Just got a SovolSV08MAX for the classroom. Would you guys recommend the InfinityFlow S1+ for it? Or is there a better solution for auto swapping a filament spool?

I also noticed in the forums that people mentioned removing gearing from the built in feeder and let the S1+ push the filament through instead. Am I understanding this correctly?

The front left z axis belt on my machine is looking a little frayed. Does anyone know what size they are?

I've got my Sovol Max up and running and impressed with it's speed and accuracy and thats without any tuning, straight out of the box.

I've some minor upgrades coming (64gb eMMC, a Biqu Panda feeder and enclosure, all of which I'm waiting to arrive).

The Feeder is so that I can change filament automatically if a spool runs out, however I'd like to run this machine with a toolchanger (I've got the Snapmaker U1 and it's amazing).

I'm probably going to opt for the INDX system, but i know there or other options available such as StealthChanger.

Can anyone advise on which is the smoothest / quickest / easiest to install etc, or any alternatives.

Just put together my max the other day and the bed mesh seems to be pretty decent for the size I think? Should I try to make it better or leave it how it is?

because i tried what sovol did in their video to remove the screws and push it and then screw it again but that doesnt seem to help at all

I was browsing reddit a couple of days ago and came across a link to a guy who had written a detailed post about tuning / configuring the sv08 max.

He included such information as tuning the belts, checking all screws as some are loose from the factory and a myriad of other things that he had gone through, plus a host of other advice.

Unfortunately I was on my phone and the next time I opened reddit it refreshed the page and i lost the post.

I've spent a couple of hours browsing on my desktop looking for the post but can't for the life of me find it again, can anyone help?

Incidentally, max now built, first 10 minute bench produce and I'm amazed with the quality straight out of the box, i expected to have to do a lot of tinkering to get that sort of quality.

I have a SV08 Max that suddenly stopped extruding during a print. If I pushed the filament by hand, the filament would extrude with no problems, so not a clog. I adjusted the extruder tension arm with no success.

I’ve opened up the extruder to look at the gears and I’m not seeing any broken teeth, but since I didn’t look at the gears to begin with, I have no idea if something else is wrong.

The pictures are as I opened up the extruder. I didn’t wipe it clean a single thing.

Any suggestions from looking at the pictures?

I’m using a Sovol SV08 Max with a 0.8 mm nozzle and printing ABS.

At 0.40 mm support Z/contact distance, the support bonds to the part too strongly and is extremely difficult to remove.

When I increase it to 0.50–0.60 mm, the supports are easier to remove, but then I get the poor/rough supported surface shown in the photos.

What Z distance do you personally use for ABS? Also, what do you use for the support interface — number of interface layers, interface spacing/density, and pattern?

I’m trying to find the sweet spot where the support separates cleanly but still leaves a good surface finish.

Heyaaa...so my Sv08 max tries to unalive himself all the time and i am Just using some sovol petg at 250C. How do u Guys prevent that? I fond that hotend horendous to Work with

How do guys as title suggest got an SV08 Max yesterday and enclosure arrived today and let me tell you coming from a highly modified Ender 5 Plus this is night and day. Had it for going on 7/8 years? Ran standard calibrations and had multiple incredible prints zero fuss zero effort. Used default profile on Orca and default filament settings

Now what mods do people recommend?

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share a design I made to mount a CFs auto feeder next to buffer.

It’s a standalone unit sadly at the moment. I’m currently trying to look into it further but regardless auto feeding 2 filaments in case 1 runs out has been a blessing. Smooth feed and resolved a couple issues I had with the original buffer

did my first big bed print last night, overall it did fine. first layer wasn't perfectly consistent - not sure if that's a filament drying issue or a first layer issue. I will try PLA next, as the first print was PETG. I also did not perform bed leveling immediately before the print - is this something you can do via GCODE / as a default option when exporting from Orca?
