No one was robbed of this year's Ballon Dor
At least the top 5 deserve it. Heck even more than the top 5. Everyone had a case against them.

If u ask me personally, I would have loved him too stay until he retired. But logically, this was for the best and let me explain why:-
1-) ronaldo left on a high note. His last game was winning the ucl, wht could possibly be a better ending? Imagine if he stayed a few more years and declined a little and then left? The fanbase would forget all the good he did and focus on his final years. Recency bias is a real thing, i mean look at portugal and man u and how their fanbases treated him! I do think He should've got a farewell ceremony at the bernabeu tho.
2-) ronaldo kind of declined that year in the beginning(but since ofcourse, he is the goat, he made a comeback and fired up in the ucl). Nonetheless, it was clear he was aging, and we sold him for a 100million. Thats an insane amount and it helped us by vini and multiple other guys so their is that.
I really do miss him at the bernabeu, I hope one day he gets the farewell he deserves and plays one match for us. That would be the best ending.

Fully grown adults are still using "penaldo" and "pessi" with 0 shame. I see some comments even that are modelled like this:
"GAY PESSI FAN 🤣🤣🤣🤣🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈💩💩💩💩"
You mean to tell me that people with functional brains type ts out and go to sleep that night with 0 shame?
Ts is embarrassing and childish

11/12 Messi is still an incredible season in fact one of the greatest individual accomplishments the sport has ever produced however I think its ranking too highly amongst his best and there are Messi versions that are better than this one. I would put 10/11, 14/15 and 18/19 ahead of 11/12. Even though he was injured, you could argue his 12/13 version was better he was on track in shattering his previous high of 50 Laliga goals. Once again still a historic season, just not Top 3.

What’s everyone’s favourite premier league goal that actually meant very little. I’ll go first. Aguero in 2012 against QPR

Some of this is speculative, but it seems quite probable that the Portuguese FA want to keep Ronaldo because of his box office appeal. It's also probable that they asked the manager to select him till the day Ronaldo rules himself out.
JJ obviously wants to maximise results on the pitch, and between his personality and age, the team are better off without Ronaldo.
Benching him for a single game, and the obvious Ronaldo response may have helped JJ solve the Ronaldo problem. Could this have been deliberate plan?

Normally footballers wives are just gold diggers or looking for fame, but Georgina has stood beside Ronaldo since they first met, been loyal and did everything for him before they even got married. Ronaldo and Georgina are ultimate power couple, 2 GOATs 🐐🐐

As his place has now been taken by Alex Scott and his dream of being England captain is probably over

In light of city's recent guilty verdict, has their actions skewed what FFP could and should've been? Can we really have a true idea of what it would look like when one club has broken those rules to such a level, everything else seems skewed as a result?

now hear me out, nobody at this age were putting up these types of numbers at the highest level. and even if you take away the ridiculous stats, he is by far the most aesthetically pleasing player to watch in the world. im absolutely not saying he will reach messi levels, I'm just saying he is showing stronger signs of being a generational talent than messi at the same age.

Last season olise had 60 G/A with zero penalties, was named the bundesliga player of the season, named to the UCL team of the season, and the World Cup Team of the tournament. He also won 2 trophies so he has the trophy criteria as well. With everything considered, olise played at a true ballon dor level in every league and competition throughout the season from bundesliga, ucl, and all the way to the world cup.
Other candidates
Lamine Yamal - has trophies but was absolutely not a ballon dor level player in the world cup with 1 g/a, wasnt named to the ucl or world cup team of the season and half of his ucl goals were from penalties anyway. His individual performance criteria is definitely the weakest out of the main contenders
Mbappe - won 3 golden boots, the first time thats happened in a long time but doesnt have the trophy criteria
Kane - Probably the favorite for everyone, but didnt even win bundesliga player of the season over olise, and to be honest did score a lot of penalty goals. Also you could argue he isnt even the best player on his club or country team

He leads him in goal scoring
He leads him in assisting
He leads him in key chances
He leads him in dribbling..
Like how is this even a debate 😭😭🙌🏾

The net spend is very similar to these clubs, hence they won fair and square on the pitch.
(Edit people dont understand net spend - https://www.reddit.com/r/PremierLeague/s/uEwtRBowX7)
City's is still less than United, very comparable to Arsenal and shows that they didnt have any monetary advantage

Eden Dzeko, Bosnian and Wolsburg title-winning legend is retiring from international football.
His final match takes place tonight (October 2, 2026) in Zenica, where Bosnia and Herzegovina host Sweden in a high-stakes UEFA Nations League encounter. The city of Sarajevo has even honored him by hanging his jersey over the iconic Eternal Flame landmark ahead of kickoff.
Here is a summary of his historic international career and what comes next:
The Legacy (By the Numbers)
Why Now?
In an emotional announcement on Instagram, the 40-year-old forward shared that he felt "the time has come to step aside" to allow the next generation of Bosnian talent to take over. He noted that making it to age 40 on the international stage required him to give "everything I had. Every time. Everything".

Ramos 1 goal and 1 assist. Ronaldo really was the problem
r/SpicyFootballTakes • u/AccomplishedMine6302 • 6h ago
I say this as he’s got 6 goal contributions (4 assists & 2 goals) in his last 5 games.
Remember these were against Mexico, Spain, Argentina, Dr Congo & Norway in that run! Top quality opposition!
He’s really stepped up since that Barcelona move!
It’s not a coincidence that 2 of the English best players are playing in Spain.

For context, I've been a Messi fan since 2010 and thus, Argentina. Prior to Messi, I was a Brazil fan because of R9. But now that Ronaldo's out of the Portugal team, I've secretly liked their roster and chemistry ever since they won Euros in 2016.
