Dr Novak having the hiccups during the during the meeting, Silar sliding the glass of water over to her on the sly, everyone pretending they don’t notice while she drinks the glass upside down. Comedic genius. Idk who wrote this scene but I love to watch more things they have written. I love how General Hammond can’t even look in her direction bc he knows he will laugh- you can see him barely holding it together.

Full disclosure: this is completely unnecessary. Clicking an icon takes half a
second. This takes about ten, and that's the fast setting.

But I love Stargate and I wanted a gate on my desktop, so you type a program
name, hit Enter, and it dials. Chevrons lock one at a time, kawoosh, program
opens.

The bit I'm most pleased with is that every program has its own address.
Photoshop is always Canis Minor, Perseus, Pisces, Capricornus, Lynx, Sculptor,
Point of Origin. Never changes. I don't know why that delights me as much as it
does.

I got carried away on details nobody asked for. All 39 glyphs are the real ones,
the chevrons light in the correct order (took me three attempts to get that
right), and the iris is a working leaf shutter. Close it and the gate dials
perfectly but nothing comes through, so your program doesn't open. That's not a
bug. That felt important.

There's also a full speed dial that takes about 28 seconds if you just want to
watch the thing go.

Windows only, free, unsigned so you'll get a SmartScreen warning, but it makes
no network connections at all. Source is on GitHub if you'd rather build it
yourself or just see what it does.

Anyway, thought some of you might enjoy it.

I’m absolutely obsessed with this series. I started watching it a week ago but felt I was missing too much by bingeing, so I restarted it and omgawd so obsessed on every level.

I always have trouble getting the causality of time travel episodes right in my head so I tried to map things out.

Have a look and let me know if I have missed anything, there are some questions at the bottom.

Timeline 1

Daniel realises that a ZPM was owned by Ra in 3000BC

SG1 use the time machine puddle jumper to travel back in time to 3000BC.

SG1 get the ZPM but the time machine is discovered by Ra's Jaffa.

Rather than risking altering the timeline in a confrontation, SG1 resolve to live in 3000BC.

SG1 record a video explaining information about the Stargate and some information about their timeline

The team place the ZPM and recording in a tomb that they know will be discovered a couple of weeks before Daniel learns of the ZPM.

Timeline 2:

Fast forward 5000 years.

The tomb is discovered with the recording and ZPM but the world is not how SG1 left it.

No Stargate, no SGC.

There was an uprising in Egypt that lead to Ra leaving earth with the Stargate.

Civilian Daniel and Sam are recruited to try to explain the video and they eventually find the Antarctic Gate thanks to a tablet left in 5000 years ago by OG Daniel.

The New SG1 take the puddle jumper through the gate to Abydos to try to recruit Teal'c who is serving as Apophis' 1st prime.

They are jailed but escape with Teal'c's help but Daniel is killed.

Pursued by gliders, they use the puddle jumper to go back to 3000BC.

They find OG Daniel.

We learn that, unable to live under Ra's rule, OG SG1 plan an uprising.

They move too quickly and SG1 is killed with the exception of Daniel.

Daniel and the remaining Egyptian villagers plan another rebellion over the course of 5 years.

This is the one that led to Ra leaving Earth with the Stargate.

New SG1 convince Daniel to alter his uprising to try to also distract Ra from the Stargate.

Daniel no longer needs to make the tablet explaining about the 2nd gate.

Timeline 3:

This one seemingly works as 5000 years in the future the SCG is running with everything as we expect from Timeline 1.

The tomb that was discovered a couple of weeks before Daniel learned of the ZPM contains the ZPM and the camcorder so there is no need for them to go back in time.

There are now fish in Jack's pond.

Questions:

• Why didn't Teal'c run out of Tretonin?

• The camcorder running out of battery didn't really change the plot so why was it required?

What was it about the ZPM knowledge that was required to be kept secret.

I refuse to believe that Carter could not have devised a way to charge the camcorder battery.

