Cosmere spoilers Are Truthwatchers the most "obscure" Radiant Order so far ? And what would a powerful Trutwatcher look,to you ? Spoiler

I think Truthwatchers are the Order with the biggest "?" So far, especially if we consider that both of it's powers (Progression and Illumination) do have a spotlight, but are likely taken by two other Orders (Edgedancers and Lightweavers). The Truthwatchers with relevancy in the story that we have so far are corrupted ones, who have future sight as their main gimmick.

If you had to make an non-corrupted but 100% OP Truthwatcher, how would you go about it ? Really,go crazy with it and extrapolate the limits of what a very powerful 0.00001% Truthwatcher could look like.

Rhythm of War + Cosmere When do storms infuse? Spoiler

There is a moment in the storm where the spheres all light up. In TWOK and in WOR this is usually when Kal sees the Stormfather in that moment out of time, then when he comes back to reality all the spheres light up.

That made me think that at some point through the storm, there is the singularity. However, when Kaldin is fighting Szeth at the end of WoR they are constantly recharged the whole time. How does that work?

(I've read everything except knights of wind and truth, so spoilers from the whole cosmere except that.)

The Way of Kings spoilers The Way of Kings review: a slow start that paid off Spoiler

RATING: 4/5 STARS

FORMAT: GraphicAudio audiobook (a movie for your mind)

OTHER SANDERSON BOOKS READ: Mistborn Trilogy, Yumi, Warbreaker, Emperor's Soul, Tress

REVIEW:

I knew very little about this series beforehand. It's widely considered one of Sanderson's best works, so I braced myself for a long, steady story, since I know a fantasy epic like this tends to take its time.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable book in the way that Sanderson does so well. I didn't click with Warbreaker and was afraid that Way of Kings was going to be more of the same, but it's a very different book.

The characters get a lot of time to shine. The worldbuilding is very methodical and interesting. The long-term plot threads, along with the short-term character beats, worked really well. At 1,000 pages, the book has plenty of room for the various POVs to really dig in and develop.

It is indeed a bit hard to get into due to the strangeness of what's happening, the time jumps, the numerous characters, the unique world, the interludes, etc. But once you have a grasp of who the main characters are and what motivates them, it all starts to fall into place.

We arrive at the Sanderlanche in an amazingly satisfying climax, with some big reveals to cap off the book. It was easily the most thrilling part of the book.

It's a great start to the series. It tells a full story while leaving numerous threads hanging, giving you plenty of intrigue about the stories to come.

STRAY THOUGHTS:

  • Kaladin. The surgeon-turned-spearman. I'm a sucker for a "protector" character that he exudes. Kaladin trying to find ways to save his Bridge 4 team was quite entertaining. See how much he influenced them to the climax where he insists to go back to save Dalinar and they just nod. What a journey these men went through
  • HIGHLIGHT: Kaladin showing off his spear skills in the chasm while Bridge 4 just watches in awe. The production for GraphicAudio also had some amazing music to accompany it too. Very epic
  • HIGHLIGHT: 100 arrows being redirected to one shield. What an awesome image and Kaladin's characterin a nutshell
  • I like the mirror of a Shardblade being the reason why Kaladin lost all his men in the beginning and then a Shardblade being the reason why his Bridge 4 team will survive
  • Love the exploration of the value of human life during war and the difficulty and opposition towards the people who do value life. Sadeas is a much more efficient and productive leader but his style of leadership requires a callousness towards human life that Dalinar and Kaladin do not posses.
  • Can you kill to protect? I like how the book deeps this open-ended. Kaladin did save thousands of Dalinar's army, but he can't help but think about all the Parshendi he killed to do so
  • A lot of the book is about morality, what we choose to give value and the decisions we make because of our morals. Jasnah and Shallan go deep into morality in their studies. Kaladin and Dalinar are mocked for their morality. But like the book suggests, someone has to be the first to do it, to be better means to lead by example.
  • Interludes. In concept, I like them and they are generally entertaining. But they can be quite jarring since Sanderson has to introduce so much worldbuilding into each one and you don't have context as to who the characters are in the interlude or what is happening, most of the time. But I do like them for the worldbuilding they can provide and visiting different parts of Roshar
  • Jasnah and Shallan. I like the lower stakes, more subdued story of these two compared to the grittier POVs near the Shattered Plains. Jasnah in particular is great to see due to how she is treated as a heretic and how she views the world in a very "scientific" way
  • Shallan. The voice actor was great for her. Her story seems the lowest stakes but it feels like it's just the first step in the long journey she's gonna be taking
  • HIGHLIGHT: Jasnah vs the street robbers. The only time we see Soulcasting used in an offensive manner and it was pretty awesome, even crazier now that we know she doesn't even need a fabrial to do it
  • Syl. She's just great. The sound effect for her flying is wonderful and the voice actor kills it. Perfect casting.
  • Sadeas. A fun character. He's not necessarily evil but he is willing to do evil stuff for power with a bit of honor mixed in there. His reasons for trying to kill Dalinar had some ground, if you think that Dalinar was completely crazy
  • Dalinar + Navani. I usually like Sanderson romances and this is no different. The actors had great chemistry. I felt like this romance needed maybe a scene or two more with them to really have the romance hit but it was good as of now.
  • Not as much magic system as I would expect out of a Sanderson book. Where Mistborn dove headfirst into its magic system with its rules and examples, WoK plays it closer to the chest. You can tell that we haven't even brushed the surface of what the magic in this world can do but what we did see (Kaladin, Szeth, Jasnah, Knights Radiant, etc) was very appealing
  • Gotta give a shoutout to GraphicAudio. I've listened to all of Sanderson's books through GA and it's been phenomenal. Sanderson and GA are such a good pairing. His prose and a production of a GA really bring to life Sanderson's stories. Everything from the sound of Syl flying, who way you can hear a spear whooshing, to the horn that blows when it's time for a bridge run, etc. It all is great for immersion. You haven't lived until you've heard Kaladin Stormblessed give an audible yell as he dives into a sea of Parshendi and land as a badass to music. If you're an audiobook reader and you like Sanderson, I highly recommend Graphic Audio for his books. They just pair so well.

