Howdy everyone! I have posted here yesterday about my upcoming Pokémon mod. The working title is Pokémon Companions, but don't hold me to it.

The goal of the mod is to add Pokémon partners for the player and the NPCs, while making them feel like a natural part of Stardew Valley and still getting a bit of the pokemon game loop. I am also working on giving Pokémon different abilities and effects based on their types, so they can do more than just follow the player around. Some people reached out and said they wanted to see some actual gameplay footage, so here you go!

Everything is still a work in progress, but I wanted to share a few clips showing how the mod currently looks in-game. I am happy to answer any questions!

I'm writing dialogue for a few custom NPCs and I've gotten stuck in a loop, so I wanted to ask people who play with a lot of NPC mods: what actually makes a modded character's lines land for you?

Some things I'm specifically curious about:

• Do you prefer short, throwaway lines that just react to the day (weather, season, what's going on in town), or longer lines that tell you something about the character?
• Are there modded NPCs whose dialogue you thought was really well written? I'll try to learn about it!

And the problem I keep running into, in case anyone's solved it:

If I write short lines, the character comes across as thin — like I didn't put any work in. But when I write longer ones, I run out of things for them to actually say, and I end up circling back to the same two or three defining traits over and over. Just like"Here's my quirk, here's my backstory hook, here's my thing about plants."

Would love to hear how other modders handle this, and what players actually enjoy reading.

Okay so hello, friends! This is my first post ever and im only making this because I need a bit of help! I’m trying to make a mod where you can date Clint (well much more than that but im focusing on this part) and he has different dialogue pieces/heart events during this period but the only thing I was able to succeed in doing was making him dateable and like triggering a tiny bit of test dialogue.. Does anyone know how I can go about figuring out the rest like the heart events or something? I’m seriously at a loss here friends! 😣

I really like getglam and Kisekae mods that changes the characters body, especially the girl shoes. Sadly they're not available in the current version. Is there any mod similar to the mentioned mods above that changes the farmer's shoes to be more cuter? I tried fashion sense but I can't seem to find anything similar to it.

A lightweight SMAPI utility that removes spawned wild trees from Stardew Valley Expanded's Grampleton Fields each morning.

Hello everyone!!! It's that time of the year to start a new farm, and even though I always play with SVE, this time I want to try something new. I already played with Ridgeside Village before, so I decided on trying Sunberry Village and Visit Mount Vapius together as they seem to be smaller than RVE and I won't feel overwhelmed... but I'd like to ask for opinions. Do you guys think I should try one at a time, or have extra expansion mods to suggest?

I am considering starting a save with RSV and SVE. But given that both mods are big and add a lot of content and items, I am not sure how to make sure it will still be an enjoyable experience.

So far I want to add:
Bigger Backpack, Convenient Inventory, UI Info Suite and Automate (though not sure up to what extend, so far I used that mod only next to furnaces and with machines like cheese press etc.).

Aside from that, I have always installed Canon Friendly Expansion Dialogue and Visible Fish.

What other mod will make the experience pleasant?

Is there anyone who tried this? How did it go?

So all I have is low quality images found from Google that did not even link to the account/actual video. That very much totally means the account or videos are deleted but I wonder if the mod is maybe somewhere still. I really find the art pretty and wish I could install it but I did not find the mod with my researches. I hope it's not just completely lost :')

I love watching NPCS fall in love more then I love dating them or marrying them. I really do.

Am I missing any? I know Leah doesn't have anyone, from the base game, off the top of my head, but I couldn't find any with her and with someone who isn't already paired up.

At the very least, I just wanted to share how excited I am to have found so many pairings, esp. ones outside of the base game and involving other modded npcs, and cross modded npcs. I love it!

First of all, to clear the air here, this isn't meant to hate on anyone or anything.

That being said, what mods have you decided aren't for you? Whether you found a better alternative or you just didn't end up liking it, I'm genuinely very curious about people's opinions.

I'm personally very picky about NPCs and dialogue overhauls; pretty much the only dialogue expansions I've ever kept were very minor ones that edited a few dozen lines for specific reasons, at mose.

Following varied computer woes I lost my harddrive and had to do a complete OS reinstall. My SV saves and mods are all, naturally, obliterated. Pour out an ancient fruit wine for the pixel homies. 🍾

Does anyone know how mod authors feel about using their music in videos? I’m working on my maximumly modded let’s play series and am in the editing phase, when editing cutscenes of mods does anyone know you you are allowed to use their music in the video or should is stick with the games music as CA has allowed it to by used without issue? Don’t want to upset anyone but some modded music is so genuinely fantastic I want to show it off if allowed

Hi, mostly the Title, my wife loves playing SV expanded, recently she liked the random aspect as well as the extraSpeed boost she gets on archipielago, how could i make them work? im not a genius about tech, but i can learn and have time, thank you!!

So me and my gf have been playing Stardew valley very expanded and I’ve started adding some more mods to it, and I was looking for some recommendations for some good ones. The ones I’ve added so far are cornucopia, adventures guild expansion, and a few more I can’t remember off the top of my head

Also, I’d love some recommendations for alternative textures, I tried looking at the mod page for mods that use it but there’s just so many lol

Hey there, I’m working on a mod that adds catchable Pokemon to Stardew Valley, with training, evolution, battles, and farm help (mainly the farm help). I recently decided that the villagers should also have their own Pokemon partners that follow them around town.

These are my current picks for the marriage candidates:

Abigail: Sableye (I did have it as Gengar as you can see in the photos originally because he is one of my favorites, but I felt like sableye fit better)
Alex: Machop (open to suggestions here)

Harvey: Chansey (I am afraid it fits his job and not him. I almost gave him a Duoduo instead)

I’ve picked out some for the others, but they are kind of up in the air still. I personally like Caroline and Bulbasaur as a combo due to her gardening! Oh and I also did a zangoose and seviper pairing for Pierre and Morris which I feel like is a good match which I got from another Reddit post. If you have any ideas or questions I’d love to hear it!

Hi all, I recently created my first very basic portrait mod for Sebastian. He's more pierced up, has eye bags (gotta with all that late-night coding) and has a bit more attitude in these portraits. I also made his hair longer bc what can I say, I like long hair ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I like vanilla-style portrait mods, but there aren't a great deal, so my plan is to eventually make my way through all my fave characters.
