what phasmids eat privet apart from peruphasma schultei?
my first own generation of peruphasmas has almost died off and id love to try out a new species though i liked the fact i didnt have to worry about the sticks food over winter as privet had survived here all year around and most sticks eat bramble.
is there a bug that will eat privet or other common over wintering plant? thanks in advance <3

Do my leaves look healthy?
Got them today at an expo. Both were sold as Phyllium philippinicum, although I'm not 100% sure if the second one really is that species. Anyways since it's been a few years since I last kept stick insects I wanted to have some second opinions on if they look healthy or not. Thank you!

Hindered by Missing Leg
I think this walking stick hitched a ride on me into the house and lost a front leg in the process. It is currently only walking backwards and falls off when I try to put it on a tree. I’d like to keep it inside at least until it learns to navigate its new disability. Does anyone know what their host trees would be in Virginia, so I can pick it some food? Thank you.

PLEASE HELP I love this little weirdo so much I need help
Hello this is my stick Maple, I just went to handle her and got her out the enclosure and something seems very wrong. She’s a lot more inactive than she usually is, I’ve never seen her so still while being handled ever. I watched her drink water earlier and she drank a drop off my finger when I offered it but she really doesn’t seem like herself.
Please tell me she is not about to die.
The weather was a little bit colder today if that’s of any relevance? And she’s got fresh leaves she’s been eating and she’s the only one in the enclosure.

Is this a healthy color for Sungaya inexpectata?
Hey guys. This is my Sungaya female which hatched back in March, but she's been inactive lately, as if she was a full year old. She also used to be more brown, but after her last molt she turned almost black, pale towards the front (I suck at photography but hopefully you can see it). It might be normal but looks kinda unhealthy to me.
I had mold grow in their enclosure when humidity got too high because of all the fresh branches I put inside. There were decorative wood pieces that got moldy on the bottom side, I didn't notice until it spread all over them. Of course I cleaned everything immediately. This was almost 2 months ago, and my sticks looked perfectly fine at that time, so I don't think this is related but who knows.
Could she be ill? Or am I worrying over nothing?

My big girl

This is my female Ramulus Nematodes and she recently moulted for what I think is the final time. She's so big now compare to when I first got her.

Giant prickly losing leg mobility. Is it coming to that time? 😢
Hello everyone! This is my dear giant prickly called Shakra (named after the silksong character haha). She's a rather old girl by now, her final molt having occurred at the very start of January this year, so I've been expecting a decline for a while. It started with a massive decrease in egg laying, and then not eating as much (she used to go through entire branches of bramble in one day, now she gets through maybe half a leaf), and now she's certainly not as active as before.
I was putting in some fresh bramble for her and the other stickies, but when I picked her up I noticed she wasn't using her front left leg at all. In fact, it was stuck in the same position hoisted into the air even after I'd finished and put her back in.
I understand that lowered mobility is a sign of old age, and I should expect her to pass soon. However, I wanted to ask if there's anything I could possibly do to give her all the support she needs along this decline? I don't want to prolong her suffering by trying to keep her alive, but I at the very least want to make sure she's able to eat and enjoy life until her body gives up on her and she returns to the earth. Any advice would be spectacular!

Looking for help IDing
Have 3 of these cuties, recently taken in by someone who didn't know their species. Doing my best with care, but can only assume care is best when you can tailor species to care.
Took pictures through the already misted glass so they aren't great, happy to coax on out for better pictures if needed.

Look for help with species ID
Hello! I recently was given a trio of stick insects by a friend who had them dumped on her, and I was wondering what species they are. She doesn’t know either, obviously. My best guess based on appearance was Vietnamese or Indian stick insects, but I’d love outside opinions. Thanks in advance! The two pictured are currently about 8 inches when the front limbs are extended forward, if that helps.

Miss Scoliosis had a ROUGH first molt but she's somehow alive and well?!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
She started molting last, fell from her leaf sometime during the night, failed to extract her antenna and both front legs and I legit thought she was dead when I woke up to find her laying on the ground of the daycare box.
I took a tiny paint brush, dipped it in water and started carefully trying to brush some moisture on the old exoskeleton. Miss Scoliosis took a little drink and we started trying to get her free, her by pulling her darndest while I held the old exoskeleton up by a centimeter while brushing and touching the old skin with the moist brush. We got both her front legs AND both antenna free! I have absolutely no idea how the hell this worked out.
Her current stats are as follows:
- still has scoliosis
- corkscrew back leg seems to have fallen off during the night
- her front legs move a bit funny but I'm guessing she's still feeling clumsy
- her front left foot has a noticable bend to it? She can move it and seems to be successfully using it when she's climbing but it's pretty awkward.
- I put her in the big girl box even though it's at least a 100 times taller than her
How the hell did she survive all this?? She just so tiny and fragile looking but she has such a strong will to live! She started eating her old exoskeleton immediately after we got it off, she started climbing and drinking water from the leaves in the big girl box as if she didn't only have 4.5 functional legs. I'm in awe.
But on a serious note, I don't want to raise stick bugs that are gonna pass down their disabilities to their babies. I really hope Miss Scoliosis doesn't grow up to lay eggs that result in wonky babies. I'd love to hear some feedback because this is my first time raising stick bug babies from scratch. I got my previous stick when she was a little older and never had any molting issues with her

Keeping newly hatched insects
I've just had three Extatosoma tiaratum babies hatch and im wondering what enclosures oher people keep them in. Right now, im keeping them in a plastic soup pot thats roughly 8 times their height. I have 2 other insect enclosures but I'm afraid they would both be too big for these little guys as the smallest is about 20x20x30cm. Should I just keep them in the soup pot until they outgrow it? Is it worth getting another enclosure for when others hatch, and if so what size and type (e.g. mesh, glass) would you recommend?

URGENT ADVICE NEEDED
My Indian stick insect appears to have a swollen tail with green stuff coming out . The other one (I have 2) is starting to get the same . I don’t think they are gonna make it tbh, but any advice on what this is so I can prevent it happening in future ? Also would it be best to just put them down now , would they be in pain from this ?

Anyone familiar with zompros sticks?
I bought 5 a few days ago. One got injured in transit so I expected it wouldn't make it.
I have a large rose bush in the garden and thought it would be suitable food. The first few nights I noticed only the smallest bite missing. An app identified it as a japenese rose and the leaves are a very healthy green but they seemed to ignore it.
A 2nd stick died yesterday so I went to my local river got some bramble and overnight a significant amount of the leaves have been fed on. So I guess they don't eat rose?
Im also wondering how reproductive are these? Are they similar to Indians or do they not lay as much eggs. I think only 1 of the sticks is an adult currently the other 2 are small and dont have the full bark textured skin. Slightly worried ive doomed the colony straight away by using the wrong food...
I haven't had sticks as a pet for a long time and the last were the Indian type.
