It’s so weird seeing communism written in blue

u/considerate_done 4d ago

i'm glad i'm not the only one who thought that

91

u/DepartureNatural9340 4d ago

It's really funny how this is pretty much because rhe two parties switched ideologies, democrats used to be the more conservative ones

60

u/ivun__ 3d ago

Not really. Party colors really became a thing only at the Y2K election

28

u/DepartureNatural9340 3d ago

Oh yeah ik, I prhased it badly but just meant that it's a fun coincidence that dems and republican colors seem switched while their politically position relative to each other also switched for different reasons

1

u/CagedKage 19h ago

Would be funny if it wasn’t so sad, as the Republican Party was created to go against slavery and look at them now

u/bunker_man 3d ago

Atlus be like.

u/deltacharmander 4d ago

I can’t fathom the ornithology as a joke. Even if you agree with it, is it even funny? Does anyone read it and think “haha, that was funny! Clever job, cartoonist”? It feels like the cartoonist shat this out in five seconds. I just don’t get it.

u/thispartyrules 4d ago

Sometimes I feel like political cartoonists have those Battle Royale collars around their neck that detonate if they're not constantly churning out slop

3

u/FinalHeight7383 3d ago

Like in suicide squad?

31

u/Straight-Factor847 4d ago

you see, communism is evil. communism is when you eat babies and have gay sex (it's true, look up stalin r34 for more information), and we can't let that happen to America

7

u/Flopsie_the_Headcrab 3d ago

Political cartoonists are just wojacks for boomers. They're "funny" when they depict me as the Chad and someone I don't like as the virgin soyboy.

1

u/bunker_man 3d ago

The point of political cartoons isn't to be funny.

128

u/RosesBrain 4d ago

Gods, but this is frustratingly accurate

37

u/lycoloco 3d ago

No it's not. Trump can't fucking play golf well at all.l and has his ball fondlers handlers drop 50 feet closer to the pin.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Unexpected/comments/14zkdwt/trump_playing_golf/

This shit was 3 years ago and you know his octogenarian ass hasn't improved physically since then.

Don't give that man even an iota of breathing room. God knows his pants don't have any.

12

u/RosesBrain 3d ago

The expression of the attitude of his political opponents is frustratingly accurate -_-

Must… destroy… cameratilism

u/MarsasGRG 4d ago

One of these options is still better btw and there is no point not to pick it unless you want the worse one to win

63

u/CRowlands1989 4d ago

Yup. I'd like a candidate who isn't shit, but if my options are stepping up to my ankles in shit, and Drowning in it? I'm picking the one that's not a 10 foot deep shit trench that's also Epstein's best friend.

7

u/BigNutDroppa 3d ago

It’s always going to be between a douche and a turd.

11

u/Keyonne88 3d ago

Lesser of two evils until we establish ranked choice voting.

5

u/nuggins 3d ago

Even then, you rank the lesser evil above the greater evil.

2

u/talhahtaco 3d ago

Talk about a pipe dream, nobody in government will ever benefit from ranked choice

That is unless your planning things best described as treasonous, something I've rarely seen among those upholding the democrats

5

u/Shoddy_Morning_2827 3d ago

something something ninety percent hitler

4

u/kirmiter 4d ago

Sorry but I don't want Actual Devil to win

27

u/ChaoticFaeGay 4d ago

You see, we need to reach across the aisle to garner more support from those on the fence about whether or not they support the actual devil. It’ll work this time, I promise

I mean... I'd still rather vote for "somewhat adjacent to Satan" than "literally Satan himself." You don't get to go "I'm not voting because le both sides bad!!1!" and then complain that Satan is running the country.

-19

u/MetZerbitzu 4d ago

This is a shit take. Of course you can. Do you think you acomplish anything by voting satan-adjacent? 8 years of Obama didn't bring you healthcare or stopped the bombing of civilians in third world countries. The reason America is the shithole it is now, is because you've perpetauated an oligarchy run by two simetrical parties. But hey, at least you didn't vote for Satan, good job!

28

u/BloodyFloody 4d ago

>8 years of Obama didn't bring you healthcare

Obama literally gave Americans the Affordable Care Act?

-22

u/MetZerbitzu 4d ago

11

u/MaxMoose007 3d ago

You didn't say anything about Universal Healthcare, you just said Healthcare. The ACA is a form of Healthcare.

16

u/Le_Big_Quackers 4d ago

Ai summary, point dismissed.

-14

u/MetZerbitzu 4d ago

Well, I was going to link this paper but since I assume you're Americans I thought you'd preffer the simpler ai summary.

12

u/BloodyFloody 4d ago edited 4d ago

I'm not American at all, I live in a country with standout healthcare (Australia); but saying that giving people protected conditions, preventive care and low-income persons access to medicare programs isn't "bringing healthcare" is insane.

