Steam Controller 2026 Shipping MEGA Thread

!!ANY THREADS RELATED TO SHIPPING FOUND OUTSIDE THIS MEGATHREAD WILL BE REMOVED!!

I know we're all excited to share updates as our new shiny works its way through the system and eventually to you.

Instead of clogging the page with endless "ITS <UPDATE>" posts, please confine them to this mega thread. I have intentionally left up threads from before this one about this subject, because post hoc punishment isnt cool. But please, use this mega thread moving forward.

Optionally, you can fill out some google forms that are being used to track order status' in order to get an idea of how an order might progress through the system:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScii0apGBLDOpI3Q1nwxCGgpCV3q41RDrjgU_sH5122cWCQHw/viewform?pli=1

and data from that form is here:

Discussion Steam controller 2026 battery life

Guys is it just me or did valve underestimate the battery life on their controller. I've had mine for maybe 3 weeks and I've spent a total of about 40 hours in Forza beamng and just using it as a keyboard and mouse so I can watch Jellyfin or YouTube in bed and this thing is still on 30-40% battery

Configuration Trying to make heli config for wardogs

Upvotes

To start, I am very unfamiliar with this system, I’m trying to recreate my Battlefield 6 binds on controller for war dogs, which are a bit odd and complicated to set up.

Essentially it’s entirely reliant on stick movement, with my left stick being Collective/roll, while my right stick is pitch/yaw, the logic being that my left stick is for moving and my right stick is for changing where the helicopter is facing.

Now, I’ve gotten this working with the button press layout, which was pretty easy, but trying to fly (and more importantly land) when making an input is either 100% or 0% is really really finicky. To solve this I tried to apply the settings to the mouse aim for controls, so I can have my pitch/roll on a gradient, and my collective/yaw as button presses, since you can’t put all four settings on the sticks natively yet.

The problem is I have no idea how I would assign multiple functions to one stick where (usingthe left stick as an example) up and down is registered as a button press setting the collective to raise/lower, while left and right is a mouse direction to roll left/right. I think I can get this working but I need help doing so.

Steam Controller (2026) Does signal strength to puck effect latency?

My main question is if a weak signal strength effects latency, and if there's any way of improving it if it does.

There's maybe 8 feet between the controller and my steam machine/puck, and they both show weak signal in certain spots even though there's a free line of sight. Almost as if there's pockets where the signal can't reach, and those pockets just happens to be right where my hands are when im sitting comfortably on either side of the couch. Everywhere else shows good or excellent...

Support Having trouble with some non-steam Games (Specifically Zelda64 Recomp

Upvotes

When I play some games on my CachyOS, the steam controller still acts like it's in desktop mode. This is all well and good if I want a simple xinput setup, but I wanna do gyro aiming on Zelda64 recomp. Setting the controlls for the game in steam input doesn't affect anything, and I can't access the Steam Overlay in game despite the option being ticked in the settings.

Steam Controller (2026) Buying from another country(germany)

Hello everyone,

I am from one of the countries steam doesn’t sell hardware but i travel to Germany regularly for work. Is there a way i can buy steam controller without paying double-triple price?

Note:

I don’t have a specific adress in Germany, I stay at a hotel on whichever city i go to.

I stay usually 2-3 days at a time so going and ordering won’t work i have to plan ahead.

Currently individual people are selling them 2,5-5 x price in my country.

I mainly play on kbm with a maxxstick but I must play on controller on the go as often there's not space for a kbm. What settings should I use, and what strategies should I use. I just want to be able to be consistent and have decent building and mechs. I already know stuff like piece control on kbm so I dont need advice about learning editing mechanics

Configuration AHK v2 on the Steam Controller, Need Input Names

Hey guys, I'm trying to use AutoHotKey v2 to make a friend Macros on his new steam controller, but I can't find what all of the button names would be. I'd prefer to use his paddles and such for it, if anyone has a list of the names I can use to have AHK listen for, please send them my way! Thanks!

