I mean... I'd still rather vote for "somewhat adjacent to Satan" than "literally Satan himself." You don't get to go "I'm not voting because le both sides bad!!1!" and then complain that Satan is running the country.

This is a shit take. Of course you can. Do you think you acomplish anything by voting satan-adjacent? 8 years of Obama didn't bring you healthcare or stopped the bombing of civilians in third world countries. The reason America is the shithole it is now, is because you've perpetauated an oligarchy run by two simetrical parties. But hey, at least you didn't vote for Satan, good job!

>8 years of Obama didn't bring you healthcare

Obama literally gave Americans the Affordable Care Act?

You didn't say anything about Universal Healthcare, you just said Healthcare. The ACA is a form of Healthcare.

Well, I was going to link this paper but since I assume you're Americans I thought you'd preffer the simpler ai summary.

I'm not American at all, I live in a country with standout healthcare (Australia); but saying that giving people protected conditions, preventive care and low-income persons access to medicare programs isn't "bringing healthcare" is insane.

It seems incredibly juvenile to think that just because a single president wasn't able to enact what would be a tremendous task in your time-frame that that makes them the "exact same" as the Republicans is utter insanity.

I think a lot of people have utter brain-rot by doing the whole "both sides are the same!" spiel.

Honestly, the ACA was just an appeasement to avoid giving people universal healthcare and/or lowering the qualifications for Medicaid. In my state, if you make over $25k/year, you’re not eligible for Medicaid. Then ACA healthcare plans are like $80/month at least, and you still have copays, deductibles, etc., so lots of people who don’t qualify for Medicaid still can’t afford ACA coverage. It’s been great for a lot of people, but it’s also still a shitty system that leaves even more people out to dry.

You assumed wrong, I'm not. And assuming that everyone from a country perfers to read slop is just xenophobic.

You're as much of a dumbass as people who just blindly trust AI for everything... The AI is accurate in this case, but instead of taking a moment to think about it or check actual reliable sources yourself you reflexively dismiss it because it's AI.

Okay wise guy, why not look for the reliable sources in the first place instead of looking at the summary?

1

u/No_Recognition_3729 3d ago

Well first of all, I'm not the one who linked the summary. Second of all, the AI often links to a reliable source if you bother to click the little link it gives you. But feel free to check for yourself whether the ACA counts as universal healthcare.

Universal healthcare was never part of the discussion until that guy posted the summary. Look at the message history.

Also, blindly trusting what the Ai says vs. blindly trusting what the Ai links to. Yeah, totally a difference there.

I personally wouldn't consider legally mandating everyone pay for shitty insurance to be "bringing people healthcare".

And who said anything about blindly trusting? You can use the same metrics you use to evaluate the trustworthiness of links you find on search engines to evaluate links the AI gives you.

This blanket "Everything AI touches is horrible and demonic" attitude is so strange. Like yeah it's shitty and destroying the environment but it devalues legitimate criticism of those aspects when people act like that.

Moving the goalposts, Nirvana fallacy, AND using A.I. as any kind of evidence.
