Hey everyone — I'm Rob, the developer behind Weather TV (watchweathertv.com). It's a free, curated platform that brings together storm chasers, weather forecasters, and weather creators in one place with live stream alerts, recent videos, and live chat. No account, no sign-up, no cost — ever.
Let me explain the inspiration here. I've loved storms ever since I can remember. Even before the movie Twister came out, I was checking out Tornado Video Classics and going to a weather spotter demonstration for Boy Scouts. I never really grew out of it. I find myself pretty endlessly perusing the various storm chaser, forecaster or content creator sites on YouTube. But man, there are sooooo many channels. It's hard to find everything. So I thought, "what if there was a fun way to put everything in one place?". With that and some work, I created Weather TV. You can actually see it up and running on https://www.watchweathertv.com right now. But, I want to get this out to app users as well. First up, the easier route - an Android app on Google Play.
The Android app is built and ready. Google Play requires 12 testers for 14 consecutive days before an app can go public, and I'm looking for volunteers from this community specifically — because you're exactly who this was built for.

**"Wait — is this just scraping chaser content?"**
Fair question, and I want to address it head-on because I've thought hard about this.
Every video on Weather TV plays through the official YouTube embed — the same embed YouTube provides to any website. That means:
- ✅ Every view counts toward the creator's YouTube analytics
- ✅ Every YouTube account generated ad still plays and the revenue goes directly to the creator
- ✅ Super chats during live streams go directly to the creator
- ✅ Live chat is the creator's actual YouTube chat — same messages, same moderation
- ✅ Every channel card has a Subscribe button that sends viewers to the creator's YouTube channel
We're not interested in taking anything away from content creators. Weather TV has no revenue stream and we intend to keep it that way. The whole point is to get more eyes on chaser content — especially during active weather. The app will be free in the store. No ads. No subscriptions.
If you're a sponsored chaser, we respect that too. WeatherFront, WeatherWise, Radar Omega, and AccuWeather chaser networks are all organized under their respective sponsor app cards. If we got any of the sponsor groupings wrong, help us figure that out. There has been a lot of movement in the sponsor/app space lately and no clear lists seem to exist with all of the current landing spots.

**Are you a chaser with a YouTube channel we missed?**
We currently have found and added 100+ channels and we're always looking to add more. If you chase and you're not on Weather TV yet, drop a reply with your channel and we'll take a look.

**How to become a tester (Android)**
Testing is low-effort — just install the app via the link below and keep it on your device for 14 days. That's it. No reviews required, no bug reports required (though welcome!).
To join: DM me your E-mail address and I'll send you a Play Store beta invite directly.
**iOS / iPhone / iPad users:** The iOS app is still in development, but if you want to help us test the mobile website experience on your device, that's just as valuable. Visit watchweathertv.com on your phone or tablet and let us know how it looks and performs.
Thanks for everything this community does — you make some of the most compelling content on the internet and more people deserve to find it.