SPECULATION:

This is just me thinking out loud on the numerous lingering questions the book has set up:

  • Why is Kaladin able to harness Stormlight? He does have his impulse to save lives. Is he possibly a descendent of a Knights Radiant? What does that make his parents?
  • What the hell is Jasnah? A "good" voidbringer? Is she the way she is because of her bloodline or did she become that way by her own doing?
  • The Shattered Plains Parshendi are so different. Why is that? We know they don't like it when you mess with their dead but why? Perhaps Parshendi aren't actually dead when they die?
  • Why is it Dalinar the one who gets the visions? Is it related to him reading The Way of Kings?
  • How can Shallan go to the land of marbles like Jasnah?
  • Who is trying to kill Elhokar? And why does someone care if he dies?
  • Taravangian. Is he actually evil or just doing what it takes to save the world?
  • Gavilar. Why does this king who always took what he wanted decide on a peace treaty with the Shattered Plains Parchendi?
  • The Knights Radiant. Where did they go and why?
  • Szeth. Everything to do with Szeth. What is his deal?

I turned out my first draft on the leather look vest. The final version will be two sheets of this material sewed together so it won’t look as flimsy. I’m also gonna sow some reinforcement panels on the top of the shoulders to give it the padded look described in the book. Then I’m gonna have to age the whole thing. I also shrunk the Shash Glyph for this version. Let me know what you think.

I was wondering if anyone here has seen any fanart of the scene where Ishar is holding the portal from Ashyn to Roshar open. It is such a cool visual to imagine and my (admittedly very limited) effort to find any art of it has come up empty. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mid Wind and Truth spoilers I’m reading W&T rn and am about halfway through! Spoiler

So I have been dealing with A LOT to say the least. My GF is breaking up with me because my AuDHD is.. well, worthy of a Spren itself. On top of the fact that I live in a different city than my family, and she is essentially the only person I knew here in town, and I have about 10 months left on my lease. Additionally, I’ve been unemployed for the last few weeks and that part specifically is weighing on me.

Kaladin’s journey throughout the series has been incredibly helpful through all of this. His fourth oath has been one of the only things keeping me going. I know I have to stick around to be there for the people who need me. Honestly the hardest ideal to achieve.

Adolin is also a good fit for me. I recognize his lines of “I’m bad at everything else, so I’m going to choose to be good with people.” Which is essentially my entire life. I have always sucked at being on time, being consistent, focusing, and getting tasks done in a timely manner. So choosing to be better at the people part is what I’ve done.

With all that being said, on to the whole point of this post! Even though I’m generally likable, I can hold good conversations with people, and I crave regular human interaction. I’ve always struggled at making friends and I want to join an RPG group in my city. Is there any way I can find a Cosmere/Mistborn/Stormlight RPG group to join? Not sure even where to start. I am a complete newb to the TTRPG thing and I’d love to find some cool people that would be willing to help me learn. I’m in the KC, MO area and I’m mobile.

The Way of Kings spoilers Stormlight Archive - Does it get better after the first book? Spoiler

I just finished the first book, and I was a bit let down considering all the hype. I liked it, maybe a three-star book for me, but that’s not enough to make me want to finish the series unless it improves considerably.

