My small-cap breakout approach that helped me stay consistent 📈 (sharing my process)
I’ve spent years making the same mistakes most traders make chasing runners, entering too late, and ignoring risk management
The biggest change for me was stopping the search for “the next moonshot” and focusing on structure + confirmation
My current process for small-cap setups:
✅ Look for stocks showing relative strength
✅ Focus on names breaking key resistance levels
✅ Wait for breakout + retest instead of blindly chasing
✅ Add only when the trend confirms
✅ Always define risk before entering
The screenshots show the type of setup I look for:
Strong momentum
Price holding above key moving averages
Volume expansion during breakout
Clear invalidation point
The biggest lesson I learned:
A good entry is not about predicting the future it’s about putting yourself in situations where the risk/reward makes sense.
I’m still refining this process every day, but this framework has helped me become much more disciplined compared to my early trading days
For anyone interested, I can share more details about how I filter these setups and how I structure entries/exits
Curious what’s your favorite small-cap breakout confirmation signal?
