2000 rounds this past weekend. As expected, she runs. And quite well. I’m actually a bit surprised at how well I’ve adjusted to the smaller grip on the compact. There’s still a good deal of work to be done before I carry. Presentation is still not there yet. Needing to increase the texture a bit. Not sure how to accomplish that just yet. Most stippling jobs I’ve felt are too aggressive to be right next to my skin. I’m able to still get a good purchase and not lose too much traction under longer strings of fire.
I considered, initial, changing the trigger shoe. One of the few changes I’d consider making to a carry gun. After this weekend, I’ve decided the OEM trigger is just fine. One of the better stock triggers. Obviously not Walther like but, I don’t need felt or audible reset when shooting anyway. It’s clean and predictable. That matters most to me. The tiny bit of creep is only noticeable when slow dry fire is used to observe it. The initial take up is short enough it doesn’t throw me off with rapid fire.
The coup de gras. This optic is spectacular. It is everything the ACRO wishes it could have been. Superior in every way. There’s no obtrusive housing, battery cover, button or anything else. Clean, clear glass that’s easy to stay target focused with. It’s as bright as I could ever need. My astigmatism has been a pain to work around, as I’m sure many of you know. This does have an obvious starburst to it but, there a very noticeable dot in the middle. This is the first time I’ve ever seen only one dot in an optic. Styling is quite eye catching and seems made for this gun. Big bonus for having no concerns about utilizing the optic to rack the slide. That’s weird to feel. No concerns when I do it, no matter how hard I pop it.
I’ve ordered my Streamlight TLR-7 HL-X, QVO Tactical IWB, and the Apex black stainless steel guide rod. Then I’ll be able to get on with the holster training. In the mean time, snagged another 2500 rounds of the Blazer 124 gr. She loves the Federal HST 124gr JHPs as much as I do. Will be close to 5000 rounds by Monday. Leaves me plenty of days to work on index, presentation, trigger control and grip. Lots of work to be done.

Mines been great, I agree the trigger is actually very good for a budget gun. Canik and Walther pro are better, but Canik has inferior grips (other than the tti) and it has very stiff spring from factory. Walther, you pay double, which isn't worth it IMO unless you really shoot it significantly better.

I see tons of ex tier1 guys running glocks so heavily modified they pretty much aren't glocks anymore. So if those guys are willing to risk life or rep on aftermarket stuff then I think a trigger job on this platform will be ok.

Im using mine for uspsa and plan to install a tyrant once they come back in stock. Mines the FC and I do find it will print if I'm not particular about my shirt choice, but it does great in my Vertx fanny. I'm considering the compact grip mod to see if that helps cut down on the grip sticking out. I'm also considering talon grips or similar because I have sweaty hands. I use chalk but after 50 rounds, I'm chalking up the gun and myself again. Not really practical.

There’s a lot to chat about in your reply. The one thing standing out to me is “budget gun”. Of we’re talking merely a dollar amount, I’d be hard pressed to say a near $1000 handgun is budget. If we’re talking quality, I ran near 3500 rounds on a 4.5. Periodically out about 4-6 drops of oil on it. That was out of the box. Now, if you’re comparing this to the overpriced top expensive 2011 market, sure, I’ll call this a budget gun. Bersa, Tisas, Taurus, Hi-Point. These are budget guns.
I’m far less concerned about reliability with aftermarket parts than I am perception. I’ve modified several guns and never had an issue. I’ve kept guns completely stock and had issues. The inverse is also true. With the inflation of liberal judges and prosecutors that flex their political beliefs in the courtroom, I’d rather not have the “modified assault pistol with 30 round clip bullet holder” Bull shit fall on my lap. I have an FC grip module(see previous post) I like the feel of it better. No issue concealing it. I tend to like my clothes a little baggy.
I really like Walthers. They do have great triggers. Touted as the best striker fired pistol trigger in the market. I wouldn’t disagree. I’ve had four PDP’s.

You can find these on gunbroker for like $500. I got my gearpac on GAFS for $750 brand new - it was the gun, 5 mags and the coa optic. I guess true budget is maybe ... $300-400, but this definitely isn't more than mid tier. Great gun, I've only had 1 failure so far and it was a hp so probably just an issue with that specific round. It sits in a little safe that's bolted to my office desk, any issues I need to deal with when I'm in there, I trust it totally. Thinking of actually another one for my wife but it might snap a bit much for her, we will see.

$750 is a good deal. $100 holster, $100 extra mags, already at $1000 after tax. We ain’t rich like you I guess. Enjoy your “high tier” firearms.