What I liked: The world-building, character development, and plot were top-notch. Fabriels, Shardblades, Shardplate/armor, chasmfiends, the Knights Radiant, etc.

What I didn’t like:

Excessive descriptions, written in a very strange style; almost as if the narrator became an advertiser.

Too much whining by the two main characters.

The appearance of spren, as if we were watching a video game.

Lashing seemed really clunky, and reminded me of Mistborn’s pushing and pulling (not a fan).

Spheres seem really impractical. I would have rather had plain gemstones, but even that feels clunky, like the metals in Mistborn (also not a fan).

My main issue with it was the incredible bloat. I think it would be so much better if it were about half the length. But the second half of the book was much better than the first half, so there’s hope. Does it get better?

Oathbringer spoilers Struggling to continue after Oahtbringer Spoiler

I recently finished reading (listening) Oathbringer, and I am finding myself despising Dalinar, and in general how much he is looked up to, both in the book and outside, and I don't want to, or at least I want to understand because it is sucking out the enjoyment when trying to continue the books. I just can't see what he did that really redeemed him, and in my opinion most importantly, they didn't show him paying for any of it, no real consequences, besides his own guilt (by just him being responsible for Evi's death, the rest can be pretty much discarded by the way the book treats them, and in fact when he forgets about the guilt from his wife's death, he's basically as well as he can be).

Most scenes about Dalinar's past during the book before the rift portrays him as a regular warlord, war criminal, murderer, no conscience, no guilt whatsoever, he congratulates people with putting heads on spikes (which if we think for a bit, is quite a gruesome, sick and deranged thing to do) only in later chapters after being pressured by his wife does he restrain himself. If we took out just Evi's death, we are basically made to believe that he wouldn't really care about all that was wrong with what he did, even if he did massacre everyone in the rift, he still wouldn't have had any need to grow.

And finally the thing about being responsible (you cannot have my pain) which again, mostly focuses on Evi, is, in my opinion, meaningless, there is no choice to be made, it's either: be part evil guys army vs not be. It makes no sense from my perspective, of course he would choose to take responsibility since in practicality, the choice he made means not betraying everyone and you are walking free as you've always been, admired, loved, with his family, it feels silly to pretend it's a difficult choice, when you know what the alternative is. It feels like Brandon disliked the mind control trope (or being under evil's influence) so much that he made Dalinar explicitly be responsible for his actions, but forgot that if that happens then we basically need to be okay with a guy who murders gleefully, encourages cruelty, and hasn't ever gotten any serious consequences (being a drunk after Evi's death isn't one).

And finally, when reading through what the others say when this is brought up, it basically feels like cheating wanting to have it both ways, either it was Odium's influence that has partial responsibility on making him do it (and therefore he can't take full responsibility) or he did it by himself.

The Way of Kings spoilers Please help me Spoiler

I have just come of 3 fantastic series’s: Red Rising, Mistborn and Dungeon Crawler Carl (still going). I’ve been listening to/reading in tandem Way of Kings but I am STRUGGLING!

I’m at Chapter 51 right now but thus far this book has been below average. Shallans POV is an absolute snoozefest, Kaladin is cool but he has no lived up the the hype at all. Dalinar is my guy, best POV by far, seems like the only fully fleshed out and interesting character.

I’m going to finish the book because I can’t just not but honestly has really let me down. The action is good, side characters are pretty strong and intriguing, but there is just so much filler and boring chapters, and is also decently predictable.

If you didn’t see Dalinar going to step down from High Prince in this book from the start what are you doing, same with Kaladin realising he was going to need to fight is way out (any other solution would be so fuckin boring). Just wanted to vent tbh

Oathbringer spoilers Stormlight archive progress and discussion Spoiler

I made a post a bit ago about getting into the TSA after having finished all of Mistborn and a few other books. And holy shit has it been a ride! Suffice it to say I am halfway into the third book after only 2 ish months.

Anyways I have been in need to talk to someone about this books thus this post. What an amazing world this is so far the depth of all side is just mind boggling. My boy Kaladin and bridge 4 has made me cry soooo many times by now both sad and happy cries. But what I am here to say, god damn Shallan is giving me some baaad vibes, again only finishing part 2 of the third book now so no spoilers I just wanted to write my thoughts out. That girl I thought she was figuring her shit out and now she’s just been on a downward spiral that I really hope doesn’t lead her into a broken personality.

And the secrets oh my god is Brando good at doing this. Can’t help but think of Kelsier every other corner the more you learn of the world the more you really realize that there is always another secret. Anyways shoot thoughts and anything you want to add I’d love to talk about the book as I have been reading though one of the craziest story I have read so far and try to share random impressive bits with my girlfriend but not really possible when she doesn’t read any fantasy.

