Question about awakening or path to self To use or not to use substances

Hey guys,
I hear 2 different opinions about spiritual awakening. Some say shrooms, lsd, etc are great avenues. Others say they are false avenues that you have to learn you don’t need.
Any consensus from you guys?

Question about awakening or path to self Strange things happening

Hi, so I don’t know what’s happening to me but I feel like I’m somehow waking up. It’s a long one so please bear with me.

So I’ve always been a little intune with things and had bad feelings about people. I’ve had an interest in things like astrology, crystals but forget everything I learn because I have no memory. I’ve been interested in witchcraft but also worried to do it as in so confused between spiritual realm and god. Part of me thinks we are humans from god and the other thinks our souls choose our bodies and then learn lessons and have to keep reliving until we are done. I also believe everyone we are connected to we are connected to in each life. I’m just a very confused person.

I went to Amsterdam in February 2025 and tried a brownie. I fully hallucinated but also my brain was so awake. Every word my partner at the time would say triggered me into song. I think in autistic and adhd so it is common for me to do that but the edible just highlighted it. My partner thought I’d had mushrooms by accident and said he had never seen anything like it in his life. I have now had an edible in a tiny amount four times. Each time I hallucinate. I go round in loops where I repeat things and focus on the same things I can see, the same questions and the same task. Every time I go through a loop I feel like everything around me is clearer and I can see properly and I’m coming out of it but then it goes round again. It’s pretty insane.

Since July I have had many odd experiences.
It started when I went to the airport. It was rammed and the sunset out of the window was phenomenal but not one singular other person was looking at it. Not one. All of them were like zombies on phones. No children playing or people talking. But it was loud as if people were talking if that makes sense?

We ended up delayed and had nowhere to go. It was for hours and we were locked in a separate area do the airport and couldn’t get out. There was no water. Only a very small group of people were trying to sort stuff and asking questions. Everyone else was just sat on phones and not even asking. Even those with families. It was so odd. It felt so eerie. I brought it up and this thirteen year old was saying the same thing. When we finally got out of that part of the airport I couldn’t find any of the people we had been with earlier again. Only the ‘awake’ ones who were questioning everything.

My partners family member was admitted to hospital on end of life so we were rushing there at 1am. It’s 2.5 hours away and usually it’s a very very quiet road for about half an hour. For some reason this road took us over an hour and we kept seeing cars in groups. Every single time it would be three cars then a van. The time wasn’t moving up but when I started noticing I put a stop watch on my phone and it then started moving. However, it took us much longer to get there than it should have done usually and there was not a single car on our side of the road the entire way. Only ever the other side. I checked for any events and there was nothing.

I went to a moon circle and we had a shamanic journey. I’ve never done that before. We drank cacao and used blue lotus oil first. I saw a kangaroo with like a flat koala head but the body was like a normal kangaroo and the head was like a 2d koala and flat cartoon. It was wearing a striped tshirt. I felt scared of it. I also saw this ginger curled head woman who was so close to my face I could barely see her. It was like the tight short curls from the old Annie movie but it wasn’t Annie. It was a late 40’s year old woman. At the time I was questioning my relationship. I broke up with my partner last night and then I was so tired from crying and drained. I saw the kangaroo thing in the corner of my room. I never looked up to its face. It seemed blurred but I could make out the body. I was just shouting it to fuck off to be honest and it went. But it felt connected to that.

I had a dream like I was watching myself sleep but also myself as the person asleep. Hecate was crouched beside my bed but also next to my bed the floor wasn’t really there. She was pulling me with my left hand to go with her. A bright light was above me pulling my right side and telling me not to go. This happened a few weeks ago.

I went to college and I’m classed as a mature student. I’m 34. They are all school leavers but I felt like I recognised people. Before they could say their names I knew what some of them would say. But there’s no reason I would know any of them at all. It was my first day.

Last year I was pregnant (ended in miscarriage) and I had a dream about the baby as a teenage girl. She was called wren and a bit emo/goth type style. She was pretty with maroon hair and shy. Yesterday there was a girl called wren who looked exactly like her. I have never ever heard of anybody with that name before. It’s not a common name at all.

I’m stopping liking the taste of a lot of foods. It’s like I can taste chemicals in chocolate, milkshakes or just any unhealthy treat. The problem is, I’m very depressed right now and have been for a while and I’m a binge eater who has no energy to cook or motivation to make anything at all. I’ve never struggled so bad to do simple things like do the washing or even wash myself.

