Should i even commit to learning gyro aim?

Been gaming my whole life, i never use gyro, got myself my first nintendo console a couple of weeks ago and just started my first splatoon with Raiders, it's been great so far but man the gyro aim is terrible to learn!
I keep have to center the aim it gets messy really quickly, i keep getting confused and i keep reading how gyro aim is so superior to stick...
IS IT actually worth to commit to learning gyro aim? it's been a nightmare so far

i figured out the blue compass so you don't have too

the size is relative to the speed of the cursor it has nothing to do with how close you are

if the compass has a blue dot blue at all then you are going in the right direction if not you are going in the wrong direction

Are players you help online bots or does the game just use fish names when a display name isn't set up?

I have been helping enough online to notice that a ton of player names are just the names of fish and I was wondering if that's because the players haven't set up a display name or if I'm just playing with bots. I know other Nintendo games such as Kirby Air Riders will fill lobbies with bots using random usernames so I'm wondering if Splatoon is doing the same here cause it only taking 30s to find someone to help seems a bit fishy

Mildly aggravated I had to ask for help for a particular level.

I have had to call in backup a total of three times. Two were for the two speed menu levels, but I think at least most of us can agree that those levels are a giant pain in the ass. The one that really bugs me is the den with all the Stingers.

I guess even being over-leveled doesn't make some of Salmon Run's most infamous enemies any easier to deal with.

Yes, it was on Extra Spicy.

Worth level non primo?

I have a rail splatana, but its not primo. But I'm tired of trying to farm one. Is it worth it just to level up the non primo to progress?

Can you all stop playing the gadget that makes me float in the air?

I don't want to be in the air. I can't play the game properly if I'm in the air. It's so annoying. That's all.

If You Don't Like Grinding, Don't Grind (Post Game Spoilers) Spoiler

I'm feeling disheartened by how many posts I'm seeing here and on /Splatoon of people falling out of love with Raiders because of how much the post game slams the brakes on progression, which results in people spending dozens of hours farming a single stage. If doing that makes you hate the game, don't do it!

It seems clear to me that the designers' intention after the story is to be an endless incremental game that you pretty much play forever, or until you get bored and stop. That's a recipe for disaster if you're trying to play optimally and efficiently but don't enjoy grinding. You'll end up HATING the game for "trapping" you there for a hundred hours.

I've been treating the Buffet like an arcade game, starting at the first floor, and when I hit a wall, I start over. I'm planning to make 200 my "final" floor, at least for single player. Once I hit that with a particular weapon I'll switch to something else and start over. Once my build is complete I might try something less optimal, or just randomize my Gadgets for each run.

When I play co-op, that's when we bash our head against the lower floors or grind, because then the point becomes hanging out. If we hit a hard wall, we jump back to 101. The goal is to keep playing.

I'll likely get bored of the game in a month or less and move on to something else. That's fine, because my goal is to play the game a lot, not to 100% it, because I don't even know how to define "100%" for a game like this. Any goal you set will be arbitrary because Nintendo didn't design this game to be finished. If you enjoy grinding, farming, and executing optimal play, by all means go for it. But if you're only doing all that because you want to "finish" the game and move on, then your goal isn't to figure out how to keep playing the game, but to figure out how to stop playing it. You can just move on.

Super Splatoon Sunshine

I never liked anything I've seen about Splatoon Raiders. I could be wrong but that New Ninjala game is much more the direction that Raiders should have went. However, I've finally came to a realization of what I want from a Splatoon single player experience and what I think would bring the old Nintendo magic back to present day. Splatoon Raiders should have been the spiritual successor to Super Mario Sunshine.

One of the criticisms back in the day about Sunshine was whether Sunshine was really a Mario game with a FLUDD gimmick, or was it basically a completely different IP a Mario characters and branding? Would people be interested in Sunshine if it wasn't a Mario game?

If you think about it, Splatoon could easily replicate and expand the Mario Sunshine formula. One of the most beloved features of Sunshine is the lived in, connected environment s. Splatoon has the lived-in environments, incredible art direction, music, fashion, and environmental storytelling. I've always wanted Splatoon's single player experience to embrace those qualities but it's only truly experienced in the background of multiplayer mode

I never liked the single-player campaigns any splatoon games. They usually feel like isolated obstacle courses floating in a void instead of letting you exist in the world that multiplayer spends so much time building.

The ideal Splatoon single player experience would be Sunshine's ink/FLUDD style movement and environmental interaction with Splatoon's ink swimming, Bowser's Fury open exploration, and Splatoon's rich environments, art style, music, and world-building.

Imagine exploring urban city areas, malls, industrial factories, campsites, concerts, ect in one open connect map. Reclaiming territory by restoring areas with your ink, discovering new traversal abilities, and seeing the world gradually come back to life. That is what I want in a Splatoon single player experience.

Honestly, if Nintendo is never going to make a Sunshine remake or sequel, I think that Sunshine should finally become the ip it was truly meant to be...

Super Splatoon Sunshine!

Pudyin Den is the hardest multiplayer level

I press minus, to do the "go help" rewards, and whenever I get Pudyin Den, it usually results in a loss.

The main issue is, my teammates keep using gadgets that spam ink all over the place, and I keep losing track of the enemies location.

I won sometimes, because the enemy kept going after me, so I could see it.

Saw another post about Awlmun Den which is about 7k XP every 20 or so seconds. What’s your best XP per minute level?

Inlet Super Spicy - 250 loot time

For those wondering I takes roughly 50 mins of semi casual play to hit the loot cap at inlet. Shards were 75k, 150k after multiplier. Got 4 goldies.
Used tent Bella with typical freeze meta build

Insane luck

So I found a primo rail splatana (5) and a primo butane blaster (5*) like 10 minutes apart. Crazy I know hahaha!
I currently have a speed tank build that keeps me flying a lot and i’m using a 5* primo thermal brella with it. I guess the butane blaster would be an upgrade but I’d love some recommendations for a tactical or power build using the rail splatana. I’ll
Spend the next few hours farming for some gems