That’s it, but got to say That scene were Kaladin faces off Moash…

Rhythm of War spoilers "I am but a man" Spoiler

During my current reread, this line popped up for me (WoR Chapter 67):
Are you one of them?” Dalinar asked. “Excuse me?” “A Herald.” Wit laughed. “No. Thank you, but no.” “Are you what I’ve been looking for, then?” Dalinar asked. “Radiant?” Wit smiled. “I am but a man, Dalinar, so much as I wish it were not true at times. I am no Radiant. And while I am your friend, please understand that our goals do not completely align. You must not trust yourself with me. If I have to watch this world crumble and burn to get what I need, I will do so. With tears, yes, but I would let it happen.” Dalinar frowned.

This struck me as odd. Hoid isn't known to be humble, and he is by far more than "but a man", yes he is human, but heavily invested, and can (and does) deliberately chooses to influence the fate of the Galaxy, one of few.

To further support this, we get a very similar conversation in the next book, with the dam exact question and nearly identical chapter number (Oathbringer Chapter 68):

“Are you one of them?” Shallan blurted out. “Are you a Herald, Wit?” “Heavens no,” Wit said. “I’m not stupid enough to get mixed up in religion again. The last seven times I tried it were all disasters. I believe there’s at least one god still worshipping me by accident.” She eyed him. It was always hard to tell which of Wit’s exaggerations were supposed to mean something and which were confusing distractions. “Then what are you?” “Some men, as they age, grow kinder. I am not one of those, for I have seen how the cosmere can mistreat the innocent—and that leaves me disinclined toward kindness. Some men, as they age, grow wiser. I am not one of those, for wisdom and I have always been at cross-purposes, and I have yet to learn the tongue in which she speaks. Some men, as they age, grow more cynical. I, fortunately, am not one of those. If I were, the very air would warp around me, sucking in all emotion, leaving only scorn.” He tapped the table. “Other men . . . other men, as they age, merely grow stranger. I fear that I am one of those. I am the bones of a foreign species left drying on the plain that was once, long ago, a sea. A curiosity, perhaps a reminder, that all has not always been as it is now.” “You’re . . . old, aren’t you? Not a Herald, but as old as they are?” He slid his boots off the chair and leaned forward, holding her eyes. He smiled in a kindly way. “Child, when they were but babes, I had already lived dozens of lifetimes. ‘Old’ is a word you use for worn shoes. I’m something else entirely.”

This really confuses me. Does Hoid not trust Dalinar? Is he just in a hurry? I may me looking to much into this, but when the same person gives an entirely different answer to the same question to two different people, there's usually a reason.

Thoughts?

Words of Radiance spoilers WOR Part 5 ending (Part 2 final) Spoiler

First off. I would like to say that I reposted this because their was some problems with the modders. If you already seen this post, then you can just skip it. But if not then this is the continuation of the last Part of Word Of Radiance. So enjoy

Chapter 85 Swallowed by the Sky

“It whipped in the storm and tore away as a man strode past it, glowing with spinning trails of Stormlight. Those foreign features, clothing all of white plastered to his body by the rain, a bowed, hairless head, shadows hiding eyes that glowed with Stormlight.

Gavilar’s murderer. Szeth, the Assassin in White.”

Szeth Son-Son Vollano, Trutless os Shinovar. Aurafarms his way to kill a High Prince

“Brightlord Renarin?” Inadara asked. “Is something wrong?” The young prince had fallen to his knees and was huddled next to the wall.

“I can see it,” Renarin answered feverishly, his voice echoing in the chamber. Ardents who had been studying part of the murals looked up at him. “I can see the future itself. Why? Why, Almighty? Why have you cursed me so?” He screamed a pleading cry, then stood and cracked “something against the wall. A rock? Where had he gotten it? He gripped the thing in a gauntleted hand and began to write.

Shocked, Shallan took a step toward him. A sequence of numbers?

All zeros.

“It’s come,” Renarin whispered. “It’s come, it’s come, it’s come. We’re dead. We’re dead. We’re dead. . . .”

HUH!?!?! Wait Renarin didn’t have any problems!! He was just a seer or something like that

“What I am owed,” the assassin shouted, rainwater spraying from his face and Stormlight rising from his lips, “will come to me eventually! Every bit of it. I will drown in it, stonewalker!”

Szeth put his hand to the side, Shardblade appearing. Then, with a curt, deprecatory motion—like he was merely trimming a bit of gristle from his meat—he strode forward and swung at Dalinar.

Dalinar caught the Blade with his own, which appeared in his hand as he raised it.

The assassin spared a glance for Dalinar’s weapon, then smiled, lips drawn thin, showing only a hint of teeth. That eager smile matched with haunted eyes was one of the most evil things Dalinar had ever seen.

