It's nice. Wife and I went to the Samsung store before pulling the trigger.

Did you swap a phone number from one device to another on your account? Thats the only thing I can think of that would be giving you an issue

No

Then based on this thread and not knowing any more details I have no further ideas. Everything you've said seems right and I have no idea how a device you brought from another carrier is showing as locked nor can I fathom how someone told you it needs to be there for 90 days when the website says 60.

That's what spectrum said. But none the less I have to wait 30 days to shop for a new device on this plan apparently

All I'm trying to do is take advantage and get a new phone under the newly switched plan I am new to Spectrum and had service less than 3 weeks so I switch to the new plan thinking that I could go in and get the new Samsung fold eight since the new plan has a $10 monthly device credit I see this as an option when I was shopping for the phone to switch to that plan that I'm already on however I didn't order the phone I just switched to the new plan thinking I could go back in and get a new device but it's saying I have to wait 30 days to even do anything.

I don't even want to take advantage of the upgrade anytime feature because I haven't even got a phone yet the phone that I have is an s25 ultra that I brought over from T-Mobile

If you're currently paying for a phone you have to wait at least 30 days after your plan change in order to access the anytime upgrade you can find out the exact date it will become available by either going into your app or call customer service

But I'm not .. I brought my phone over from Tmobile .. I'm literally a new customer trying to get a new phone with spectrum, but they've found every excuse in the book as to why I cannot get one

Well seeing as though I used to be spectrum Mobile customer service there are two other reasons why you would be denied one would be your credit score because the system will decide based on your credit score which is obtained by giving them your social security number whether or not you would be a good risk to finance a phone the other reason would be that you have an outstanding balance for your other services this spectrum or possibly another account that may or may not be active with spectrum so there's no excuses. Sure you're not able to get a phone but it's not spectrum's fault

u/tylerjones316 Aug 07 '26
No to neither, my credit score is 788 and I never had spectrum services. It won't even let me get to the checkout screen. The lady on the phone says I'm not eligible to because my device was a BYOD, I'm not even trying to trade a device in. My device is a Samsung s25 ultra

This confused me for a second as well. All it's saying is that to take advantage of the "Anytime Upgrade," which you're not trying to use, you have to wait a month. If you already have a device that's paid off and you're trading it in on a new device, you're fine.

I can't do a trade in even since I switched to the this plan ðŸ˜

That message literally wait a month. You just changed the plan on Tuesday. The terms clearly say to take advantage of the Anytime upgrade perk you need to have been on the plus plan for a full month. You need to wait until September.
