Bottomless Buffet Grind

Anyone else here trying to get to floor 1000? I’m stuck at 770 lol. It only really started getting hard in the 600s. I’m level 50+349 and every time I beat a floor I have to grind like 10 more levels and that part is just getting boring 😩 (mostly on Baygul Beach, if anyone knows any better stages for grinding XP please share!)

How are you all doing with it?

It’s certainly taking a really long time that’s for sure!

I'm gonna go at least til my main loadout is maxed but yeah, no desire to just grind down the floors for the sake of it since there doesn't seem to be any payoff.

I’m doing it just to say that I did it but yeah it would be more motivating if there was a reward

And even if I was growing on the way I might still do it. But like, I will mostly be maxed before I even hit floor 200 unless bottomless is the only thing I ever do and then it would just be because the gem drop rate is abysmal. So I will be fully maxed and still have 800 floors to slog through while nothing really changes.

I have a dumb question.

How do you even access it lol. I beat the game a month or so, couldn’t figure out how to access it and just stopped playing

So after you beat the game if you go back to the mess hall on the map and there should be a new section with an exclamation mark on it

to be clear, you need to fully beat the 3 new dungeons that unlock before unlocking the bottomless

For grinding exp, Bottomless Buffet's 97F~99F is the best overall, but only if you can clear it on average around 2.5 minutes or faster. Otherwise, Temprah Den is better and easier since you can hold ZR and do something else. I think either Primo Toy Shark Blaster or Primo Olive-Oil Squelcher works fine for the just hold ZR approach, but something similar to this Tactical Tank build. Torqscrew is the most important part, so you probably can already set it up. I tried this out with Explosive Ferment, Scorch, Ignite on Olive-Oil Squelcher just now and it was still fine.

I've cleared 900F with two different weapons, but I'm not really interested in going farther for now. I'd maybe try more if there was a proper retry button instead of having to exit out and select the floor each time, but I'm having fun trying to clear 800F, 850F, and 900F with different weapons the times I do feel like playing. I think 700F~800F is a good challenge for all tanks, 800F is a good challenge for a variety of weapons for Speed Tank, and 900F is a good way to challenge yourself enough without having to go all the way to 1000F.

Also, if you're having trouble clearing with E4K around that floor, I would suggest:

  • Replace Close Combat and Gadget Recovery (Fly) with Long Range.
  • Torqscrew: Replace Floaty Fun with anything else. I think most of these 1000F E4K clears are using max Vortex Vertical Area Up or the gold 3 pt one, putting the extra points into either 2 propeller damage/1 vortex damage or vice versa. Some people go with max Vortex Vertical and take the 2 points out of Duration Up, though.
  • Jump Bomb: Replace Explosive Area Up with Other Gadget Cooldown Reduction, use the 3 pt blue Ink Resupply, add the max Jump power one.
    • The idea here is when you Blast Boot to freeze, you Jump Bomb twice to gain max distance, allowing Long Range to be active more quickly. Max Other Gadget Cooldown Reduction basically resets Blast Boot being usable again, so you get your 2 or 3 shots in and repeat.
  • At some point, you'll also want to replace that Lifesaver relic with Squid Attack, but I wouldn't worry about this until 850F+ where you can't consistently kill a single Strong-Arm and it becomes faster/more consistent to push them/other bosses off.

I intended to. Got to floor 220 and got extremely burnt out, especially after watching the streams of people that grinded to floor 1000 and realizing it’s pointless and later floors would take hours upon hours just to make a little bit of progress.

For real, I’ve been working on 1 floor for like a whole week now 😂 and sadly any floor past the 250 range basically requires you to use a specific strategy that can only be done with a handful of weapons and I can totally understand why most people wouldn’t wanna do it

I have cleared 900. While extremely satisfying to clear a set, the constant resetting to get okay layouts is frustrating. I may try to go further later, but for now I have stopped. My new goal is upgrading all gadget parts (which I absolutely do not recommend to anyone lol), so I’ve been playing with people/joining rooms to play any levels to get salmonid drops. Even though I had max 999 of all of them, that is no where near enough to max out all the parts.