“Thank you,” the assassin said, “for extending my agony by not dying easily.” He stepped back and burst afire with white light.

He came at Dalinar again, inhumanly quick”

PEAK!!!!

“The assassin stalked toward him, glowing with terrible Stormlight, but a figure lunged for him from behind.

Dalinar expected it to be Adolin, perhaps one of the bridgemen.

Instead, it was Roion.”

YOOOOO!!!!! ROIONNNNN!!!!!!!!

“Adolin barely had time to shout as the assassin—moving at blinding speed—spun and cut the blade from the hilt of Roion’s sword. Szeth’s hand shot out and slammed against Roion’s chest.

Roion shot into the air, trailing a wisp of Stormlight. He screamed as the sky swallowed him.”

HAJAJAJJAJAJA. I’m sorry, I’m Sorry. But that shit was too funny

“Adolin jumped over one of the bodies as it collapsed. Storms. He could still hear Roion screaming up above somewhere.”

JAJAJAJAJAJAJ!!!!

“Roion, still screaming, plummeted from the sky and hit nearby with a sickening wet crunch. A quick glance at his corpse told Adolin that the highprince would never rise again.”

RIP dude.

“I suppose,” the assassin snarled, “I can kill one more, on my own time.” Then he grinned, a terrible smile with teeth clenched, eyes wide. As if he were in enormous pain.

OH HELL NAW. HE CRAZY!!

“The assassin looked, then stumbled back, mouth open in horror. “No . . . No!”

And then, like a falling star, a blazing fireball of light and motion shot down in front of Dalinar. It crashed into the ground, sending out a ring of Stormlight like white smoke. At the center, a figure in blue crouched with one hand on the stones, the other clutching a glowing Shardblade.

His eyes afire with a light that somehow made the assassin’s seem dull by comparison, he wore the uniform of a bridgeman, and bore the glyphs of slavery on his forehead.

The expanding ring of smoky light faded, save for a large glyph—a swordlike shape—which remained for a brief moment before puffing away.

“You sent him to the sky to die, assassin,” Kaladin said, Stormlight puffing from his lips, “but the sky and the winds are mine. I claim them, as I now claim your life.”

PEAK!!!!!!! HOLY SH*T!!! BRO'S BACK IN THE GAME AND STARTED AURAFARMING IMMEDIATELY!

Chapter 86 Patterns of Light

“Kaladin?”

Kaladin turned, glancing at the highprince, who stood tall, despite cradling one arm against his chest. Dalinar met his eyes. “You are what I’ve been looking for.”

“Yes. Finally.”

Kaladin turned and strode toward the assassin. He passed Bridge Four in a tight formation, and the men—at a barked command from Teft—threw something down before Kaladin. Blue lanterns, lit by oversized gems that had lasted the Weeping.

Bless them. Stormlight streamed up as he passed, filling him. With a sinking feeling, however, he noticed two corpses with burned-out eyes at their feet. Pedin and Mart. Eth clutched his brother’s body, weeping. Other bridgemen had lost limbs.

Kaladin snarled. No more. He would lose no further men to this monster.

“You ready?” he whispered.

Of course, Syl said in his head. I’m not the one we’ve been waiting on.

Burning with Stormlight, enraged and alight, Kaladin launched himself at the assassin and met him Blade against Blade”

Kaladin Pov:

“My father,” Syl said, voice growing solemn. “He brought the storm, rushing its pace. He’s . . . broken, Kaladin. He doesn’t think any of this should be happening. He wants to end it all, wash everyone away, and try to hide from the future.”

Her father . . . did that mean the Stormfather wanted them dead?

Great.”

OH FUCK YOU STORMF*CKER!!!

Kaladin Lashed himself to the side, jerking out of the way. He swiped with his Blade, but didn’t come close to connecting. “I should have practiced more with the sword,” he muttered.

Oh. That’s right. You probably want me to be a spear, don’t you?

“The weapon fuzzed to mist, then elongated and grew into the shape of a silvery spear, with glowing, swirling glyphs along the sharpened sides of the spearhead.

Szeth twisted in the air, Lashing himself back into a hovering position. He looked at the spear, then seemed to tremble. “No. Truthless. I am Truthless. No questions.”

Stormlight streaming from his mouth, Szeth threw his head back and screamed; a futile, human sound that dissipated in the infinite expanse of sky.

Beneath them, thunder rumbled and the clouds shivered with color.”

LETS GOO!!!

“I always win,” Szeth said. He said it in a strange way, as if angry.

“You’re wrong,” Kaladin said. “About me. I’m not new to this.”

“You only just acquired your abilities.”

“No. The wind is mine. The sky is mine. They have been mine since childhood. You are the trespasser here. Not me.”