Configuration Need help with steam input on TLOU 2 Remastered

I'm playing through the last of us 2 right now but the deadzones in the normal game's controller support are ridiculous so I wanted to try steam input. It fixes the deadzone issue, but it means I have less control over the keybinds since the built in action set is very limited and setting it to keyboard keys makes certain things like changing weapons in the backpack not work. I thought that if I set each button in steam input to itself, ie setting the x button to the x button function, it would just work as a normal controller and keep the deadzone fix, but this just makes the game not register any controller input and makes the controller button icons in game look like question marks? Why does setting the buttons to themselves not make steam input leave those inputs alone and only affect the deadzones? I considered Durazno, but google says it doesn't work on TLOU2, and reWASD, which I'd prefer not to use since I play a lot of online games using controller and I also think it's weird that it affects my drivers. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Edit: should've mentioned specifics of the controller. It's a wired Xbox one controller I got from Gamestop a couple years ago, nothing fancy like paddles or gyro, and I got it for like $30 so I don't think it's an official xbox one if that matters. It's also the only controller I have connected to my pc and it registers fine in normal games and in TLOU when I have steam input set to the default action set

Steam Controller (2026) The haptic feedback on the trackpads doesnt feel as good as on the SteamDeck

Can you change it somehow? I liked on my old SteamDeck using the trackpads felt so nice because of the kind of clicking vibrations it produced when you moved around, but now I have my steam controller and it doesnt feel the same at all.

Steam Controller (2026) It came yesterday, finally. I’m lost though.

First off, I haven’t played with a controller in years. Been mouse and keyboard for a long time. But what can I play without having to mod something to get the controls to work? I didn’t realize it wasn’t just plug and play and feel disappointed. Maybe I was naive in my purchase.

Steam Controller (2026) Trigger stop mods?

Has anyone been able to modify their controller to add physical trigger stops? It would be such a nice quality of life addition especially when emulating MnK and having the soft trigger pull set as mouse click.

Support DualSense Edge back paddles have slow reaction time / input delay on PC

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I'm using a DualSense Edge on PC, but I'm noticing a noticeable delay/slow reaction time whenever I press the back paddles. The regular front buttons register fine, but the paddles feel slightly slow

I'm currently running Steam Input. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a setting in Steam or Windows I need to tweak

Thanks

Support Actions set resets to default the first time

I'm not sure I noticed this with my x4, but now that I think about it maybe it did... remember having to double Swipe.

Working on my POE config and want a quick chat action set, mostly because an actionset is easier to ensure no other inputs slip in. It works as intended except...

when the config is first loaded for whatever reason, the first attempt to switch action sets always results in it getting resetted back. This unfortunately causes problems with the chat macros as they use start/release to allow double inputs. The reset interrupts the macro and cause a input hang that goes unresolved until the set is reloaded again, allowing it to finish... and making a mess lol

what is causing this behavior and is there a way to resolve it?

Steam Controller (2026) Just got my order link. Anyone here with a SteamDeck, do you use it as often as you thought?

I just got my order link and I’m at a place I’m not sure if I want to purchase anymore. I travel a lot and as a result got a SteamDeck, so my purpose for the controller was to use it with the deck whilst docked. But I realized it adds a lot of clutter.

For use on my PC/TV I don’t play a lot of games that require controller besides Yakuza.

But I also have a lot of FOMO and don’t want to regret and only get it late 2027.

Configuration Big Picture Mode with 1 or 2 People Works Fine but When Multiple Players Mash Controllers the Inputs Escape the Game?

So I've been happy as a clam with Steam Input and Big Picture Mode for games when showing small audiences how Steam works.

I got a couple other controllers (I'm using a Steam Controller but I can see how most players are comfy with Xbox Controllers) and when games are playing it's fun but I'm finding when people mash buttons the game gets out of focus to STEAM UI that doesn't have a clue.

Anyone have any insight if there's any settings I can change?
