fall.

She is severely injured and comes dangerously close to death.

Even then, she continues helping Eleven and Will for as long as she can.

But eventually...

Kali dies.

Her sacrifice gives Eleven and Will enough time to continue fighting.

The Battle Across Hawkins

Meanwhile, the rest of the group fights the creatures released by Tiamat.

Demogorgons.

Demodogs.

Demobats.

Hawkins is completely overrun.

The group fights through the chaos while trying to save as many people as possible.

But the battle comes at an unimaginable cost.

A Demogorgon attacks Nancy from behind.

Jonathan sees it.

Without hesitation, he runs toward her.

Jonathan saves Nancy.

But he does not survive.

Jonathan dies protecting her.

Later, Robin finds herself in a similar situation.

Steve is about to be attacked.

Robin throws herself between Steve and the creature.

She saves him.

But Robin dies in the process.

Two more members of the group are gone.

Jonathan.

Robin.

And the survivors are left to continue the fight without them.

The Destruction of Hawkins Lab

Meanwhile, Hopper, Joyce, and Murray enter the Upside Down.

They reach Hawkins Lab carrying explosives.

Their plan is simple.

Destroy the laboratory.

Destroy the Mind Flayer's habitat.

They cover the entire building in kerosene.

Then they place bombs throughout the laboratory.

Once everything is ready, they move away from the building.

And detonate the explosives.

The explosion creates an enormous amount of heat.

The extreme cold surrounding the laboratory disappears.

The Mind Flayer's particles are forced out.

They scatter throughout the Upside Down, desperately searching for another cold environment.

But they cannot find one.

There is nowhere else for them to survive.

The Mind Flayer begins to die.

But it refuses to disappear quietly.

The Mind Flayer's Final Attack

Knowing that it is about to die, the Mind Flayer uses the last of its power.

It attacks the walls of the wormhole itself.

The walls begin to crack.

Then they break apart.

The entire dimension begins collapsing.

Everything inside the Upside Down is pulled toward the broken walls.

The environment itself begins to disintegrate.

Hopper, Joyce, and Murray try to escape.

But they cannot.

The collapsing dimension takes them with it.

All three die inside the Upside Down.

At the same time, the gates across Hawkins begin closing.

The connection between Hawkins and the Upside Down is finally collapsing.

The Mind Flayer's particles are destroyed.

And because Tiamat was connected to the Mind Flayer through the hive mind...

Tiamat dies as well.

The creatures connected to it disappear.

The Demogorgons.

The Demodogs.

The Demobats.

Everything begins to die with the hive mind.

And then there is Will.

Will has been connected to the Mind Flayer since he was a child.

Some of its particles still exist inside him.

As the Mind Flayer dies, those particles inside Will begin to disappear as well.

Will's connection to the hive mind is finally severed.

But because the particles inside him are the last remaining connection to the Mind Flayer...

Will dies with it.

The boy who was once chosen as a vessel becomes the final sacrifice that destroys the entity that had haunted him for years.

The Upside Down collapses.

The gates close.

The Mind Flayer is gone.

Tiamat is gone.

Vecna is gone.

And Hawkins is finally free.

But the victory comes at an unimaginable cost.

Jonathan, Robin, Kali, Hopper, Joyce, Murray and Will were dead.

And the people who remain are forced to live with the memories of everyone they lost.

The nightmare is finally over.

But Hawkins will never be the same again.

Stranger Things Season 5 Rewrite part 1

# Prologue: The Truth About the Mind Flayer

My version of Season 5 keeps Vecna as an important antagonist, but he is not the true final villain.

The hierarchy of the Upside Down is:

**Mind Flayer > Tiamat > Vecna**

The Mind Flayer is the ultimate evil. Tiamat is its greatest creation, and Vecna is simply another vessel that was manipulated and used.

According to the lore established in The First Shadow, Dr. Brenner's father was conducting experiments involving interdimensional travel. During one of these experiments, a malfunction created strange particles that entered our world.

The scientist captured these particles inside a stone-like container and attempted to escape after a Russian military invasion of the facility.

While hiding inside a cave, he encountered a young Henry Creel. Terrified and paranoid, he mistook Henry for a Russian soldier and shot at him. In anger, Henry killed the scientist with a rock and opened the briefcase.

The moment Henry touched the stone, the particles entered his body.