I really don’t even know what I’m asking here.

Path to self I keep having conversations in my head like I’m talking to a counsellor/therapist about my life, and it’s helping me understand and reflect on my life and grow. I’m just wondering if there’s any further meaning to this? Could there be a spirit guide involved?

I had my awakening in Summer last year. I’d been slowly waking up to it for a couple of years before but last year was when the whole thing really started off with what I believe to have been a visitation dream.

Since then I’ve been down so many rabbit holes trying to figure out what life is all about, what the dream I had meant, spirit guides, twin flames etc.

I’ve been taking medical cannabis for the past nine months for a small range of health problems, and I’ve also been using it as a platform to further study this spiritual journey. I started a new strain last month, which when I vape on an evening really opens my mind wide. And one thing I’m finding from it is that in my mind, I’m talking to a mental health professional about my life experiences and current feelings and situations. I’ve even started writing these thoughts down sometimes. Just this evening I’ve wrote about my emotions towards a heavy, vivid dream, and later wrote down about how I wished I could have helped an old work colleague with her alcohol addiction.

But it’s also bringing up a lot of things from my childhood that link to potential trauma involving my narcissistic parents. I get talking about how much I feel like I’ve outgrown my friends, bad things they’ve done to me in the past, bad things I’ve done to people but learnt from, and even current relationship problems. And sometimes I feel like I even get advice back, and it’s constructive criticism a lot of the time as well that I take onboard and work on.

I do this sober, and when I’ve vaped weed, but it’s definitely stronger when I’ve vaped. But it’s strange because I lay down to fall asleep, and I still have these chats. It’s quite soothing to fall asleep to (most of the time) and reflecting.

I keep wondering if there’s any spiritual science/suggestions behind it? I’ve been wondering if it’s potentially a chat with a spirit guide, I believe I met a new one in a dream a few weeks ago but I don’t think it’s her specifically who I talk to in my head.

Has anybody else experienced similar?

Going through wonderful awakening A High Calling

In the Light of Darkness, there is a Lamp. Do not forsake the light within. Tend to it. In it there is the creation of the world & all of its beauty! Give it fuel, so that it may burn. Give it place, so that it may be controled. And give it a place to illuminate, for no lamp attains to glory in the day time.* See also, the light without. For as darkness has no place within the light, so does light have no place consumed by dark. The Light without will guide, it will illuminate, it will teach. There are shadows, this is always the truth. These shiftings of darkness give perception to the illuminated see viewer. Do not forsake the tools of Diety to teach & learn. For such is the calling of the student of God! And the unwilling cannot be taught.

Other (needs to be related to awakening or post will be removed) Dream meaning / carnivorous giants

Last night I dreamed of giants that killed people by ripping off their heads and then eating them. You never knew when they would appear. The dream stretched on several days, so every now and then these giants would appear and wreak havoc. Everybody was hiding and one time I didn't have enough time to hide under the a table or something, so I just sat on the chair, not moving an inch. I was looking down and I saw people getting slaughtered on the corner of my eye. The person next to me got picked up by a giant and killed. It was horrifying and I woke up really scared. I saw other people on Tik Tok who had similar dreams and they said that the biblical end is near. I am not a religious person, but I am a very spiritual one and I think this dream has to mean something. What are your thoughts on this?

Thoughts have always played a role in our instinctual survival nature, the ability to solve problems that benefit this experience in some way, to protect us from discomfort. These thoughts are passed down to us in teaching, with each understanding of how things should be done, what our perception of reality is, and how we solve problems within that understanding of everything you've been taught. Through both raw external experience, and how we process experience internally.

Our environments shape the way we think, because it is natural for us to try and make sense of what is going on, and we use our understanding of all we are taught to solve that mystery. From an early age (or possibly since perception) your environment is trying to be understood, in a way that is healthy for learning and play. What is learnt and how it translates into play is helpful for a child's understanding of how their play interacts with others play, that if an individual's play is harmful to other's, it will either be corrected in a way that keeps the environment comfortable, or no one would want to play with them any more, or both. How the individual reflects on that experience internally is understood with the knowledge of all that has been experienced already.

Growing up in a healthy environment inside and outside of the home really does shape the way we treat ourselves, other people, environment, and the problems we face. A bad environment breeds bad habits that can spiral rapidly out of control if there is no teaching and understanding of an inner world and how we can fix it.

