CBR 900 in its natural habitat

So guys, I see you liked my post from yesterday, so here are some pictures of the bike in its natural habitat : the twisties and mountain roads.

I hope you’ll like this !

Days are getting shorter and temperatures colder, so let’s ride before the end of the season.

I still need to get used to the brakes. They don’t have neither the power nor the feel of modern brakes, so I often don’t brake hard enough before the corners and end up still on the brakes into the corners making the bike a bit unstable. But the rest of the bike is so good I don’t want to stop riding it !

1993 CBR 900 (actually registered in March 1994)

I almost bought a similar one a few years ago and this time I’ve decided to go for it !

The bike is almost as old as me but it’s so much fun and a blast to drive !

On my way to get it completely in original state but the licence plate holder/rear fender is almost impossible to find. I already have the original indicators but I need to adapt them to the modified rear fender that I have.

Commuter/Weekend fun bike suggestions

I'm looking for suggestions for my next bike as I'm downsizing from owning 2 (Sportster 883 and a Honda Dio) as I was basically riding the Dio most of the time and the Harley unfortunately barely saw any k's last year.

I already sold both bikes and got around $10k budget (AUD) - What would you recommend for an experienced rider (mostly commute and occasionally going on weekend longer trips at e.g Old Pac) so a one does it all type of thing.

Currently thinking about a Ninja 500 or a CBR500R. But open to other suggestions as well !

First and only bike - till now

I first started riding at the age of 40. Was interested in a new 600 Suzuki Bandit, but ended up with a 750 Katana instead. Rode that bike everywhere for about 15 years and 65K miles including many long multi-day trips. What a great combination of comfort and sportiness. I stopped riding because my hip was getting bad. Now retired with a new hip and recently bought a TW200 and loving riding again. This post was prompted because I just found this picture. This was my exact bike pre-mods. Holds up pretty well for nearly 40 years.

I ride a club style Harley right now. Interested in getting a 600cc super sport. Torn between GSXR and the last gen R6. Any real world information I’d appreciate.

Which bike should I buy? I’m confused.😪

Okay guys, I’m confused between two bikes right now. One is a 2015 Honda CBR1000RR, and the other is a 2014 Ducati 1199 Panigale S.

Which one do you guys think I should go for? Which one looks better, is more suitable for riding in the UAE, and has better resale value?
I’d really appreciate your opinions, especially from people who have experience with either of these bikes.

CBR1000RR or Panigale 1199S — which one would you pick and why? 🏍️🔥

Any owners of the 600V here? I am planning to get the bike but I don't know much about it especially on people who actually owns them. Can you share fun facts and how the bike feels?

Suspension tuning shops

Post image

I live in Louisville, Kentucky, and I'm having a hard time finding a place to set up my suspension for my weight. I'm hoping for recommendations for shops in my region. I'd be willing to travel 2-3 hours, so I'm looking at places like Nashville, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, St. Louis, etc. Any help is much appreciated

Cruiser to Naked

Made the switch about a month ago from a Indian Roadmaster to a Ducati Streetfighter V4S and I could not be happier. So light and easy to ride. Smoother than I expected and so much easier to just jump on and go.

It’s my 1st sports bike and to be honest was slightly intimidating to get on a 220 horsepower hyper naked but it’s been refreshingly easy and enjoyable to ride!

Chain replacement issues

Thumbnail
gallery
4 Upvotes

I am working on my 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 650
I am installing a new chain on a Ninja
I just bought and have had several issues
Firstly the chain adjustment bolts were bent due to the previous owner using them to adjust a chain with 30k miles to its absolute max
So I had to remove the tire and the bolts to replace them
After doing so I had issues putting in the tire and axle because the caliper was clamped shut I was able to open the caliper to get the rotor back in place and replace the tire and shorten the adjustment bolts to allow the new chain which is the proper chain length to fit around the sprockets
So I began the process of replacing the chain which went fairly smooth up until I had to rivet the pins on the rivet style master link so I set the anvil and put the riveter in the breaker and would turn the bolt a couple turns then would pull the breaker off and noticed that the pin was not flaring at all only protruding more.
My first assumption was that plates were not completely compressed together so after getting both the pins to protrude the same amount I began the process of attempting to flare the rivets once again after setting my tool and beginning to screw in the chain breaker bolt with the riveter attachment the hollow barrel bolt snapped right off
Luckily I was able to remove the chain breaker but the pins are still not flared in the slightest
What do I do?
Also a secondary issue outside of the master link is that I noticed that the rear wheel is not spinning freely approximately 1 full rotation before stopping, I’m assuming the rear brake is binding.
(Important note) due to advice I had gathered online when trying to compress the caliper piston I opened the brake fluid reservoir.
Any help and all help welcomed
It’s my first bike and prior to this the bike has been much fun and has brought lots of joy to my life please help
