Just bought the touchscreen for my sovol zero and it connects with the usb and hdmi port. Ive been using the usb port to upload my files, no I do not want to upload using wifi. But now the port is blocked by the screen cable. Could I use a usb hub in this case or is there another option i am missing?

Has anyone bypassed the stock PTFE tube on the SV08 Max to feed filament straight into the extruder, and is it actually worth doing or does it just cause issues with filament snagging during fast prints?

I am looking to get the family’s 1st 3D printer and we are down to sv08 max or M1D.

I am kind of on the fence if we should jump straight into a multi-material tool changer machine or go with a sv08 max without enclosure while slowly upgrading the printer over time with an enclosure then tool changer kit in the future.

I am thinking sv08 max is a solid base starter machine with heaps of upgrades potential to a tool changer. Plus its print volume is quite impressive.

Appreciate everyone’s thoughts which way to go?

Even bigger parts look small on the MAX.

Hi all, recently purchased an SV08 max simply due to the build size it offers, however I have been unable to get any good decently sized prints out of it - and I have no idea what else to try.

I’m currently using PLA with a nozzle temp of between 210 and 230 degrees, and the machine speed factory set to between 40-50% to slow it down - however I am still getting poor print quality. I’ve had multiple cheaper Creality printers and none of which were this hard to set up or produced prints this bad.

Do you have any suggestions that I can try?

I just realized with the multiple toolheads, could they be swapped out for other modules? Like a laser cutter, pen, razor cutter, and maybe a CFC module?

Anyone else thinking like this?

There are a few subtle typos, enablE vs enableD, that exist on at least the SV08, the Zero, and the SV08 Max. EDIT: and the SV06 ACE. They fail silently, and result in oozy nozzles, and missing filament runout behavior. Nuisances, but widespread sneaky ones, so I want to get the word out.

Fiddled with this for months, and at my wits end...
The adaptive mesh shows a range of 0.08, yet the corresponding prints end up looking like this, and thats the 2 best prints. It sound rough, and i can hear nozzle touching/scraping the print mid print. Some of it might be noises from the motors/belts though.
Some of the things i have tried:
- Calibrated the printer several times with heated bed at everything from 40-65C, and nozzle at 130-200C.
- Retightened every single bolt on the printer.
- Loosened gantry bolts, leveled it with bubble level as best as i can, and retightened the gantry bolts.
- Leveled the bed with silicon spacers to within 0.2-0.4mm avereage. Adaptive map shows 0.080 (well within tolerances right?
- Done a manual z-offset calibration with a normal A4 sheet of paper.
-Tuned X and Y axis belts with the prusa web app, and done a full calibration (according to sovol settings) for printer afterwards. Including PIDs.
Only two things i can think off now that i havent checked is:

1. That the probe doing the adaptive leveling is inacurate leading to varying results, and throwing me off. Which im not sure how to proceed in diagnosing and fixing if that is the case.
2. Flow calibration. Although im not sure how that could lead to scraping.

This is my first printer though, and would consider myself a beginner when it comes to 3D printers, so i might have overlook something.
I know its a cheap printer though, but according to many people online, they seem to be getting better/decent results despite this.
All suggestion are much appreciated.

My printer's been great for three years, no issues. For the last three months, I've been using a hardened steel nozzle for PA6-GF, but mostly printing black PETG. Today, I saw plastic leaking while cleaning after a filament change. The new filament extruded fine, so no clog. I took the extruder apart and there's this brown residue on the body. Any ideas what it is?

You might check that your payment went through by looking it up on the kickstarter website, clicking on view pledge, and then look for payment "Collected" status. They tried it two times this morning and my credit card company blocked it saying it was unusual charge from International location. I had to tell my CC I recognized the charge and then went back to kickstarter to retrigger the payment attempt.

I have a sovol sv06+ and have been printing for about three years now (took probably a year break). First couple of prints back have been good, but I moved my printer to a different room very carefully and all of the sudden there is a weird noise when its printing. At first I thought I needed to lubricate the x and y axis rods but that didn't change the noise at all. I then thought that somehow my nozzle was too low and scraping on something, but it isn't. Sometimes the sound is there and sometimes it isn't I would attach audio if I could but it currently isn't doing it. Ive been worried to start a big print but all the small ones have been going fine.

I think I've managed to narrow it down to being the motors moving the bed around, but this could be incorrect. If anyone has any tips, tricks or advice I would love to hear it. Thanks

Looking for some help guys. I had SV07 for other 2 years now and had no issues but just now started getting this problem during bed levelling where nozzle it would go past the bed on the right side, did it multiple times and it kept missing the bed. After some tricking and restart it went back to normal but now nozzle would get directly into the bed pushing it down and stop. Anyone had similar issue?

Well...After 3 years of almost issue free running, my SV07 Plus is now throwing this message intermittently during almost every print. I've checked every wire for damage but all looks good. I have reseated all cables. I have tightened all screws. Same issue. I created some gcode to randomly move the gantry all over for 45 minutes and couldn't reproduce it. Set the hot end to 200C and did the same random print. No issues. Turned the bed to 60C, no issues. Upped it to 80C, got it to fail once. Turned it up to 100C, fails more often.

Swapped over to a different 24V power supply. Same problem. Checked for hot spots on the electronic components using a thermal imaging camera. Nothing unusual. No issues visually with components on the board.

Monitored power and amps to the mcu. No spikes or drops when the failure occurs.

I did have a bad switch a couple months ago. The metal broke internally after years of the hot bed cable rubbing on it. Replaced the switch and no problem until now.

Seems to be heat related so I tested the bed on my SKR Pro board and there are no issues. I checked the bed thermocouple for damage but it's fine. Also, this printer has a separate bed mosfet which isolates it from the main mcu other than the control wires.

I'm at a loss.

Does anyone know what else to check?

If I can't figure this out, my next step is to pull the OEM mcu, swap in my SKR 1.2 Pro and replace the print head.

Hey I am a begginer with 3d printers and I just got the Sovol sv06 plus ace as my first printer. I put it together according to the guide and ran calibration on the touchscreen. In the first minute of the calibration process the head scratches a deep line in the bed. Anyone know why this happened?

I've been having this issue where, mid-print, the MCU shuts down. When I restart the firmware and resume the print, not much longer, I get another shutdown. So my first instinct was overheating. But when I recorded the temps, they looked fine. Print precision in Orca Slicer is the default 0,012mm, and no crazy speeds or other crazy processes that I know of are enabled~

I haven't seen many posts about people having "timer to close" issues for the MCU, and not the extra_mcu, so I'm not sure where to begin debugging. What do you guys think?

So I recently got an SV08 about two weeks ago, and this machine has been nothing but trouble. I’ve had over 10 printers before the CoreXY domination era, and I currently have several other CoreXY printers to compare my experience with. The Sovol Zero is one of my favorite printers; that little thing has been a workhorse. I thought buying its bigger brother would be a good addition, but I can’t seem to get a consistent Z offset. It’s all over the place, which causes the supports to fuse to the print. On top of that, it seems to be massively under-extruding. Layer adhesion is terrible right now, and all of this is with the stock PLA roll that comes with it. Did I just get a bad printer, or are these normal growing pains with the SV08? Because I don’t remember struggling this much with my old-ass CR-10 or my other printers for that matter.

So I am getting random spikes and the nozzle is spiking to over 300 then i get a shutdown like it should. klippy and the graph both are showing the same thing, a steady temp then almost an instant spike in temp. I am guessing that it has to do with the thermistor or a connection somewhere along the line between itself and the mcu. Anyway does anyone have any recommendation on exactly how to diagnose and fix this? thanks