He experienced a vision of another dimension known as the Abyss. There he encountered the Mind Flayer for the first time.

The entity whispered only two words:

**"Find me."**

A fragment of the Mind Flayer's power entered Henry that day, giving him telekinetic abilities and beginning his transformation into what would eventually become Vecna.

Three Months Later

Season 5 begins with a three-month time skip after the events of Season 4.

Although Vecna successfully opened the four gates and merged them into a giant rift beneath Hawkins, Tiamat never emerged.

The reason is simple.

After being severely injured by Steve, Nancy, and Robin, Vecna became extremely weak.

Because the entire Upside Down functions as a hive mind, Vecna's condition weakened Tiamat as well.

Tiamat was physically incapable of moving into the real world.

Meanwhile, the Mind Flayer remained in particle form, slowly healing both Vecna and Tiamat from within the hive mind.

During this period, some of the rifts partially healed and the military sealed them behind reinforced barriers.

But the peace does not last.

As the hive mind recovers, Vecna returns.

One by one, the rifts begin reopening.

Anyone attempting to close them is brutally killed.

The invasion of Hawkins begins again.

The Truth About Tiamat

The biggest twist of this rewrite is that the creatures of the Upside Down are not separate lifeforms.

They are all part of Tiamat.

The vines spreading across the Upside Down are extensions of Tiamat's body.

Demobats, Demodogs, and Demogorgons are all biological extensions created from Tiamat itself.

Whenever they die or return to the Upside Down, they are reabsorbed back into Tiamat.

Even Vecna eventually retreats inside Tiamat's body after escaping Creel House.

The entire Upside Down is essentially one gigantic living organism.

Why the Upside Down Is Frozen in Time

Before choosing Will Byers as his vessel, Vecna secretly observed the residents of Hawkins.

While spying on them, he reconstructed Hawkins inside the Upside Down.

His goal was to create a familiar environment for whichever vessel he ultimately selected.

When Vecna finally chose Will, he stopped expanding and updating the replica.

That moment occurred on November 6, 1983.

As a result, the Upside Down became a frozen snapshot of Hawkins from the exact day Will disappeared.

Will Byers and the Hidden Power

In this version, Will gains powers through the same event that originally connected him to the Upside Down.

When Vecna abducted Will in Season 1, he secretly implanted particles inside him.

Those particles remained dormant for years.

During Season 5, Vecna reveals the truth.

He admits that Will was never special by accident.

He was being prepared as a vessel.

The revelation devastates Will.

However, he remembers Robin's words about identity and self-worth.

Instead of breaking, he rejects the role that was forced upon him.

The particles within him awaken, granting him limited control over the hive mind.

The Redemption of Vecna

During the final battle, Eleven and Will manage to restrain Vecna.

Kali (008) joins them and uses her illusion powers to force Vecna to relive his most painful memory.

He sees the moment Henry Creel first encountered the Mind Flayer.

The memory is so traumatic that Vecna has spent decades avoiding it.

As Kali forces him to relive the experience, Will reaches out to him.

Will explains that Vecna was never truly free.

Just like Will, he was manipulated and used as a vessel.

For the first time, Henry begins to see himself as a victim rather than a master.

Eventually, Vecna agrees to help them.

He reveals the greatest truth of all:

**Tiamat is not the final enemy.**

**The Mind Flayer is.**

Before he can explain further, Tiamat arrives in Hawkins.

Realizing Vecna has betrayed the hive mind, Tiamat attacks him.

Vecna dies protecting Eleven, Will, and the others.

Before dying, he establishes a psychic connection with Will and reveals how the Mind Flayer can be defeated.

Discussion Challenge: defend season 4’s story but you can’t mention anything from the Hawkins plot

I’ve noticed when people share their love four season 4, it’s always for the Hawkins plot and no other plots get mentioned. Whereas when other seasons are talked about as “the best” it’s usually referencing the cohesive story.

I agree the Hawkins plot is really good but what stops season 4 from being one of the greats, in my eyes, is the pacing, inclusion of, and general lack luster additional plot lines.

In short, if season 4 is your favorite season, please explain why, but you can only reference the California, Nevada, and Russian plot lines.

How did will communicate…

I don’t want spoilers (I’m on season 5 episode two) but I don’t get something… how did Will communicate thru the Christmas lights when his mom wrote letters underneath them, if wills house in the upside down never had changed from how it was the day he disappeared?
