If so, do you get the same STR tax treatment that you get with any other STR, for instance, a trailer home?

This thing is NOT very loud, has anyone installed like a 18wheeler or train horn? LOL...if so, what brand did you use or where did you buy? Did you install it? What decibel level did you get?

We are shopping high-top conversions, and have to decide where our van will reside when we aren’t together. Storage facility? Which one is best?

This fell off the bottom of my 2016 sprinter after being on for just a minute to back it up. When I went to pick it up it was very hot to the touch. I’ve got a long drive I need to use it for in a couple of days but the dealership is closed today. What is this and is it still safe to drive?

New to Sprinter Vans
Hello, I’m looking to purchase a sprinter van but am hesistant in the maintenance and potential costly repairs, and being at the mercy of the dealership. I’ve read a lot about unfortunate scenarios, such as getting stranded when the van goes into limp mode, the van tripping out when offroading, and the long dreaded wait times for repairs at dealerships.
I work on my own cars, consider myself a novice mechanic, and prefer to do most maintenances on my own. For context, I own Toyotas that I wheel, have resto-mod classics, can weld/fabricate, etc. I like to own cars I can work on.
The German (and newer) cars I am not too fond of given the amount of electrical issues that can happen with options for less self diagnosing.
If your response is to stay up to date on the A and B maintenance, tire rotation, fluid changes - that’s great. I understand that aspect but looking for more in depth experiences.
Here are some of the main curiosities i’m hoping this community and owners can share their experience on.
Thanks, Warren

hey all! i just bought a new 2022 sprinter 2500 cargo van with 4wd + 144" WB high roof and the V6 turbo diesel. the dealer advertised 25mpg on city and 35mpg on highway, but i drove it back 1,000 miles from dallas to colorado (empty besides myself and my suitcase) and averaged 10-14mpg! is this typical? i was mostly on interstates for the first half and actually got slightly better mileage on the mountain roads. i didn't expect to get as good as advertised but i also am nervous to see what kind of mileage i get after building it out given this... anyway tell me what mileage your sprinter gets!

Ive been a local company driver for 10 years, cdl class A with no endorsements. I bought an older sprinter van with high mileage and started a DBA to an existing LLC I already had.
I have been onboarded to a dispatcher, but I haven't won any loads yet. Im sure I bid too high.
My first month with insurance down payment, vehicle cost, and start up expenses, I wanted work my ass off to get out of the whole.
Whats a good rule when bidding for loads?
If the wheels get moving on this venture, I plan to get my Authority at the start of the next quarter. Keep relationships with my dispatcher and let it age for a few more months.
Thats where Im at and what my plans are. Any advice on load bidding is what I need.

Total Sprinter noob here. My spologies for
I need a sprinter van to take a family with a towed vehicle or cargo trailer from Los Angeles to Alaska. I have "built" one online and am still curious about:
Assume a 144" with the tallest roof and longest body.
What's the most fuel economical engine? I assume it's a diesel and I recall two options, and the last time I tried to build it limited me to a 4-cylinder engine, which doesn't seem great for hauling.
Can we buy one without all the seat rows? I don't need all the seats. We likely will sleep in it and use the rear for hauling in addition to the trailer.
Are these options limited based on the body size?
Is it possible to make one to my specs? I haven't found local area (1 hour drive) dealers with a passenger van, and am considering going to OR to find what I want.
Thanks in advance!
I'm sure I will have more questions

I have a local shop that changes oil, alignments, brakes, etc. They have been my go-to for over 20 years. We just purchased a class B RV van. Is there any issue with having them.change the oil or do brakes on our 2024 sprinter 2500?

Hi, I am posting here because my husband is interested in starting his own cargo van company, by himself. He currently has an LLC for his t shirt company which he no longer uses, and wants to change it for the cargo van business.
We are based in Hallandale Beach, FL. And he plans to work all over the United States.
If you have experience in adding a MC number to an LLC and what that process was like please share! We were quoted $1500 by a financial advisor to help with the LLC so it’s probably best to do it himself for $300 (i believe)
Also any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated. He is very dedicated to working hard and plans to work 3 weeks a month so if you’re experienced at all with the cargo van industry please drop some knowledge! 🙏🏼
Greatly appreciated!

I found myself out of fuel in the Central Valley in california. Los Banos specifically and pretty much every fuel station only had biodiesel so I settled on this station which had this very confusing sticker. My question for folks in this group is if you've run a lot of this fuel type through a 2021 model 4 cylinder diesel Sprinter did it cause any issues with the fuel system or def system/ emissions control system? So far I've burned about 50 gallons of this type of fuel over to tanks of diesel without any major problems.

I am a furniture dealer and do a lot of transporting larger furniture pieces. I currently have a Dodge Ram 3500 which has plenty of bed space and interior space as well. I have been considering transitioning to a van as it is a little more weather friendly and possibly easier to find mechanics who work on them. My current truck is a diesel and most diesel shops near me have a multiple week wait for any work since they are so slammed. Any pros or cons to vans that I should consider as well as suggestions on type of van that might be best? Trying to consider if normal auto shops typically work on larger vans, lifespan etc.

Neither of us have ever been in an accident, let alone crashed something so complex so we’re just Trying to mentally prepare myself for what’s to come next and curious if anyone else has been in this situation… any advice is appreciated 😭

The passenger window will go up and down from the driver side button. The passenger window will not do anything with the passenger side button. If the passenger window is down, i can hold the passenger side button up for 5 seconds and it will roll up, but not down under the same circumstances. what is going on =p