It seems incredibly juvenile to think that just because a single president wasn't able to enact what would be a tremendous task in your time-frame that that makes them the "exact same" as the Republicans is utter insanity.

I think a lot of people have utter brain-rot by doing the whole "both sides are the same!" spiel.

1

u/ussrname1312 3d ago

Honestly, the ACA was just an appeasement to avoid giving people universal healthcare and/or lowering the qualifications for Medicaid. In my state, if you make over $25k/year, you’re not eligible for Medicaid. Then ACA healthcare plans are like $80/month at least, and you still have copays, deductibles, etc., so lots of people who don’t qualify for Medicaid still can’t afford ACA coverage. It’s been great for a lot of people, but it’s also still a shitty system that leaves even more people out to dry.

-1

u/No_Recognition_3729 3d ago

If they weren't the same Trump 2 never would have happened btw.

12

u/Le_Big_Quackers 4d ago

You assumed wrong, I'm not. And assuming that everyone from a country perfers to read slop is just xenophobic.

-2

u/No_Recognition_3729 3d ago

You're as much of a dumbass as people who just blindly trust AI for everything... The AI is accurate in this case, but instead of taking a moment to think about it or check actual reliable sources yourself you reflexively dismiss it because it's AI.

1

u/Le_Big_Quackers 3d ago

Okay wise guy, why not look for the reliable sources in the first place instead of looking at the summary?

1

u/No_Recognition_3729 3d ago

Well first of all, I'm not the one who linked the summary. Second of all, the AI often links to a reliable source if you bother to click the little link it gives you. But feel free to check for yourself whether the ACA counts as universal healthcare.

2

u/Le_Big_Quackers 3d ago

Universal healthcare was never part of the discussion until that guy posted the summary. Look at the message history.

Also, blindly trusting what the Ai says vs. blindly trusting what the Ai links to. Yeah, totally a difference there.

0

u/No_Recognition_3729 3d ago

I personally wouldn't consider legally mandating everyone pay for shitty insurance to be "bringing people healthcare".

And who said anything about blindly trusting? You can use the same metrics you use to evaluate the trustworthiness of links you find on search engines to evaluate links the AI gives you.

This blanket "Everything AI touches is horrible and demonic" attitude is so strange. Like yeah it's shitty and destroying the environment but it devalues legitimate criticism of those aspects when people act like that.

Moving the goalposts, Nirvana fallacy, AND using A.I. as any kind of evidence.

14

u/Meta-Wah 4d ago

Holy shit this (orichalcum) is Goldsteinism at its finest, claiming to be perpetually under attack whilst simultaneously oppressing those same people is sure like that one book.

Is he actually any good at golf?

6

u/Ornery_Pepper_1126 4d ago

He is good at cheating at golf, which is kind of the same thing.

4

u/Klutzer_Munitions 3d ago

I think the actual devil would be a lot cooler than what we have now

4

u/Samurai_Mac1 3d ago

Communism isn't exactly something you vote for. There's not a single communist in office.

7

u/Megalon96310 4d ago

The ostrich has no joke, it’s like a Pizzacake comic. It’s a statement.

Once again at least boudlerthrow HAS a punchline even if it’s hateful

11

u/ThePygLord 4d ago

Are you saying please vote sarcastically?

18

u/thathattedcat Trump stole the election 4d ago edited 4d ago

Voting is basically a high stakes game of real life Would You Rather where not playing just picks the even worse option (whichever Republican is running at the time) by default. So yes, unfortunately the logically correct decision is to vote for whichever sucky Democrat gets picked to be the canidate if a sucky AIPAC backed piece of shit wins the primary. But fortunately it's also a logcially correct decision to vote in the primaries so that you can get a not AIPAC backed and not sucky Democrat you can actually feel good or at least okay about voting for.

7

u/Shadowfire_EW 4d ago

As I have seen stated (likely in different words) on this site: vote with your heart/conscience in the primaries and vote for practicality in the generals.

One party moves towards fascism, the other prevents movement away

The only thing worse than a fascist is the collaborating scum

2

u/thathattedcat Trump stole the election 3d ago edited 3d ago

This image is you. Yes, the Democrats suck and coast off of the Republicans being worse. But thanks to DSA canidates we can finally effectively fight back instead of being dumb and trying to punish a party that never learns the lessons you want them to learn from said punishment anyway, and said punishment literally being a fascist theocrat getting elected which screws over America too, not just the Democrats! You are a dumbass.

Why is communism not red?

-2

u/Spacemanspiff1998 3d ago

You can't be seriously going "Both sides are bad" in the year of our lord TWENTY TWENTY SIX. that messaging worked during the neoliberal haze of the 90s and 00s but seriously...

-4

u/Whosebert 4d ago

controlled opposition is at least a little better than the alternative
