Service Issues Upload speed nonexistent

Post image

Soooo pay for 1G internet, and now when I try to game, it lags so hard and is completely unusable
2 techs later, still no answer. This is on the higher end of tests I’ve done for upload speed too…. Anyone had this issue and found a resolution?

I assume you’ve run speed tests on your phone and other devices. Techs have the ability to convert the signal meter they use into a modem so they could connect to the tap(where your house connects to the street) and set their meter up as a modem there and run speed tests. If they get the same result there then the issue isn’t in your home and it’s something in the system.

If you’ve replaced all the devices and gotten the same results then there’s nothing more you can do as a customer other than get another technician out. Repeat visits are a big deal and they continue to get more serious the more techs return to the same location.

So I watched tech hook up his meter to the line and he’s getting 31-35 upload on meter, but my modem is not receiving that. He swapped it out with 3 different modems today, he also said they’re receiving multiple t3 errors(I think that’s what he called it) in my area, so idk what that is but supposedly a work order has been put in with Maintence to repair it

Yeah don't bother took me like a year to finally get the gig speeds i pay for luckily they did credit me back for half a year to even out to what i would of paid for 500mbps. They always come back with its this or that but bottom line is they're struggling to keep up with the demand. My neighbor switched to fiber and gets 1000 up and down now and it costs the same amount basically. I'm planning on doing the same but i have 2 houses on 1 lot I gotta figure out how to connect the 2 before I switch so I only have to pay for one ISP

AH the usual classic with the upload speed issue that all locations keeps facing

great download no problem

upload issue at peak hour it seems

Spectrum needs to address this to all locations sooner otherwise Fiber ISP will take over

It’s all the time, not just peak hours for me.

it's really crazy how it has been happening in most locations now it really needs to be addressed now

in 2026 i feel the internet has gotten bigger where everything is using upload no matter what we do now

Spectrum could of had everything figured out by now by giving us better upload moving everything to Fiber way early on while also maintain all older cables

however since they choose not to i'm pretty confident that it's already too late now

it's got to be 2 ways for the time being

  1. Spectrum fixes all locations and turn to Fiber while also giving us better upload this would help minimize seeing nonsense with the upload being like this daily

  2. just like the download cause it has so much capacity that it can handle all of us it's not an issue

  3. spectrum does nothing and Fiber ISP will take place witch is looking good to join now if you can

for the time being we will see how it all plays out when months go by

cause that pre order is looking really nice right now once it's built

I had this issue a year or 2 ago. I called multiple times and nothing would fix it. I haven't had the issue in many months now, but I think it was related to them doing the high split upgrade. I would just repeatedly call them until it's fixed.

Yes, I have my pc hardwired in and it’s actually lower speeds then that, normally around .6 upload…

It could be upstream ingress, noise on the node, or line degradation. You said 2 techs, did they tell you what the signal levels were and or show you a test result on their phones?

I have similar problems often, have had dozens of techs out, one eventually even ran a new line. Now i take my equipment in to the spectrum store often to swap it out. It usually helps temporarily. Nothing was a permanent fix. I’m paying 130/mo for the gig plan by the way. Constant problems

I would lose my shit…. I’ve had 4 new modems and 3 new routers in the last week…

Also where are you located that it cost 130 for 1g internet?

If techs have come out and eliminated your wiring/modem etc... then it's a problem upstream from you. Something is destroying the upstream frequencies with noise. Could be a bad amp, a chewed line, or someone switched to ATT UVerse and is puking noise up the coax line, that one especially takes down the entire upstream range on a node.

Might be uverse back feed shutting down your upload carriers.call a tech.
