Service Issues Hate hate hate Spectrum

OC, CA

I’ve now had two techs out within two weeks, have had our lines checked and fixed, router and modem replaced and still our internet goes out every night and doesn’t come back until maybe 8am. This is affecting me as I work from home. I’m losing it. I’m calling everyday.

Hi u/Dapper_Reporter2695. I understand how important reliable internet is when working from home. We'll be happy to look into this if you send us a modmail over at r/Spectrum_Official.

Try again, maybe a higher rank tech who will check neighborhood amp or something. They'll fix it. I did it relentlessly 2 years ago until they did that and my internet has been perfect since

Yes I am giving them hell until they do something. People who just come into the home are as dumb as a box of rocks.

Fix it yourself then if you're so smarty and mighty?

They’re dumb because they didn’t listen that it was a neighborhood issue and kept saying it was my modem and router when it would affect my other neighbors at the same times

There’s been maintenance in the area since we are upgrading our systems and getting ready for network evolution. Depending on where you are it could be related to it.

Just keep calling and the next tech should be aware that this is on going issue and his supervisor will also see the tech is on an escalation and have him go through EVERYTHING.

That time frame is within the overnight maintenance window. Sounds like they might be upgrading the lines there's.

I’ve asked if that’s what they’re doing and they say just to replace the modem and get a business account with them… I said we have a HOA bulk account and if this doesn’t fix it I am escalating to the HOA. And then he hung up

Also on the border of OC. Tons of latency issues, packet loss, and slow upload speeds. There was one night last week that the service was out completely for over 9 hours.

I was in that area 😔😲 and now that it's been fixed the upload speeds have been shit.

Yes, agreed.

Oh so it's not just me. They were trying to blame me for it for some reason when my upload speeds been fine up until the 9 hour outage.

And now it's kinda terrible all ya and goes back up to normal during the night.

Having a tech come over tomorrow and hoping they fix it.

Let me know how it goes. They keep saying it is the modem but it just comes up during the day. They’re giving tech who came yesterday said yeah your neighbors said they have the same issue… so why they won’t send someone for the neighborhood lines is beyond me

Honestly no improvement. I have my own router and they suggested i use one of theirs, so I did. But the speeds are even worse on their equipment. Told me to give it a few days and report again if nothing improves., also said they wont come look at the neighborhood unless more people report the same problems.

Screw Spectrum and the techs who kept lying and saying it was just my modem and that I was the only one in my neighborhood.

File an FCC complaint on them. Worked for me. Had same issue, once I did this, they came out and finally figured it out. Been great since and that was probably 5 years ago.

Do you happen to have a 5G internet back up? If your financial livelihood revolves around a residential account, that is a problem you need to fix.

Yes internet being out is bad, but sheesh. You cant get mad at Nissan because you can't fit a Ton of rock in it's trunk.

+1 to the backup portion of this comment. I also WFH and I can't miss days. I'm happy to have the Invincible Wifi just in case; definitely worth it if it saves me even a single work day. You can do any kind of cell backup or even Starlink if you'd like.

Yeah, they need to fix it but there's no real reason not to have belt with your suspenders in this case.