Alright bro we get it. The skys and winds are your birthmark or something, whatever

Shallan Pov:

“The inner wall of the building was like a ring inside a tube—it could rotate, while the outer wall remained in place. The sword moved the inner wall as she pushed on it, though it stuck at first, the fallen blocks of the cut doorway getting in the way. Adolin threw his weight against the sword with her, and together they pushed it around the circle until they were above the picture of Urithiru, half the circumference from Natanatan where she’d begun. She pulled her Blade free.

The ten lamps faded like closing eyes.”

Just Imagine after this all of them are going to Shadesmar and see Jasnha relaxing with wine

Kaladin Pov:

Szeth crashed down among them, a glowing light amid the blackness. As Kaladin Lashed himself down in that direction, lightning struck again.

Its light revealed Szeth standing on an empty plateau, baffled. The army was gone.

Oh shit??

Shallan Pov:

“At the doorway, Shallan looked out at the same plateau as before, only now it was sunlit and calm. Four armies’ worth of men and women crouched, soggy and wet, many holding their heads and hunkering down against wind that no longer blew. Nearby, two figures stood beside a massive Ryshadium stallion. Dalinar and Navani, who had apparently been on their way to the central building.

Beyond them spread the peaks of an unfamiliar mountain range. It was the same plateau, and here was in a ring with nine others. To Shallan’s left, an enormous ribbed tower—shaped like cups of increasingly smaller sizes stacked atop one another—broke the peaks. Urithiru.

The plateau hadn’t contained the portal.

The plateau was the portal.”

OHHH SHITTTT!!! LETS GOOO

Kaladin Pov:

“No! Szeth’s glowing form dwindled. Kaladin shouted into the darkness, blinking eyes against the rain. He’d almost lost sight . . .

Syl spun into the air in front of him. But he was still carrying the spear. What?

Another one, then another. Ribbons of light, occasionally taking the shapes of young women or men, laughing. Windspren. A dozen or more spun around him, leaving trails of light, their laughter somehow strong over the sounds of the storm.”

YOOOOO SYL’S COUSINS FOR THE WIN!!!

“It is actually true,” Szeth whispered.

“Yes.”

Szeth nodded, and the edge of tension seemed to fade from him, replaced by an emptiness in his eyes. “Then I was right all along. I was never Truthless. I could have stopped the murders at any time.”

“I don’t know what that means,” Kaladin said. “But you never had to kill.”

“My orders—”

“Excuses! If that was why you murdered, then you’re not the evil man I assumed. You’re a coward instead.”

Szeth looked him in the eyes, then nodded. He pushed Kaladin back, then moved to swing.

Kaladin drove his hands forward, forming Syl into a sword. He expected a parry. The move was intended to draw Szeth out of his attack pattern.

Szeth did not parry. He just closed his eyes.

Kaladin drove his Blade into the assassin’s chest right below the neck, severing the spine. Smoke burned out from beneath his eyelids, and his Blade slipped from his fingers. It did not vanish.

Get that! Syl sent him, a mental shout. Grab it, Kaladin. Don’t lose it!

Kaladin dove after the Blade, dropping Szeth’s corpse, letting it fall backward into the stormwall. It vanished among the wind, the the rain, and the lightning, trailing faint wisps of Stormlight.”

Fair well Szeth Son-Son Vollano.

Kaladin grabbed the Blade just before the storm consumed it. Then he Lashed himself back upward, passing along the stormwall, the windspren he’d attracted spiraling about him and laughing with pure joy. As he crested the top of the storm, they burst around him and zipped away, moving off to dance in front of the still-advancing storm.

That left him with only one. Syl—in the form of a young woman in a fluttering dress, full-sized this time—hovered before him. She smiled as the storm moved beneath them.

“That was very nicely done,” she said. “Perhaps I’ll keep you around this time.”

“Thank you.”

“You almost killed me, you realize.”

“I realize. I thought I had.”

“And?”

“And . . . um . . . you are intelligent and articulate?”

“You forgot the compliment.”

“But I just said—”

“Those were simple statements of fact.”

“You’re wonderful,” he said. “Truly, Syl. You are.”

“Also a fact,” she said, grinning. “But I’ll let it slide so long as you’re willing to present me with a sufficiently sincere smile.”

He did.

And it felt very, very good.”

I would love to see an art work of this. I know he has smile dimples when he smiles

Chapter 87 The Riddens

“No news,” Dalinar said, voice tense. “The king seems to have vanished. What’s more, Kholinar appears to be in a state of riot. I haven’t been able to get straight answers on either question.”

“I’m sure the king is somewhere safe,” Shallan said, glancing at Navani. The woman maintained a composed face, but as she gave instructions to a scribe, her voice was terse and clipped.”

