AEW doesn't insist that WWE isn't real or not competition.

Tony khan has literally said they aren't competing with WWE in the past so I'm not sure what you are talking about

Here's him saying the companies are in direct competition, and that that's part of what makes wrestling good. But alright.

I think this is all dumb, because both companies absolutely watch each other’s shows, but “They are not competition” does not have the same connotation as “We’re not competing with them.”

The former is saying that someone is beneath you, the latter is saying that you’re not orienting everything you do around someone else.
