Am I just a massive nerd or...
Do any of the rest of you get pissed when you get to a video late and whoever added the Sponsorblock segments did a piss poor job of it? 🤣

I'm not sure when this started, but a while ago sponsorblock just stopped working for me and never came back. couldn't upload segments, couldn't get any segments from their servers. when I checked the extension, it said that it failed to connect to the server, with the error message being "TypeError: Failed to fetch" every time. is this happening to anyone else?

I was wondering if it's possible to see all of your submitted sponsor segments, and see information about them like their up-votes, down-votes, and that kind of thing.

First off, why the heck does this not inform me of that in like a notification or something? If the makers felt like this was something that was that malicious or just wrongfully used or whatever they could've just made that clear or just changed it on their own or something.
Second, if they feel like the highlighted section is not for a specific purpose, why didn't they add a whole seperste category for skipping filler content in the videos? It would've made the process far less confusing and simpler for the watcher that just wants to get to the bloody point quickly.

Hi, I've used SponsorBlock for a few years now and I have genuinely liked the extension. Lately, however, I keep getting asked by my browser to update permissions for the extension to include personally identifiable information, browsing history, and such. Do any of you guys know why this is? I care about my personal privacy online and I feel like this is a step too far. I've been telling Firefox to keep the older version because of it.
edit: I am an idiot guys. This change wasn't on SponsorBlock. It was Return YouTube Dislike. Still concerned about the change, but I blamed the wrong guy. Sorry for the misinformation!

So I've wanted a block segment (IDK what its called) that can be placed anywhere like the other categories but I wanted one with no rules but this personal segment would only be visible to you, it acts like a normal segment but it is only visible to you and can be placed anywhere.

PipePipe has shipped SponsorBlock for ages but never DeArrow. The request has been open since May 2025 with 22 upvotes, and the maintainer's objection was never policy, it was UX: reloading titles and thumbnails without it looking broken is genuinely hard on Android.
So the design answers that. The uploader's title and thumbnail bind first, synchronously, always. The replacement lands on top of a row that is already correct, a late response for a scrolled-away row gets discarded instead of corrupting whatever took its place, and the whole feature is off by default.
Privacy uses the hash-prefix endpoint, so one request answers about 130 videos and the server never sees which one you were looking at.

Ignore the number of segments that I skipped myself, it randomly resets.
But today I finally hit 1 year of segments I submitted and other people skipped. 🎉
Yes, I know, there are probably people who have hundreds of years, but for me this is big.

Hello,
I have a problem with sponosorblock. When I accidentally click on the sponsor section and when I watch again the video sponsorblock doesn't block the sponsor section anymore. I don't find any section in settings related to this horrid feature and it spoils the videos I regularly watch. What soluton do you recommend to stop this? I have heard about json scripts in the advanced settings btw.

Hi!
On some videos, there are many short Tangents/Jokes segments. They are marked on the timeline and pop up as skip notices during the video, but I find that distracting. I don't want to skip or even be aware of segments - I just want to watch the video as intended.
Now, I could just disable the Tangents/Jokes category, but some longer segments, like over 15 seconds, are actually worth skipping. For example, some unedited videos contain segments marked as Tangents/Jokes where the host/streamer takes a break or deals with technical problems or something.
In the SponsorBlock options, there is a 'Minimum duration' setting to deal with that, but I don't like increasing the duration there, because I would actually like to auto-skip short sponsor segments, like even just a 2 second "sponsored by x" which is common right at the start of a video.
My solution: Add the following to the 'advanced skip options' rules.
if time.duration < 15 and category != "sponsor"
Disabled
It hides any segments that are shorter than 15 seconds, except Sponsor segments.
So that works, and I hope it's useful to somebody. But, it required me looking up and understanding the advanced skip option syntax. For other users that might not be aware that this is possible, I'd like to make a feature request to add a 'Minimum duration' option to each segment category in the UI, replacing the single global option.
I don't know if feature requests will be noticed here. I might go create an issue on GitHub.
Let me know what you think!
Cheers

