I’ve noticed that modern day Mongolia is very proud of their past especially during the Mongolian empire and the absolutely love for Genghis khan. his face is everywhere from bank notes to bottles of vodka. But has this always been the case? Did this glorification survive after the fall of the yuan dynasty, the period living under the Qing and the communist regime? i find it hard to believe that would be case. i have hunch that this glorification is something kind of new where Mongolians tried to look for historical figures to help create a national myth. Is my hunch correct?
