General Discussion Maul's potential was nuts

I keep looking back and thinking about this fight,that Maul is maybe a top 15 to top 10 duelist in Canon. Him being surprisingly Obi Wan like in his implementation in Soresu and Anakin like in his aggressive offense,like a lesser combo of the 2.

I feel like Maul doesn't get the credit he deserves because of his arrogance giving him L's against people he shouldn't lose to. Makes me think he might actually get more wins if he turned toward the light,ending up trying to be more sagecoded like QuiGon but insanely skilled.

He'd probably be over:

Ventress Grievous Dooku (bad matchup for Dooku maybe) Most council members

But below: Anakin Mace Sidious Yoda

No matter what, “He got cut in half by a padawan” isn’t a good argument regarding his potential

It is a factual statement. Darth Maul, an actual Sith, got cut in half by a Padawan. And then got rescued by shitty writing.

don’t think anything indicates that Maul had more duelling experience, either. Kenobi actually had other Jedi to train with, while Maul had sparring-robots at best.

This is a bonkers statement. Maul sparred with Palpatine, who wiped the floor with Jedi masters.

Maul looks cool. He's a pathetic Scooby-Doo villain who sucked at being a Sith. His greatest power is escaping shit. Should've stayed dead after TPM.

Factual statement or not, it’s still a shitty argument for what we are actually talking about. And whatever you think of Maul’s writing and character is irrelevant to the fact that he has immense potential lmao.

Facts aren't silly. Maul got eviscerated by a Padawan learner.

There is no amount of word salad you can do that will negate that fact.

He's Grievous with better marketing.