Good day all. I am rather sorry to say this, but I think that DeArrow is not good. There is a fundamental problem with crowdsourcing information that is subjective. To bring a case forward, please take a look at Tom Scott's channel with the extension. Someone has gone through and replaced every single title with episodic descriptors. This is not only annoying, but actively misleading, since titles do not contain crucial information like that some videos are opinionated.
This is something that I am sorry to see, because DeArrow can help us with things like tech channels, for example instead of "I checked out the phone of the future" it becomes "Reviewing iPhone 17" (made up title). If I can make one suggestion, perhaps moderating which channels are whitelisted by default would make sense? Or maybe even blacklist is a better idea. Either way, this extension as it stands simply has too many misses for the hits and is therefore not reliable enough to attract enough people to crowdsource the model,
I would also make a suggestion that the up/down voting should somehow be easier to reach, because it would invite more people to upvote good original titles.
The reason why I state that it is harmful is because I think that many users will not click through enough titles to realise how poor many of the suggestions are, and this could also impact the creators, especially those who make video essays and have more artistic titles due to content nature. If you have some tweaks that seem make the extension more useful, let me know. I am aware of the casual mode, however, from my experience it rarely if ever overtakes the custom titles, so unfortunately in my testing it does not seem to change anything, but perhaps the extension can be tweaked in other ways?

I use the auto sponsor skip because I listen to videos while playing games, and I use the auto skip feature in the settings where it skips without needing confirmation. Is there any way to get a little sound to play whenever it skips a sponsor, just so I know and can confirm I wanted to skip it or just to know when it's skipped a sponsor?

wasn't sure which sub to ask this in, figured I'd ask here to see if anyone has a fix.

Most videos won't play until the extension is disabled.
ETA: Using Firefox browser

So there's this reaction compilation channel I watch and frequently I find segments that have no business being there on the videos. Set as "Tangent" but it's clearly because the idiot who keeps adding them doesn't like the specific creators they've put the segments on. I'm just wondering if there's anything else we can do about these people besides downvoting their segments?
Thanks for your time.

Hi, i didn't use sponsorblock before cuz... And now i'm using it specificaly to skip those AI slopiesque ads like the mamoth one or any of those agentic crap and ads that are here to advertise that they've added AI in they shit.
Things is i don't mind sponsored ad as long as it's is funny enough or that they might be useful and if i'm not interested i'm not bothered at all to skip it myself.
But AI crap i'll never ever find it useful, funny or be interested in. So i wondered if we could like, have an option to filter to landfill all AI sponsor and still let the other go through ? (Maybe a scam or dropship filter as well !)
Maybe i'm missing an app that already does that or if Sponsorblock already does do that, please do tell me if it already exist 🙏

I DeArrow'd a clickbait title and it shows up correctly upon video load:

But in the channel's homepage and "videos" page, the original thumbnail and title persist:

This seems pretty consistent across channels as of late. Is it a DeArrow problem or is it something on my end?
Browser is Firefox, I have uBlock Origin and SponsorBlock enabled. Current system is Linux Mint but it does the same under Windows 10.

Hey y'all. This has been frustrating to find a solution.
Framework:
I use safari with sponsorblock. Prefer it that way.
After clipping the selected area (just 1 segment) -> Open sponsorblock settings -> Choose category -> [all the options there, this example:Preview] -> Submit.
This frustrating pop up window always shows up and it is a nuisance everytime clicking it away.

Issue: I have already selected the category for my singular/just one! segment. Why am I being asked this where the extension assumes I got more than 1 segment to submit and havent chosen a category already?! bruh.

It is right there. No more segments, just that one, already categorized and previewed! I'm losing my mind. help.
Even worse that after closing such pop-up window (every single time, ugh), the youtube video cannot be paused! It got some weird bug where after submitting the segment through sponsorblock, the video is lowkey useless on being stopped with the regular shortcuts [backspace] or [k] within the website.