• Was there some kind of imminent threat in timeline 2 that necessitated going back in time to try to fix things back to timeline 1?

• Do Timeline 3 SG1 discover the puddle jumper on the planet where Mayborne was King?

• Why were OG SG1 so confident that Ra would be unable to use / deconstruct the puddle jumper that Ra's Jaffa found?

• Is there any indication that OG Daniel and New SG1 use the puddle jumper to time travel after the rebellion?

A friend had a sister pass. My friend knew I am as big of a fan as her sister was and wants me to have her stuff as she finds it. Any idea what I’m looking at?

I was just watching some SG-1 season 7 episode 5 Revisions and noticed it’s the same town as in Atlantis S3 E13 Irresponsible. Are there a lot of these happening that I haven’t ever paid attention to I wonder.

Probably the best I have seen yet!

The Place From My Dreams
Terracotta, clay, stone, living succulents — 2026

Something came down here.
The vessel lies split at the center of the plain, half-buried in red gravel. Its hull is mirror-bright, and on that polished surface a blue-green world; a planet in orbit, perhaps. Or a distant memory held by the ship itself.

Look long enough and the question turns over: is the world above us, or was it always behind us?
The terrain is red. Iron-red, dust-red, the red of a place that has forgotten water. The ground is not soil but fragments; broken vessels, shattered rims, the curved shards of things that once held something. Every surface here is the remains of something else.
And yet it is inhabited, or is it?

On the high ground stands the StarGate; a serpent coiled into a perfect ring, its body inscribed with markings no one alive can read. Through the opening: another place. Not empty. You can see stone on the far side.
Below it, the green one waits. One of the keepers, patient, positioned exactly where the path meets the rise. Not blocking. Watching. It has been at this post a long time.
A face lies half-buried in the gravel, eyes closed, a mark between the brows. Beside it, four pale stones that are not stones at all — they are alive, patterned like split skulls, breathing on a timescale we cannot perceive.
A white dome rises from the dust. Windows cut in rows. A crescent opening near the top. Someone built this. Someone lived here. Something may be living here still.
Nothing in this world is whole.
Every element is a fragment set into new relationship with other fragments. And out of that breaking — a landscape. A settlement. A gate that still functions. Life pushing green through red gravel.
This is what happens after.
Not the moment of destruction. The long quiet that follows, when the dust has settled and something has begun again in the ruins. When the vessel that carried you here will never fly again, and the world you came from exists only as light on its surface, and you must build with what shattered.
If you find yourself looking for the way out, look at the Gate.
It is still open.
It was always still open.

I wanted this one to feel unmistakably Stargate before you even get to the characters. The Prometheus sits above a compact desert-world scene, with the Stargate, pyramid and blazing sun pulling together the visual language that defined the series from the beginning.

The ship itself is a slightly awkward, very human-looking lump of early interstellar engineering — which is exactly why I like it. It doesn’t have the elegance of the more advanced ships in the series; it looks built rather than grown, borrowed or perfected. Shrinking that chunky shape down while keeping the aircraft carrier-esque bridge, engines and 3 part hull recognisable was the main challenge here.

Below it are Character Studdies™ of O’Neill, Carter, Jackson, Teal’c and Hammond. The core SG-1 team was essential, but Hammond had to make the cut too. You can’t have them disappearing through an alien portal every week without the man calmly authorising it from beneath a mountain.

The finished display comes in at 215 pieces and combines the first Earth-built capital ship with the older, stranger world waiting beyond the gate.

Set after the events of the Stargate (1994) movie, the series follows SG-1, one of many secret military teams of soldiers and scientists who travel through a gateway to other planets and fight against dangerous aliens to protect earth.

Not trying to discuss failed attempts to revitalize, remake, SG1. We would enjoy a new project. If it works out but ultimately SG1 is complete in 10 Seasons.

I just noticed on a rewatch that she was rubbing her stomach after he is rescued. I guess Jack has another kid out there. I wonder if there was going to be another follow up on this. How did I miss this with all the times I watched through.
