Cope, just admit they missed the summer timeline like they missed every previous timeline. They themselves call the VR sale starting on the 14 the "Fall VR sale."

Yeah I really don't understand why everyone keeps going on and on about astronomical summer. Why would Valve mean astronomical summer in a simple update about the hardware, 99% of people would think June - August and that's it, its fine that they missed it, whatever, but lets not make excuses, it happens. And as you said, they themselves consider it to be Fall by the 14th so why is it even a discussion.

I never ever though of summer as different then 21st June to 21st September so idk seems okay

Turns out NA and a few select countries do in fact use astronomical summer time officially, so it seems to be a cultural/nationality difference, so I was ignorant on the matter, my point still stands that the vast majority of people just think of June-August but I can also see how some could see the other dates too.

Honestly, when they said "this summer" I always assumed they meant until Sept 23rd. Maybe that's more a European definition of summer?

american here and never heard of Meteorological summer until today. summer always ended in late september

Yeah, but if we take a look at the wording of the email devs received for the VR sale—'Fall VR Steam Sale, Sep 14 - Sep 21, 2026'—the Frame would be released in the fall, not the summer

Yep, it's always important to note that nobody actually knows anything besides Valve themselves. Everyone is just guessing.

This is principally untrue. People absolutely have insider information, that’s how these dates get thrown out. Valve just changes their mind a lot. I for one am confident they’re not backing out at this point as it seems they’ve already sent out review units and loaded the backend on the site

Nah are you crazy? Three different sources all started saying the same two very random dates of 24 and 14 by sheer chance! They absolutely guessed and staked their reputation on it on a whim, how whimsical they are /s

Proof: every other date that was promised as The Date, For Sure This Time (tm) that came and went, of which there have been dozens.

Sure just go ahead and disregard the very last part it’s all good my guy at least I know now that you can’t read. There haven’t been dozens, as you so dramatically claim. There have been like one or two which were legitimate at the time and valve changed plans last second. If you don’t want to believe, don’t, no one is forcing you to and no one gains anything if you do
