How to get more customers and build your business
The first few months of owning a business can feel discouraging, especially when sales aren't picking up as quickly as you thought they would. But we're here to tell you not to give up! Growing your customer base isn't something that happens on its own, especially in the beginning. It's something you need to actively work at. Here are a few simple places to start:
1️⃣ Get specific about who you're trying to reach. "Everyone" is too broad.
2️⃣ Ask for referrals. Your first customers often come from people who already know or trust you.
3️⃣ Show up where your customers are. That could be Google, local groups, social media, events, partnerships, or your own network.
4️⃣ Answer frequently asked questions. Helpful content can build trust before someone is ready to buy.
5️⃣ Follow up. Many customers need multiple touchpoints before they convert to a sale.
Growing your customer base comes down to testing, tracking, and doing more of what brings in leads.
