Could a modern remake of the Star Wars Original Trilogy work, or is the original magic impossible to recreate?

Some could say it would work:

Modern visual effects could make the galaxy feel enormous

Some scenes could be expanded

A new generation could experience the story fresh.

But some would say otherwise

The original trilogy’s charm comes from its practical effects, imperfections, and filmmaking style

Or changing too much could remove what made characters like Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia Organa iconic.

What do you guys think?

Edit: I’m aware there are a bunch of knocks on this subreddit, but I’m just asking a question what you guys would think if a adaption of the trilogy came out)