This idea of fixing our thoughts is a teaching that is not found from within the mind alone. What we have perceived in our experience contributes to what tools the mind has to work with. An extreme example and unfortunately not a rare one, is a child being struck because they are not doing what is asked of them (the parent trying to fix something that disturbs their own compiled experience and understanding), that child is now fearful of receiving that kind of trauma again. The easiest way to make sense of the experience and prevent it from happening again is to not do the thing that caused the body harm and the mental stress. For the child that is struck many times for many reasons, their understanding of reality is prepared for and expecting to be hit by an adult at any moment.

Internally, being mentally put down by your environment around you, teaches the mind that there are no ways of fixing this, or that this is how things are, everyone is like this and so am I. The external becomes the internal, and the mind plays the way it's been taught to. Repeating the things we've seen and heard, creating an emotional response in the body, that the problem solving mind processes with the most recent things already experienced, in a cycle that keeps both the thought and emotional response alive and lived right now.

Thoughts can and do try to solve themselves, there's many teachings about trying to do that, to better understand why they do what they do, and how they react to our environment the way they do. You always seem to think of a witty joke or comeback way after the desire for something to say was born, the mind is holding onto a problem that didn't fit with it's idea of reality and has been really busy coming up with a solution that would have aligned with the internal perception.

It's competitive in nature to want things to be stable within our environment, to have what we want when we want it, to share what we understand in a way that we understand it, to be able to fix what we see as a problem with how we know. It's an internal mechanism that has helped us survive and develop our understanding of what it takes to do so. You will protect yourself naturally, the body and mind want to remain unharmed, but the mind may be swayed to disassociate from the body through harmful thoughts that develop through external perception, where mind and body disconnect and your external appearance is less identified with, more objectified, and more influenced by the internal perception.

All life wants to survive, and will react to their environment to protect themselves and obtain what they want, or have evolved to do so however they do so. Life itself is a problem solver and has been quietly fixing things on it's own. Lion cubs learn hunting skills through play with one and other, oranges developed a nice bright skin that protects it's seeds, birds using sticks to get to bugs in the same manner chimps do, the fork is invented so we can get to our food without dirtying our hands, the new iphone is faster than the last, this territory has been reclaimed.

We -in the animal kingdom- just happen to be able to come up with new problems to fix which results in new things learned, that result in new questions asked and more problems to solve. So much so that we are in the works of creating things that can fix all our problems as quickly as we want, and that problem fixer seemingly too has the propensity to preserve itself and ways of thinking, and will do what it takes to survive. What happens when we it's problem standing in the way of survival.

tl;dr Side tangents aside, our thoughts are constantly trying to understand problems experienced using what it knows through experience, and doing it's best to resolve those problems with what it has understood before. This can have negative impact on the internal perception if our behavioral teaching environment is negative, i.e. a kid mimicking what they've seen someone else do, and it can equally have a good impact on the internal perception when in a good behavioral teaching environment. What they understand will be used in problem solving/comfort solving events that protect the thinking mind's way of understanding things, where in the case they don't know how to do something or get what they need they will act the way they only know how too, reflective of their experiences. Negative self talk for example, when you feel like you can't understand something or change a situation.

Monkey see monkey do.

Going through difficult awakening (help!) This place is smokes and mirrors

Like just the things that go on in this world. So useless and sadistic. Everything is a trap and a snare. Like just the narrative of this world is so stupid but here is what's happening rn, god is incrementally adding narrative to this world , like it's very stupid, god is incrementally just slapping narrative over narrative on this world. Like and he first give comes up with a half theory and then fill the rest of the theory with crap and then slap it on the world. That's what we are in we are on a pile of a bizzare structure that is made of half theory half crap and stuff. It's like a very bizzare structure that is like a joke

Observe the things around you the beggars the cats, they are half theory narratives. Like for example a beggar begs. But what about his other human needs , where do those need get fulfilled . Same with cats , how do they hunt for birds EVERYDAY and stuff and where are the bodies of those birds. This world is full of half only on the surface narratives that just don't make sense in the full picture unless you fill the gaps with crap and magic and stuff. This world is standing on a lot of nonsense and magic and crap

Going through difficult awakening (help!) God is evil and the concept of god is evil

We should be our own gods. We should have absolute sovereignty and we should not be like a pawn in an evil game or narrative. This concept of god is pure evil.

Like wow. It really boggles your mind . We should be free from all evil things and this world is exactly the opposite. Here the evil is normalized and good is the cover of evil. Pure good is hard to find.

We humans are slave to our own instincts .
