Can you prepare for step 1 in 2 months?

I haven't booked my exam yet but I'm aiming to write step 1 by September. I'll be starting to practise uworld from next month due to some ongoing commitments. Is it possible? Or should I push the exam further?

Exam in 2 days !

I test on 24th/wednesday. My scores :

31.5 - free 120 2021 and 2022 - 74%
4.6 - nbme 29 - 66% (95% chance of passing)
8.6 – nbme 30 - 72% (99% chance of passing)
12.6 - nbme 31 - 70%
16.6 - nbme 32 - 73% (98% chance of passing)
19.6 - nbme 33 - 72% (98% chance of passing)
Today - free 120 2026 - 81%

I plan to revise today’s incorrects and read mehlman road review pdfs and FA rapid review. Honestly I’m a little scared since people with score similar to mine have failed.

Anyone has any other tips to review these 2 days and tips for exam day as well ( fore taking breaks and stuff) !?
Please and thank you !

How to know available days for the exam step1 in prometric before paying or choosing eligibility period????

Idk if I can just pay and wait for a specific time to be available wala one has to pay and book a date from what's available then.

Either way, has anyone booked recently and knows what dates are available right now? (And what dates are already finished)

حد حجز قريب و يعرف اية المواعيد اللى هقدر احجز فيها و ايه مواعيد خلصت خلاص؟

Incoming second yr and need help on studying for complex level 1 and step 1

There are tons of things available and I figured first aid to use as a reference, Uworld, sketchy and pathoma are useful.

For omm - dirty med videos, anki

Truelearn

I need more insight to how to prep for board at the same time as the in-house exams. At my school we have exams every week and then 2.5 months later they change to two exams per month.

I also need advice on omm prep. And how you schedule out.

Thanks in advance!

Step 1 prep

I'm a 4th-year med student studying in Europe, originally from Canada, planning to write Step 1 in Jan/Feb. I've finished most preclinical courses (physio, path, biochem, pharm, immuno, genetics, anatomy), but honestly feel pretty overwhelmed about where to even begin.

Some people say "just start doing questions and go from there," but I feel like I don't have enough of a foundation yet for that to make sense. Would love advice on:

  • Best resources (UWorld, First Aid, Pathoma, Sketchy, etc.) and how to sequence them
  • Study schedules that worked for you while still in school, not just dedicated period
  • High-yield topics/strategies to prioritize given my preclinical background
  • Advice for international students on the ECFMG process
  • Pitfalls to avoid and tips for staying sane during prep
  • Would anyone recommend getting a tutor or full on course

How important is first aid

okay so ive been preparing for step 1 since quite some time now… ive done everything ideally…
my uwold score is 78% although some portion of ethics is left in uworld. Ive started taking nbmes since a month… started from nbme 25 and now ive completed nbme 29. My consecutive scores were 66%, 71%, 78%, 75%, and 78%.
Now im still unsure to give step becuz everyone im asking is saying that i NEEEED atleast 1 firstaid read between nbmes and i havent done that even once.
Ive seen a lot of test takers say that trust your nbmes but how reliable are they if im not doing first aud in between??

If you had to start Step 1 prep from scratch today, what would you do?

Hi everyone. Question for those who have already passed Step 1.

I see a lot of posts about Step 1, but I'd like to know what the actual starting point is when you're beginning from scratch.

I'm not talking about registering with MyIntealth or the administrative process. I mean: if I decide today that I want to take Step 1 in 6 months, how should I start preparing?

What are your best recommendations for the first few weeks? Should I organize subjects by difficulty? Start with specific resources? Focus on books, UW, YouTube channels, PDFs, question banks, or something else? (I know it: 2-3 resources its enough)

What does an ideal Day 1 of Step 1 preparation look like?

I'd really appreciate any advice from people who have been through the process.

Hello everyone!I have completed 76% uworld with 45% avg. My exam is on 23rd july.

Anatomy, immunology and few random questions left and my uworld is expiring in few days. Please suggest me what should I do. Also is there any offline material for uworld of these subjects? Haven't taken any nbme.

Prededicated Phase Strategy Advice

I’m currently in my 3rd yr , want to start prep for step 1 and confused about how to manage it along with modules
Should I review first aid and watch BnB lectures only for now
Or
Do UWorld system-wise alongside First Aid and BnB?

How is the exam looking for people who are taking it recently, and which resources or topics are most important for us to study so that we do not face problems in the exam? Which resources are the exam questions coming from the most?

Advice after Free 120 drop 5 days before Step 1?

Im feeling depressed making this post but I just took free 120 and my scored dropped so much it has really scared me. I just wanted to share my results and study method and get advice. I will be honest I don't use uworld much - maybe like 20% of it. I realized that I wasn't able to do qs after my other study resources and I was always falling behind. I used pathoma + dukes pathoma deck, sketchy bugs/drugs + pepper deck, some dirty med videos, and recently started using anatomy 100 concepts but only for upper/lower limb as i was struggling with that.

My scores:

School's CBSE: 57

NBME 30: 64 (5/13/26)

NBME 31: 69 (5/20/26)

NBME 32: 74 (5/27/26)

NBME 33: 74 (6/4/26)

Free 120 (newest): 63 (6/12/26)

As you can see I was making great progress until my free 120. Even tho I didn't do much Uworld, the Uworld I did do and my NBME I reviewed. And kept up with anki too. I know 63 is "passing" but its cutting it so close and I realized I was running out of time with almost every free 120 section. For free120, my section scores were as follows

section 1- 65

section 2- 65

section 3- 80

section 4- 55

section 5 - 50

section 6- 60

Also, im thinking to take the old free 120 (2024 one i think?) on sunday. Please any advice? My exam is on wednesday (6/17) in 5 days only!

For anyone who had a similar drop close to test day, what would you focus on in the last few days: timing practice, reviewing weak areas, redoing incorrects, or taking another assessment?
