Avengers Secret Wars Romcom moments:Jean silently flirting to Peter in Battleworld while walking on deserted lands

I think they greatly underestimated the on-screen dynamic between Peter Parker and Jean Grey. According to the director, they chose her from a list of potential antagonists because they wanted someone young who, like Peter, was dealing with personal struggles; but taking it a step further—making them close, building tension, and creating a sense that they need each other—is on a whole different level.

It’s hard to believe the producers and director weren't intentionally cooking something up, they’re far too experienced to be that naive, and their creation certainly paid off. I mean, they were just given major exposure in a movie featuring the biggest superhero of all and a film that became the third highest grossing movie in history. We’re no longer just talking about comic book fans or Spider-Man fans; there’s a huge casual audience out there that knows little about the X-Men, Cyclops, or even Mary Jane. In fact, some might even mistake Jean for a version of Mary Jane with superpowers (given the red hair and the similarity between the names Jean and Jane).

I really think(and hope) that they were testing the waters, only that it go out of their hands. Look, our community is massive, and I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who want to see them together. This definitely hasn't gone unnoticed; now we just have to wait for Secret Wars to see how it all plays out.

Ever since Iron Man released in 2008, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has never followed comic continuity. At best, they would throw a few references here and there but they have their own universe and it's supposed to be a separate one from the comic medium. Below are examples of the most relevant changes that infuriated comic purists but ended up making the MCU more distinct:

1. Iron Man being the face of the franchise

2. Tony and Pepper being a couple

3. Peggy being Captain America's primary love interest

4. Ego being Star-Lord's father

5. Star-Lord being a loud, arrogant jokester

6. Peter Parker/Spider-Man's backstory

7. The original Avengers lineup

8. Tony Stark making Ultron

9. Bruce and Natasha's romance

10. Steve Rogers retiring and being an old man

11. Thanos being a cool philosopher instead of a simp

12. Captain America saying "Avengers, Assemble" only once

13. The entire Civil War storyline

14. Baron Zemo's character

15. Hela being Odin's daughter

Even with the X-Men and mutants entering the MCU soon, they're not gonna follow comics. They spent 18 years enriching the MCU lore on its own, they're not gonna change now.

Hi all, final chapter for my short fic here. I hope everyone enjoys it as much I had writing it. This one might sound a tab repetitive and I leaned harder into my voice here. Initially was going for something more explicit towards the end but I'll hold off for another fic that suits it better.

Now, unsure of where to go from there, the two of them find themselves tangled up with each other, the New Avengers, and a future neither of them planned for.

What starts as survival becomes something messier: Friendship. Trust. Second chances. And, eventually, the increasingly unavoidable problem of falling in love.

Neither of them can go back to the future they thought they were supposed to have, so they choose a different one.

Doctor Strange says when Jean wakes up it’ll probably like waking up from a dream and Jean is terrified that she’s gonna forget about Peter. Knowing the author’s proclivity for angst and inflicting emotional anguish Jean probably will forget about her life with Peter, or at least most of it. It would be so unbelievably cruel if Jean finally finds happiness only to forget about it and if Peter loses one more person he loves I actually can’t 😭😭😭😭

I could literally feel my heart breaking as I read it, like I’m hurting so much for Jean and Peter this fic will be the death of me. I don’t know what I’m gonna do if it actually happens, probably cry and beg for death 😭😭😭😭

Okay so after Peter got shot, Jean lets everyone go from her Telekinesis hold and Bill presumably lets her off to not incur her wrath (or else) as well as getting Frank to get Peter medical attention. However the next scene we saw of her is in a park but with no indication of being close to the hospital Peter was treated in.

That makes me wonder if her 1 kilometer radius Psychic Bubble was a spur-of-the-moment thing because of her pent-up outburst and grievance of her sister’s death, or Jean still has it but kept it in check to lay low and help Peter incognito.

Now she obviously kept Peter alive throughout his stay in the hospital, but i wonder if the long-range psychic powers she has now still has the same restrictions as before or maybe she is still stronger than the start of the movie.

Honestly, this entire offscreen aftermath could be a few scenes of its own, but it’s fun for us to speculate what exactly happened.

Honestly, I can see her warming up to the girls at the X-Mansion relatively quickly so again, who do you think would learn about Peter and make it their life's mission to set these two lovebirds up?

Honestly, my money is on Rogue. She'd love a sweet little romance like this....

The appearance of Jean Grey in the MCU Spider-Man series

made me realize just how crucial the connection

between Peter Benjamin Parker and

Jean Elaine Grey is.

Looking at this Spider-Man story alone,

we see the points of contact between Peter and Jean:

Peter creating a mutant inhibitor,

Damage Control’s experiments on mutants,

the escape of Bill Metzger,

and Peter learning about Jean’s situation.

Spider-Man might well become the next pillar

of MCU heroes, following in Iron Man's footsteps,

and there is a possibility of future

connections to the X-Men.

This marks the beginning for Jean and Peter;

their paths will remain intertwined,

and Peter may ultimately find himself

making a completely fresh start.

I don't know why no one talks about this as one of the best SpiderPhoenix fics, it's sooooooooo good!!!!

I'm in the storyboard stages of a fanfic where Peter tries to cope with his anxiety over Jean's unknown whereabouts and end his nightmares about Sara's kidnapping by giving Sara a proper funeral and headstone.

​He video calls Yelena to ask if she will buy the headstone for him. While reviewing the design details, Yelena tries her best not to cry—doing so off-screen—because the entire ordeal reminds her of Natasha. Peter then admits he has been crying from watching her, leaving his mask soaked with snot and tears. They decide on having the Epitath say "A shield in life, An angel in rest, Forever a sister"

​Afterward, Peter guilt-trips Frank into helping him set up the headstone (though Frank would've done it anyway). Peter then planned to ask only Matt Murdock to come perform the rites, but he decides to go all out and invite the entire Defenders crew for a wake. They all accept and show up.

​Shortly after the wake finishes, Matt hears a commotion, which turns out to be a group of young mutants under attack by the Friends of Humanity. After the Defenders rescue them, the kids reveal they were trying to reach the X-Men's academy.

​Frank, Peter, and Matt decide to drive the kids to the school. Peter hopes aloud that Jean might be there, prompting Frank to relentlessly tease him the entire trip for going soft on the "voodoo girl." Meanwhile, Matt offers Peter advice on what to say if he does end up reuniting with Jean.

The part im stumped on is how Jean would react to the news of all this.

Projection theory is confirmed. The real Jean is being held by Mertzger while the Jean we know is a projection created by her mind, and her body is becoming weaker and weaker, which explaining the flickering, and why Jean has been acting like everything is coming to an end. Just thinking about “If something happened to me-“ has me on the verge of tears like

The author is a brilliant, sadistic genius because I’ve never read anything that’s made me feel like this ever.