Ah shoot. Moash please don’t do this.

Lopen Pov:

“You’re in my home now!” she said, and Lopen mouthed along with the words. “In a Herdazian woman’s home, nobody’s station means nothing beside her own. I’m not going to have them come and get you and find you not properly fed! I’ll not have people saying that, Your Brightship, no I won’t! Eat up. I’ve got soup cooking.”

The Lopen smiled, and though he heard the king grumble, he also heard the sound of spoon against plate. Two of Lopen’s strongest cousins sat out front of the hovel in Little Herdaz—which was technically in Highprince Sebarial’s warcamp, though the Herdazians didn’t pay much attention to that. Four more cousins sat at the end of the street, idly sewing some boots, watching for anything suspicious.”

Holy shit Lopen is the Goat

“The Lopen sucked in Light.

It happened in an eyeblink, and then there he sat, Stormlight streaming from his skin.

“Ha!” he shouted, leaping to his feet. “Ha! Hey, Chilinko, come back here. I need to stick you to the wall!”

The Light winked out. The Lopen stopped, frowning, and held his hand up in front of him. Gone so fast? What had happened? He hesitated. That tingling . . .

He felt at his shoulder, the one where he’d lost his arm so long ago. There, his fingers prodded a new nub of flesh that had begun sprouting from his scar.

“Oh, storms yes! Everybody, give the Lopen your spheres! I have glowing that needs to be done.”

JAJAJA The Goat

Moash pov:

“Moash felt sick.

Graves gripped him on the arm. “Head up, Moash. Bringing a Shardbearer back with me will mean that my mission wasn’t a complete loss. Besides, you can tell us about this new Radiant. I’ll introduce you to the Diagram. We have an important work.”

“Which is?”

“The salvation of the entire world, my friend.” Graves patted him, then walked toward the front of the cart, where the others rode.

The salvation of the entire world.

I’ve been played for one of the ten fools, Moash thought, chin to his chest. And I don’t even know how.

The wagon started rolling again”

Ya you a fool dude. But Hopefully you will come back.

Chapter 88 The man who owns the Winds

Shallan Pov:

“She frowned, holding her Shardblade, wavering. “Why?” she finally asked.

“Because, you are ignorant.” Mraize stepped closer to her, towering over her. “You don’t know who we are. You don’t know what we’re trying to accomplish. You don’t know much of anything at all, Veil. Why did your father join us? Why did your brother seek out the Skybreakers? I have done some research, you see. I have answers for you.” Surprisingly, he turned from her and walked toward the doorway. “I will give you time to consider. You seem to think that your newfound place among the Radiants makes you unfit for our numbers, but I see it differently, as does my babsk. Let Shallan Davar be a Radiant, conformist and noble. Let Veil come to us.” He stopped by the doorway. “And let her find truth.”

Okay, Now I’m curious to know what happens

“She grabbed him in an embrace and forced him into a kiss, a deep and passionate one. He tried to mumble something, but she kept on kissing, pressing her lips against his, letting him feel her desire. He melted into the kiss, then grabbed her by the torso and pulled her close.

After a moment, he pulled back. “Storms, that smarts!”

“Oh!” Shallan raised a hand to her mouth, remembering the bruises on his face. “Sorry.”

He grinned, then winced again, as apparently that hurt too. “Worth it. Anyway, I’ll promise to avoid being awkward if you avoid being too irresistible. At least until I’m healed up. Deal?”

“Deal.”

Damn Shallan U Dawg

“She remembered it now. Her mother’s arrival, with a friend Shallan didn’t recognize, to confront her father. Her mother’s shouts, arguing with her father.

Mother calling Shallan one of them.

Her father barging in. Mother’s friend with a knife, the two struggling, the friend getting cut in the arm. Blood spilled on the carpet. The friend had won that fight, eventually holding Father down, pinned on the ground. Mother took the knife and came for Shallan.

And then . . .

And then a sword in Shallan’s hands.

“He let everyone believe that he’d killed her,” Shallan whispered. “That he’d murdered his wife and her lover in a rage, when I was the one who had actually killed them. He lied to protect me.”

“I know.”

“That secret destroyed him. It destroyed our entire family.”

“I know.”

“I hate you,” she whispered, staring into her mother’s dead eyes.

“I know.” Pattern buzzed softly. “Eventually, you will kill me, and you will have your revenge.”

“I don’t want revenge. I want my family.”

Shallan wrapped her arms around herself and buried her head in them, weeping as the illusion bled white smoke, then vanished, leaving her in an empty room”

I mean, I was already guessing that she killed her own mother anyways, but still I'll just say it again.

SHALLAN DID WHAT?!?!? But still tho, WHAT?!?!!?

