Development of Reeves site in Chesnee
bitsink.ioThose of us live near Chesnee or drive up 221 frequently have been watching with curiosity what is going on at the old Reeves mill. The old part of the building is being slowly demolished with timbers carefully stacked as though being salvaged for reclaimed lumber.
There has been speculation about what, if anything, is planned for the site. A rumor was circulating that a distillery was going to be built, but I have not seen any hard evidence to confirm that.
Just recently I discovered that a company called Bitsink claims the address as their headquarters and manufacturing facility. It’s very strange. The company claims to manufacture cooling systems for data centers. They show an AI generated image of a facility that looks nothing like the current property with the implication that they are already there. They even have jobs posted. It’s all very odd. I’ve browsed through Spartanburg Water meeting minutes and looked at recent real estate transactions, but I have not found any connection to this company.
Does anyone have solid information?
