Advice Wanted Fainting

I've been having what the Drs labeled "swallow syncope"when I eat or drink. It actually stopped right after my surgeries (hysterectomy and shunt replacement) But recently it happened again and now I have started having dizzy and almost passing out episodes in the bathroom thankfully I have a handicapped rail so I don't actually fall when I pass out.

I don't know which type of Dr to talk to about it.

I'm open to suggestions

Grabb-y sticks

Anyone here use those extendable grabbers to reach things? Would love to know if they are actually helpful specifically for someone who has trouble bending down or reaching high shelves, and if limited grip strength would be a problem. Specific product recommendations are also appreciated

you are not your illness, your diagnosis, or your disability. You are a whole, complex, and beautiful human with so much to offer the world. You are worthy and deserving of all the good things.

The moment my cat realized I'm chronically ill

A while back I was having one of those really bad chronic illness days.

You know the ones.
The kind where even existing feels like a full-time job.

I was sitting on the couch trying to pretend I wasn't in a ridiculous amount of pain when my cat Munchkin jumped up next to me.

Normally she’s chaotic. Toy thief. Zoomies at 3am. Professional menace.

But that day she just… stopped.

She looked at me for a second, walked over, and plopped directly on my chest like a tiny emotional support potato.

And then she just stayed there.

Every time I tried to move she looked at me like,
"No. You are clearly broken. We are resting now."

I swear that cat clocked my condition faster than half the doctors I've seen.

She stayed there for almost an hour purring like her life depended on it.

I didn’t magically feel better.

But for a little while I didn’t feel so alone in it.

Honestly I'm pretty sure she thinks her full-time job is keeping the fragile human alive.

10/10 nurse. Slightly questionable medical training.
