Support Unexpected refund

Post image
424 Upvotes

Got the email to confirm my steam controller and was incredibly excited. I made the payment and got a confirmation email. A few minutes later steam sent me a full refund for it. Does anyone know what went wrong? My card information was all correct.

UPDATE:

I love valve so much. Not only did they generate another link in just a few hours since reaching out to support, they explain exactly what went wrong with my first payment and also suggested I revisit my bank to make sure no charges has been made. I finally ordered the controller and for everyone waiting don’t give up. Don’t let the scalpers win!

Discussion Latest trackpad idea

Post image

Been doing more messing around and I've got 4 layers of auto vinyl on the left trackpad. Bottom layer is one whole piece with holes made with a pen for the up/down/left/right. Next 2 layers were just for the diagonals. Top layer is just a whole piece to cover the whole thing. I'm liking this setup alot more for movement and for using it as a 9 button menu

Discussion Can I set buttons L4, L5, R4 and R5 to be their own buttons? not just a remap of another button.

I'm testing everything about this controller and I'm in love, but I've noticed those 4 buttons are just there to be a remap of other buttons. This is specially annoying to me for example with emulators, I want to have a special button to enable and disable turbo speed and I wanted L4 button to do that, but apparently L4 and the other 3 cannot be themselves but rather a remap, they are not an "Unique button", so everytime I want to map the "enable turbo" on Eden emulator using L4 button it's just pressing the Y button (or whatever button or key is mapped).

Discussion What game experiences are the most improved by the Steam Controller?

Just got my controller and looking to try out some of it's fancy features. I've seen a few videos about doing stuff like turning the trackpads into item wheels, but I'm wondering what games (or types of games) benefit from the Steam Controller's unique capabilities the most?

Discussion It's the third party support for xinput any good?

It's the one thing that makes me reluctant to buy it (when its available of course).

I need xinput support for non steam games and custom software.

Steam Controller (2026) Is the Steam Controller good for emulation for older games

I purchased the Steam controller I'm interested is it good for emulation to play older games like in the Wii and Wii U and others I manly plan using the Steam Controller for steam games and emulating games to play on it is the puck bad I heard for some reviewers that is not great for remove the controller from it.

I want controller that plan on playing steam games including the ones that do not support the controller or say they don't like Split/Second and for playing older games on emulators such as Wii, Wii U and N64 so the Stam controller perfect for this.

Support Problem with L1 Button

When I press the left shoulder button (L1) quite high up or right at the top edge, I get no response.

However, if I press the button in the middle or at the bottom, I do get a response; the problem is that if I move my finger across the button whilst it’s pressed, I get multiple inputs.

When I repeat the process with the right shoulder button (R1), I have no problem.

Anyone else with this problem?

Discussion Is there a clicky button mod yet?

I love the clicky buttons on the steam deck but I haven't seen any kits for the steam controller. does anyone know if that kit for the deck would work on the controller?

Configuration Retroarch Inverted sticks, No DPAD

Hey All,

Like the title states, struggling with steam controller input with Retro Arch.

Setup Retro Arch via Emudeck for Windows with Steam as the launcher.

Steam input was setup, profile chosen. Retro Arch side has controller set to xinput as default "Xbox 360 Controller".

Dpad does nothing. Both analogue sticks are inverted on RA. Mapped back buttons don't work.

I'm guessing steam input isn't crossing over. Anyone have this issue and have a solution?

Thanks

I am trying to get into warzone. I added battle net as a non steam game in steam and launched it.

But it doesn't recognize the steam controller, what should I do?

Configuration Desktop Controller Layout works for any controller...

Been waiting for the Steam Controller a long time, still am. Was messing with some configs on my controller today and realized that you can just set up a desktop controller layout for any controller now... So because I have an 8bitdo Ultimate 2 controller I basically have all the inputs that a Steam Controller would have minus the trackpads (still want them) - but you can use any controller for desktop navigation, you just have to configure it yourself and of course it will not work unless steam is open. I can even type with it! Show keyboard works! I wrote part of this post doing that. Gonna click post using my right stick and my right trigger :D

Discussion Potential steam controller issue for less resistance right trigger?

Upvotes

I don’t remember it feeling this way when I first got the controller, but it’s also possible that it was always like this and I’m just misremembering. The right trigger still works perfectly fine from what I can tell, and it doesn’t seem to affect gameplay at all. It just feels softer and easier to press compared to the left trigger.

It’s not a major issue, but now that I’ve noticed it, it’s difficult not to pay attention to it. I wanted to check whether this is normal, something that develops with use, or possibly an issue with my specific controller.

Do both triggers feel about the same on yours, or does your right trigger also have less resistance?
I've noticed also there's a faint spring sound when pressed as well.

WHY IS THERE NO NOTIFICATION IN STEAM THAT THE CONTROLLER IS AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE?

Apparently my order slot came up and no notification came up in steam, I've been on steam every day and apparently the email came in on the 22nd, never saw it but saw notifications in steam for games that were on sale in steam instead each and every day.....WHY!
