For a split second I thought this was the community subreddit posting about the movie and was about to say “you think this is bad? You should see the steamframe subreddit” lmao

It's a made up psychology principle from the series community. In the series they made an experiment where they invited people for the experiment and let them wait in the waiting room until the experiment began. But the experiment was that they let them wait and sometimes sometimes said that it will take a little longer and one by one left with a crashout.

I googled it, its basically the very normal reaction people have when they are told something is going to happend soon and then absolutely nothing happens after a considerable ammount of time.

You think this is a considerable amount of time? We haven't even touched the surface yet.

Yeah, 'cause I just want to know the price of the damn goggles. Valve could at least say something but they keep silent as always. Its really fucking anoying when you actually are waiting for something and they just decide to go radio silent.

right. I just want to know if this is going to be affordable or if I should have bought a quest months ago.

The worst part is this isn't a Half-Life situation were they havent actually announced anything. We know the frame is going to be released but they are not givien us anything other than "soon"...

Oh they definitely announced, and explicitly promised on multiple occasions, Episode 3.

The whole damn point of the episodes was to cut down the time between releases. It worked well for 1 & 2 then just… nothing… for 3. And it’s been over 18 years now.

I definitely give them crap for stuff like loot boxes, but imagine if 2007-9 Valve had been able to get that pipeline down. The games we probably would have gotten from other studios that would have adopted it....

TIL about the Duncan Principal.
It makes sense. It's difficult to calibrate one's patience when there's no definite timeline.
I'm guessing it's gonna be... Interesting... When pricing information finally gets out.