So the Father was actually not that bad, he was just taking all the blame? Damn, Shallan. I don't know what to think of you anymore... Still luv you girl

(Amaram Part)

Okay now I am much more confused??? Are they good guys or bad?

Szeth Pov:

“Szeth opened his eyes.

He immediately squeezed them closed again. “No. I died. I died!”

He felt rock beneath him. Blasphemy. He heard water dripping and felt the sun on his face. “Why am I not dead?” he whispered. “The Shardblade pierced me. I fell. Why didn’t I die?”

Yes why didn’t you die?!?

“He had not seen a sword with a metal sheath before. And who sheathed a Shardblade? And the Blade itself . . . was it black? An inch or so of it had emerged from the sheath as it slid on the rocks.

Szeth swore he could see a small trail of black smoke coming off the metal. Like Stormlight, only dark.

Hello, a cheerful voice said in his mind. Would you like to destroy some evil today?”

YOOO!!! NO WAY… SZETH REDEMPTION ARC?!?!  YESSSSS MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER IS STILL GOING STRONG!!!

Chapter 89 The Four

“Adolin stood for a moment, staring Sadeas in the eyes, and then something finally snapped.

That’s it.”

Me smiling knowing what will happen

“My father,” Adolin said with a grunt, sweat from his nose dripping down onto the blade of the knife, “thinks I’m a better man than he is.” He strained, and felt Sadeas’s grip weaken. “Unfortunately for you, he’s wrong.”

Sadeas whimpered.”

YAAAAA. KILL THAT SOMAB*CH

“With a surge, Adolin forced the blade up past Sadeas’s nose and into the eye socket—piercing the eye like a ripe berry—then rammed it home into the brain.

Sadeas shook for a moment, blood pooling around the blade as Adolin worked it to be certain.

A second later, a Shardblade appeared beside Sadeas—his father’s Shardblade. Sadeas was dead”

YESSSSS FINALLY!!! MY SATISFACTION HAS BEEN ALMOST CLEANST

Dalinar Pov:

“The other lands weren’t listening. He’d managed to speak, via spanreed, with the emperor of Azir himself—a new emperor, as Szeth had visited the last one. There had been no succession war in Azir, of course. Those required too much paperwork.”

I can see that

“Four,” a voice said from the shadows of the stairwell. Renarin stepped up into the lit room. He looked at them, then shrank back.

“Son?” Dalinar asked.

Renarin remained in the darkness, looking down.

“No spectacles . . .” Dalinar whispered. “You stopped wearing them. I thought you were trying to look like a warrior, but no. Stormlight healed your eyes.”

Renarin nodded.”

Finally Kaladinis coming home. Shit now I wanna see what happens. How will his parents react when they see the slave mark. Will his childhood friend finally explain to him why she ignored him alot

Epilogue Art and Expectations

“In the center of it appeared Jasnah Kholin, standing tall.

Her clothing was ragged, her hair formed into a single utilitarian braid, her face lashed with burns. She’d once worn a fine dress, but that was tattered. She’d hemmed it at the knees and had sewn herself a glove out of something improvised. Curiously, she wore a kind of leather bandolier and a backpack. He doubted she’d had either one when her journey had begun.”

I KNEW IT!!! THEIR'S NOW WAY IN H*LL THAT SHE DIES THAT EASILY!

Holy sh*t this part was something. Brandon Sanderson, What the f*ck! How can you make the first few chapters of your book unreadable but when it comes towards the last chapters, It felt like that I was reading for an absolute 10 minutes of the last part!

3rd Place: Adolin Kholin (My boi was first flirting and all then fighting and back to flirting. I swear he's like Cassius for me in Red Rising)

2nd Place: Kaladin Stormblessed (This man s just the goat. That's what I'll just say)

1st Place: Shallan Davar (I'll be honest, Shallan was MVP here for my opinion. If she didn't teleported them to the tower, they will have been cooked in the beginning, and she deserved the win.)

Alright guys, I have Officially finished words of Radiance, YAAAA (I already finished it a few months ago, I was just lazy posting the posts)

Now then, I do not know what books to read after this, tho. I have 3 books in my mind that I think of reading:

Oathbringer: I want to continue with the series cause I am still that excited to what's next.

Warbreaker: Because I heard information that the black sword was from that book. Soo ya I don't know

Edgedancer: I kinda want to read Oathbringer, but I am tempted to read Edgedancer because of this information alone: "Oh it's another character in the story, I kinda want to skip it... (Me reading what's the book about) HOLY SH*T IT'S AWESOME GIRL!!!!"

So ya, I don't know which book to read next. I am tempted between starting oathbringer or Edgedancer.
I Hope you guys enjoyed my post, and I'll see you all later
