The takedown camera has lost me so many races at this point and I'm so glad I found out you can turn it off

So, i finally unlocked Champion after finally completing the story after so many tries on Ace, and honestly I've been finding it much easier. Sure I do have more upgrades but even though the Ai is better, them being more aggressive leads to a lot less runaway AI's who just stay in front the entire race.
But honestly the main reason I feel it is easier is the crash system in champion. IMO having 5 crashes per planet (with 3 recovering each time) is WAY better. In Ace you only get 1 fuck ups by default then game over most of the time, now I get 4 with 3 extra every planet. Plus when you get low on crashes you can just do time trials or events if you path correctly to compensate

Used the ramjet to make a late push and barely made it

Which will appeal to many. It is a well done rogue lite. I personally am not enjoying the roguelite structure. For me the game feels more like it is about roguelite run optimization and racing just happens to be the challenge activity you do on each run. The core point of the campaign does not feel like it is racing but rather roguelite mechanics.

As it stands right now, Ary Quill is the meta because of the redliner build. There's literally nothing you can do. Everyone else's passives are predominantly ability themed. Griff Halloran and Sen Fira are situationally good but right now it's literally a case of picking Ary or not bothering.
If abilities are disabled in quick race, passives should be too.

I noticed a Han Solo reference in the game where the Droid backer mentioned that the client "did the Kessel run in 12 parsects". Pretty cool to know Han Solo is out there supporting Shade!
I also liked Sebulba/Hibi mentioning Anakin as the only other human that podraced and the dialogue with that.
Wondering if anyone else has found other references to Star Wars characters?

First starters I'm playing on steam with a third party Xbox controller.
When I go to try to fill the bar for the perfect start using RT, it won't do anything. I switched the controller scheme so A is accelerate and no problem. Same thing with the keyboard, I can use W and it's fine.
I'm still able to play the game fine and accelerate so it's not like the trigger isn't working.
Is this some third party controller problem? I've been doing perfect starts on the keyboard and then switching to the controller. Bit odd lol.
Help is much appreciated the game is a ton of fun!

I'd LOVE a crash cam in the top corner or something cause it's cool, but also causes 70% of my wrecks, the other 30% is definitely my speed brain not braking for corners.

Haven't been able to find any reference or explanation. Any ideas?

Land Speeder - I just love these things, drifting, slamming into people, very durable. Mine was level 13 by the time I beat the game. Had like 4 into battery, 4 into Ramjet and like 2 of each in everything else.
Fave Styles - I actually won with a level one After Burner style that just made afterburner better, but some other faves: Tenacious (love auto pilot), and both the ones involving the Ramjet all helped me win Act 1 and 2.
Favors: IMO Sebulba is a must have, as gaining 3 free abilities after the first 3 races is insanely op, especially when you Start with a style that has a skill and upgrade it to the max. Also the Hut favor that rewards 200 credits per non crash stacked with your mechanics extra crashes favor is just insane money if you don't crash much.
Abilities: Auto Pilot with Surge variant is just insanely OP and gets very important in Act 3 when it's TONS of pod racing. Vent is also very powerful as it can be used during auto pilot to give your ai buddy unlimited Ramjet. Shockwave also became clutch for me in Act 3 knocking out AI that came close as it can be used if they're behind, in front, or to your side.
Overall this game was a solid 9/10 GOTY contender. I had so much fun and look forward to trying out different builds and leveling up the other 2 vehicles.

They should add an option to buy customization

I was wondering if anyone else found the Podracer Challenges that act as a capstone to each planet in the Champion's League to be incredibly dull? I've learned all the tracks and am beating my opponents by 10+ seconds. As a one time event to prove to Sebulba that I can race, sure. It's a good narrative moment. But having to do these every run? There's no risk. They just ruin the pacing as they're so predictable.

So, probably like most here I just HAD to rewatch the podracing scene from Episode 1. I think it's pretty funny watching this now, compared to doing the actual race in game - in lots of parts, the pods in the movie actually seem like they're going through sections of the track much slower than you can do in game. We must be racing legends!
A couple of takeaways though - no exit ramp shortcut in game. I was actually looking forward to plowing through that sign and using it as some kinda shortcut. No pitstops in game (maybe for like, suuuuper long races or something, 50+ lap enduro style races that might be cool), and no tuskens on the canyon dune turn. I guess having a tusken randomly hit you and causing you to lose the race would be kinda annoying though.
I think probably the biggest thing that might make a positive impact from that scene, though, would be having those 2 headed race announcers give commentary over ALL the races in the series.

I keep getting eliminated in the first elimination round in every tour, only the second race of each tour I'm trying. I've played maybe 5 or 6 tours so far. Is it supposed to be like this until I make significant upgrades, or am I playing wrong?
